Everyone knew they needed to find Masaki Keigo.
The problem was—no one knew where he was, which made the situation all the more complicated!
At that moment, Megumi suddenly recalled how Dyna had fired at a mountain earlier. Her eyes lit up.
"That mountain! Dyna must've discovered Masaki Keigo and tried to attack him!"
Megumi immediately relayed her theory.
"Yes, ma'am!"
Hearing this, Munakata didn't hesitate and immediately piloted Falcon-2 toward the mountain.
Ghidorah's three heads spotted Falcon-2 flying toward the rear mountain and instantly unleashed gravitational beams in an attempt to shoot it down!
But just in time, Dyna jumped in beside Falcon-2.
He raised a barrier, trying to block the gravitational beam.
But the beam passed through the shield as if it weren't there—hitting Dyna with full force.
BOOM!!
"Haah!!"
Amidst the explosion and Dyna's agonized roar—
He was blasted dozens of meters away and crashed heavily into the ground.
Though wracked with pain, Dyna forced himself to his feet again.
Then, he quickly switched to Sky Type and soared up to face Ghidorah's three heads.
He fired a laser and then began darting around the sky at incredible speeds, leaving afterimages in his wake.
He also launched a barrage of Rampart Light Bullets.
But it was all in vain—every one of Dyna's light attacks passed straight through Ghidorah, completely ineffective.
This scene puzzled both Megumi and Rena aboard Falcon-1.
"Why is Dyna still using attacks that obviously don't work?"
Rena asked, clearly confused.
Megumi thought for a moment and then understood.
"He's provoking the monster—drawing its attention to himself."
"ROOAARRRR!!"
Just as Megumi predicted.
Ghidorah was enraged by Dyna's provocations and immediately launched a barrage of lightning at him.
Dyna tried to dodge at full speed—
But the lightning was faster. It struck him almost instantly.
CRACKLE!!
Multiple blasts of lightning struck Dyna, triggering a chain of explosions.
He was sent flying again, crashing hard into the earth.
Meanwhile, Falcon-2 successfully landed at the foot of the mountain—right in front of Masaki Keigo.
"Masaki Keigo! Raise your hands and turn around, now!"
Ijuin immediately recognized him and drew his Hyper Blaster, shouting sternly.
Munakata raised his weapon as well, keeping it trained on Masaki. One wrong move and he wouldn't hesitate to shoot.
"Ah, the Victory Team. I'm surprised you managed to find me."
Masaki Keigo turned with a smile—completely unafraid, looking utterly relaxed.
"That monster—did you summon it!?"
Munakata demanded, his gun never wavering.
"No, no. Not 'monster'—watch your words."
Masaki wagged his finger with a smile, correcting Munakata.
"This is no monster—it is a divine being! The savior of our world, descended from the higher-dimensional void… Ghidorah the Star-Eater!"
As he spoke, he raised both arms in fanatic reverence.
"Divine being!? Are you insane!?"
Ijuin snapped.
"Open your eyes! That thing is destroying everything! People are dying! How is that a god!?"
"Silence!!"
Masaki flew into a rage upon hearing Ghidorah insulted, pointing at Ijuin and roaring:
"You ignorant mortals know nothing! Everything in the universe was born to serve Ghidorah! Ghidorah is the apex of the food chain! No matter the civilization, all must eventually become its sustenance!"
"To be chosen as its food is the greatest honor your pitiful little planet could receive! You mortals know nothing!!"
The more he spoke, the more frenzied he became—as if locked in some twisted debate.
"You're insane! Make Ghidorah leave, now!"
Munakata couldn't take it anymore. This guy was clearly a cult lunatic. He roared in frustration.
"Hmph, it's far too late. The moment Ghidorah descended, this world's fate was sealed—extinction is inevitable."
Masaki's lips curled into a twisted smile.
"Just stay here and watch. Maybe you'll be the last ones eaten. Let's enjoy the end of the world together—hahahahahaha!!"
He threw his head back in wild laughter and turned back to stare at Ghidorah.
The dragon was now releasing golden lightning nonstop, devastating everything for miles around.
As far as the eye could see, lightning rained like a golden storm, destroying everything it touched.
It was an apocalyptic sight—a nightmare within a nightmare.
One that made every human feel the cold grip of despair.
"ROOOAAARRR!!"
Deep underground, many previously dormant monsters sensed the catastrophe and began to emerge—trying to flee.
It was then that humanity learned there were this many kaiju still on Earth.
But the moment they appeared, they were reduced to ash by Ghidorah's lightning—not even scraps of flesh remained.
Dyna rose weakly to his feet and looked around at the devastation… then toward the mountain.
He saw Munakata and Ijuin still focused entirely on Ghidorah.
They didn't know that the only way to defeat Ghidorah was to kill Masaki Keigo—so they hadn't made a move to shoot.
Dyna then used telepathy to convey his thoughts.
"What!?"
Munakata and Ijuin both froze as Dyna's voice echoed in their minds.
They turned toward Dyna—and saw him nod slowly, painfully.
"Masaki Keigo is Ghidorah's eye. Only by killing him can you touch Ghidorah!"
Ijuin repeated Dyna's message, then looked at Masaki with a heavy heart.
He knew Masaki was the cause of this catastrophe.
But killing him… taking a life… it would be his first time. And the thought made him hesitate.
"Let me do it."
Sensing Ijuin's internal struggle, Munakata stepped forward.
He would bear this burden.
Without hesitation, he raised his gun and pulled the trigger.
ZAP!
A beam of energy pierced the back of Masaki Keigo's skull.
His face froze in a twisted grin—and then he collapsed.
There would be no rising again.
"Vice-Captain, you…"
Ijuin was surprised by how calmly Munakata had done it.
"I'm a soldier. I've killed before."
Munakata answered coolly.
Ijuin said nothing more, only looking at Masaki Keigo's body with deep regret.
He had once been a brilliant scientist, someone who could have changed the world for the better.
How did it all come to this?
Ijuin simply couldn't understand it.
