At night, several people sat around a room inside the cave, watching Sura pour black oil into the repaired generator, then ignite and start it.
"Bang, bang bang, bang bang bang——"
The initial sounds were not very crisp, but as it started running, they became more coherent, and plumes of black smoke emerged from the chimney, followed by the connected light tubes starting to illuminate.
"Not bad, let's try the radio now." Sura brushed the rust and oil stains from her hands, then brought over the radio and connected it.
Static noises began to hiss, but Sura adeptly turned the knobs on the radio, gradually adjusting the frequency, slowly revealing a sequence of rhythmic sounds.
