Elian smirked as he kept staring at Ariane. He didn't expect that she'd come to him.
His mind drifted to how he had just gotten into the office after talking with his personal assistant about the day's event.
He sat down in his office chair, mischievously smiling, and called his brother, Eliot.
A few rings later, Eliot picked up the phone.
"We met this morning; what is the urgency for a busy man like you to call me? You do realise that I also have patients to tend to? Eliot said which made Elian's mischievous smile expand.
"Mn, I know. I just thought you'd like to know that your childhood lover is here?"
"W-what? Who?" Eliot asked, in deep shock, wanting to confirm what Elian was saying.
"Anthonia of course. Don't act so dumb, she's always been the only one in your heart. Who knew that after talking about her that night, she would appear again?" Elian replied, still smiling.
"H-how did you know that s-shes here?" Eliot stuttered, attempting to compose himself.
"Well, I met her at the airport when I went to pick up dad. Surprisingly, she recognized me... probably because I was with dad, but still....bro, she is gotten even more beautiful, though she still looks like she did when she was younger, with her radiant blue eyes. " Elian said with a grin.
"R-really? I find it unbelievable. D-did she ask of me?" Eliot said, slightly relieved that his childhood friend had returned. Despite the fact that his voice carried a hint of fear.
"No. We were all quite in a hurry-"
"It's fine....i-i have to end the call now, a patient is waiting for me." Eliot said and before Elian could speak, he ended the call.
Sighing, Eliot placed his head on the table. He was sure that Anthonia wouldn't even remember him
Elian, in the meantime, laughed and rolled over in his chair to peer out the glass window at the back of his office.
"Love...so ridiculous; how can I picture myself in their shoes?" He grinned.
The sound of the office door opening caught his attention, but he was too indolent to look around and listen to his personal assistant's ridiculous justification.
Elian was about to speak when he heard the familiar female voice, which made him pause.
He quietly listened to all the lady had to say, even when the light went off and she prayed never to meet him again.
Naturally, he could recall exactly who it was because of his flawless rententive memory.
It was fascinating that the same lady who got into an accident with him and said a lot of things in anger, refusing to sign the contract, came back to him willingly...
Moreover, she seems to detest him, which is surprising because no woman has ever expressed distaste for him.
He was simply curious about how long she would continue to despise him; who knew, maybe the contract would come in useful after all.
He thought to himself.
Back to reality
Ariane kept staring at him in both shock and curiosity.
'is he really this arrogant or he's just trying to be funny? But the pay is quite_ no_alot good.' Despite her thoughts, she could not shake the question of what exactly was wrong with this man.
What does Fate has to do with working for him? At least he is not bringing up the foolish contract she signed.
'Perhaps this would be better; the E group is quite a catch, and working as their president's secretary...'
"Fine." She said with a little smile which made Elian grin.
"Excellent choice. What is my secretary's name?" He inquired.
With a persistent smile, Ariane answered.
"Ariane Niles." In response, she extended her right hand to shake his, but Elian merely gave her hand a cursory glance.
He pivoted and started to return to his seat.
"Miss Niles, let me start by saying that I do not shake hands." He said and sat down on his chair.
Ariane, who felt a bit embarrassed slowly retreated her hand.
"He does not have to be so impolite," she grumbled to herself.
"Second, you will be orientated on what to do as my new secretary from my Former PA...the last time we met, I found out that you were the secretary of the Anderson's company so this won't be that hard...you just need to know that I'm a lot different." He said.
'Did you just fire your PA?' she wanted to voice out but couldn't.
"You may leave." He said as he stared at his computer screen on his desk Infront of him
Ariane gave a little smile and slightly bowed down before walking out.
