Once Zach returned from Haven, Rienne had gathered the courage to stand in front of him.
"Zach, I think you should wait a little. Vera said that this would put an incredible strain on your body."
"I can handle it." Zach walked around her toward the entrance to Friebel's pool of fire. His body was nothing if not sturdy.
"Zach! We're worried about you! This isn't smart! You were just on the brink of death!"
Zach's feet stopped moving. He looked back with a confused frown.
"That wasn't even close to the brink." He had been there several times. He had even started crossing over once. He knew what it was like.
"Sure, it was a beating," He continued. But Karsas held back. Most of my injuries, the ones that remain, at least, are from me. My body can't handle my energy. That is why I need to do this."
