Tang Fei denied Jack Morgan's idea, smiling as he said, "Al Smith is a person brought out by the Democratic Party, naturally left to the Republicans led by Herbert Hoover to deal with. If we overstep, it might push the Democrats to the brink."
Political struggles have their own rules. The newspapers of the Republican and Democratic parties can attack the opponent's candidates and party policies, but if they cross that line, it effectively pokes through a hundred-year-old election game maintained by both parties.
Donnie isn't planning to break those rules of party struggle just yet.
