Chapter 2 - The Reincarnation (2)

Ray's eyes fluttered open, groggily taking in the unfamiliar surroundings. He was met with a sea of green, the soft grass beneath him a stark contrast to the cold, hard floors he was accustomed to. Groggily, he sat up, assessing his injuries. They were minor, but the unfamiliar clothes he wore caught his attention. The luxurious attire was unlike anything he had worn before, reminiscent of medieval Europe's opulence. The fine silk and velvet felt strange against his skin, a far cry from the practical leather and cotton he was used to.

Confusion set in as he realized he was shorter than his usual tall frame. A sense of unease grew, and he scrambled to his feet, searching for a reflection. A nearby lake provided the answer, and Ray's eyes widened as he beheld a stranger's face. Scarlet eyes and silver hair stared back, a far cry from his rugged, weathered appearance. This new body was softer, more refined, with skin as white as alabaster. The face was the same, yet different, like a polished version of his former self.

Ray's mind reeled as he struggled to comprehend his situation. Reincarnation? It seemed impossible, yet the evidence stared back at him. He sipped from the lake, his thoughts racing. If this body was raised in luxury, why was he injured and alone in the middle of a field? The contradictions swirled in his head like a maelstrom, refusing to settle.

As he rested beneath a tree, bandaging his wounds, Ray's honed senses detected the approach of someone. A middle-aged man with blonde hair came into view, his expression a mix of relief and concern. "Young master..." he called out, hastening towards Ray.

Ray's instincts kicked in, his hand instinctively reaching for a weapon that wasn't there. The man's eyes widened, and he slowed his approach. "Please, young master, you're safe now. I'm your loyal servant, Gerhard."

Ray's gaze narrowed, unsure what to make of this stranger or his claims. "Who am I?" he demanded, his voice firm.

Gerhard hesitated before speaking. "You are Lord Ray, son of the esteemed House of Silvermist. You were lost, and we've been searching for you everywhere."

Ray's mind raced as he processed this information. Lord Adrien? House of Silvermist? It sounded like a fairy tale, yet Gerhard's sincerity was hard to deny. He decided to play along, hoping to uncover more about his strange circumstances.

"Tell me more," Ray said, his eyes locked on Gerhard's.

Gerhard nodded, relief washing over his face. "Yes, young master. You are the heir to the Silvermist fortune, raised in luxury and privilege. Your parents, the Lord and Lady of Silvermist, are worried sick about you."

" Please . Young master, come back with me " Gerhard spoke . Ray had already decided to play along so he looked at him coldly and said " Let's go."

And so both of them started walking towards the exit of the forest .

' When did the Young master had such a cold gaze?' Gerhard spoke inwardly while keeping a respectful distance from Ray. Looking at his Lord walking in front of him , he could feel that he has changed . ' Maybe the life and death situation changed him ' Gerhard thought.

They met some wild animals on the way which

Gerhard easily took care of . After walking for about an hour's time they approached some other guards ....
