Chapter 7 - Trouble.

Valeria looked on as her smile grew even wider, and she chuckled to herself. She couldn't believe that the guy was boasting so shamelessly, when his skills weren't so good to her. But she just continued to stare at the scene.

And she leaned against a nearby wall, her eyes fixed on the senior with a mixture of amusement and disdain. And she chuckled again after she heard him continue to boast.

One of the senior's friends, a tall and lanky boy, happened to catch her eye. He frowned, his face reddening with annoyance. "Hey, you think something's funny?" he asked, striding towards her.

Valeria raised an eyebrow, her chuckle dying on her lips. "Oh, just the usual bravado," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

The friend's face darkened. "You think you're so much better than us, don't you?" he sneered.

Valeria shrugged, her eyes never leaving the friend's face. "I don't think anything, except that some people need to learn humility.", she said with a smirk.

The friend's eyes flashed with anger, but before he could retort, the senior himself intervened. "Hey, hey, what's going on here?"

The friend turned to him, his face still red with anger. "This girl was laughing at you, making fun of your skills."

The senior's eyes narrowed, his gaze fixing on Valeria. "Is that true?" he asked, his voice low and menacing.

Valeria smiled, her eyes glinting with amusement. "Maybe," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

The senior's face reddened with anger, and he took a step closer to her. "Well, we'll see about that," he growled with fury.

And with that, the two of them began to walk towards the basketball court, the crowd parting to make way for them. The air was electric with tension, and everyone knew that something was about to go down.

"Hey, you think you can take me on?" the senior asked, his voice dripping with confidence. "Bring it on, I'll show you my skills!".

He had never thought that anyone, more so a girl, will ever question his skills when he had clearly beaten his opponent in the previous game in front of everyone.

And he was very displeased with Valeria, however she seemed to not care about his anger and just smirked.

Valeria raised an eyebrow. "And if I win?" she asked, her voice sweet as honey.

The senior grinned. "You'll never win. But if you do, I'll hop like a frog 15 times around the court."

Valeria's smile grew wider. "And if I lose?"

The senior's grin grew wider. "You'll have to admit that I'm the best player in the school."

Valeria shrugged. "Sure. But let's make it a little more interesting. If I win, you'll not only hop like a frog, but you'll also apologize for underestimating me."
