Gojo raised his hand slowly, palm outward, eyes never leaving the hulking titan before him.
"I have to thank you, Juggernaut," he said, tone disturbingly calm, that ever-present smirk tugging wider across his face. "You've given me an opportunity to test this out."
A pulse of blue energy rippled across his body.
A point in space shimmered… and collapsed inward, a micro-void formed, devouring light, matter, and sound alike. Air twisted violently. Dust, debris, and even fractured tree trunks were dragged in by a gravitational collapse centered around Juggernaut's chest. Space distorted into a spiraling cyclone. The very lines of reality warped, screaming with the sound of bent physics. A vortex of implosion opened by Gojo and Cain's momentum slowed not completely halted, but dragged down like a ship caught in a whirlpool.
His armor groaned. The crimson plates hissed and bent inward under the spatial pressure.
Gojo observed with a tilted head and a small frown.
"You're heavier than expected."
He the vanished and reappeared point-blank in front of Juggernaut so close they could feel each other's breath. Gojo raised his arm, now glowing red, and punched.
The impact was catastrophic.
A red blast erupted, a pure release of
concussive shockwave, colliding with juggernaut's massive frame.
The result was nuclear, a perfect ring of fire vaporized the grass around them. Trees snapped like toothpicks. The ground fractured then exploded outward like a crater under a meteor strike.
The shockwave rolled all the way back to the X-Men's fallback zone. Inside the shield dome which shimmered then and broke, Logan stirred groggily. His eyes snapped open, and his claws extended on instinct.
"…What the fuck was that?!"
Storm hissed, "Language!" But even she, In her mind? Had the same question.
A new Iron Man suit streaked overhead, jetting down into the clearing just beside them. The previous armor already charred and sparking crumpled off like shed skin.
Tony stepped into the new one with practiced grace. "If I had to guess? That was Gojo using one of the fancy new techniques we've been cooking up. Probably a combo move. Blue-Red Kaboom. Trademark pending."
He looked to his left just in time to see a red-and-blue blur swing into the clearing.
"Well, well. Finally."
Spider-Man landed beside them, chest heaving. "Yeah, sorry. Had to save civilians from a few buildings collapsing. You know, because someone decided leveling half the city was part of the plan."
Tony raised a brow. "That's called 'urban renewal.' You're welcome."
Back at the crater
Cracks spiderwebbed out from the epicenter, the scorched earth still sizzling. The point of impact imploded into a massive crater, heat still rising off the shattered stone and glassed soil. Gojo stood at the center, his hands still on contact, a thin trail of smoke curling off his sleeves.
He smiled.
'This… is so much better than telekinesis for attacks.'
BOOM.
Juggernaut's form exploded outward, launched, into the air. For the first time, against his will.
His body slammed through half a concrete wall, through steel rebar, through broken debris his chestplate visibly dented. Dust billowed out like thunderclouds. The force of his landing cracked the sky.
Gojo lowered his hand and stepped forward slowly.
Then, the rubble detonated again. Juggernaut launched himself, leaping with terrifying speed, the ground behind him shattered by the force of the jump.
'He's fast.'
Gojo's telekinetic Infinity field was already raised just in time.
But something was wrong. His eyes widened.
Through his energy vision, he saw crimson tendrils of unfamiliar power wrapping around Cain's body, spiraling over the armor, his arms, his fists.
'What the fuck is—'
The thought never finished.
CRACK.
Gojo's eyes widened at what he saw happening in slow motion as the shield shattered. The unthinkable happened.
Juggernaut's fist collided directly with Gojo's jaw. Bone met force. The boy was sent flying sideways.
Another fist to the ribs, a third one to the shoulder. Each blow landed like meteors, cracking the air, breaking the ground in exploding fragments beneath them.
Gojo's body skidded across the battlefield, slammed through a metal support column, and tumbled before catching himself midair, coughing once. Blood trailed from the corner of his mouth.
He chuckled darkly.
"That's the second time now my botched version of Infinity Shield has cracked..."
He frowned as steam hissed from his jawline the bone already healing.
'That's not normal force… That's… is that… Cytorrak's energy?'
His invisible shield flickered into view for a moment shimmering, glassy, cracked like a fractured mirror. The fractures spiraled along his arms and collarbones before fading.
He wiped the blood from his lip, his jaw already mended.
"So…" he muttered.
"…It can break… I definitely need an upgrade on that end and fortunately for me..."
Juggernaut roared and charged again moving faster. His fists were raised high in a punching motion.
Gojo immediately teleported into his guard.
He ducked low and drove a glowing red elbow upward slamming into Juggernaut's helmet with brutal force.
BOOM.
The pressure wave from the blow flattened every thing within a thirty-foot radius.
Using Cain's chest as a springboard, Gojo flipped backward through the air. As he did, he pointed two fingers down activating another pulse of blue.
The ground beneath Juggernaut collapsed, the implosion pulling him downward violently.
He stumbled, knee slamming into the earth as the micro-void sucked at his mass.
But Gojo wasn't finished.
He landed, both palms glowing like twin red suns.
He teleported not willing to give Cain anytime to react, appearing infront if him and struck again square in the chest this time a perfect cohesion of Red explosion.
The space around them violently ruptured, the combined force of both expansion shredding the land beneath them.
The shockwave leveled the landscape in a ring a hundred meters wide.
Stone fractured, soil vaporized, rebar screamed as it twisted like licorice. The ground detonated, forming a new crater within the crater. Juggernaut's body was launched and became a blur tearing through the remnants of the battlefield. He shot through the air, shattered boulders, carved a trench straight through the earth.
BOOM!
He vanished from the ruined hangar, blasting through the far wall and out the other side in a trail of smoke and pulverized steel and far away from the mansion.
Gojo landed softly, his sleeves completely atomized.
The ground beneath his feet peeled like scorched skin. The air boiled with residual heat.
He exhaled calmly and redeployed his shield with a thought.
Then, with a burst of movement, he shot forward in a blink racing toward behemoth.
"Round two's going to hurt."
