As July was nearing its end, Mother Qi suddenly appeared in front of Cheng Su, looking travel-worn and carrying two large bags, with one of them being carried by Qi Jianguo.
Cheng Su was surprised. Why did they come without even a heads-up? So suddenly?
"Mom, why did you come all of a sudden? Where's my father-in-law?" She didn't see any sign of Father Qi. What happened? Did she come alone?
"Your father-in-law said he wouldn't come for now and that he'd come after returning from Taiguo, said it was too hot. How is it hot? Mid-Autumn is almost here; it's quite cool!" Mother Qi said, "I figured you'd be busy, so I wouldn't bother you; just called Jianguo to pick me up."
Qi Jianguo looked apologetic, his intention was to notify Cheng Su first, but Mother Qi forbade him, fearing Cheng Su would make an excuse to block her visit.
Cheng Su said, "You should have called first. What if you got lost? You came alone."
