Chapter 296 - Gathering in The Kitchen

Chapter 296 Gathering in The Kitchen

The delicious aroma of meat filled the kitchen and began to waft into the other rooms, drawing the children to its source. The kids who gathered around were calm and collected, having experienced this many times before. They had practically become veterans at this point and looked forward to it as a special reward for their hard work.

As Aleshia prepared the food, she warned the children not to get too close, explaining that if they got in her way, she might accidentally bump into them with a hot pan or spill the food she was carrying. The kids listened to her warning and stayed a safe distance away, understanding her instructions.

Eventually, the food was all cooked, and it was time for plating. When Aleshia went to retrieve the plates, she realized there wouldn't be enough for everyone. But that wasn't going to be much trouble, as she decided to grab some bowls on her way back to supplement the plates.

Afterward, there were no further issues, and everyone was able to collect their fair share of food. As before, the older kids kindly helped with the arrangements, which included distributing the food, using utensils, portioning the meals, and handling other tasks. Aleshia felt that she wouldn't have been able to distribute the food as quickly or fairly as they did, and she was grateful for their presence.

"It's my lucky day!" Cecelia squealed as she burst into the kitchen with an energetic sprint. It seemed she had just woken up thanks to the delicious aromas wafting from the kitchen. Soon after her arrival, the rest of the party gathered in the kitchen.

Noticing Cecelia's enthusiasm, Aleshia smiled, though it didn't quite reach her face. However, inside, she felt a swell of joy from seeing Cecelia so excited. "Hey there, Cecelia! You're just in time. Why don't you help yourself to a bowl?" she offered.

Cecelia was doing her best to hold herself back from going straight for the food, but Aleshia's words loosened the reins. And without hesitation, she dashed toward the people handing out food, positioning herself at the back of an already established line. But of course, she strategically placed herself in the shortest line, as there were only two people ahead of her.

"Sorry about her, she really loves food," Brian sighed in exasperation.

"I can see that," Aleshia chuckled, waving it off. "Please, enjoy the food I prepared."

"And we certainly will!" Kelly said, inserting herself in the conversation before dashing off, matching Cecelia's enthusiasm as she followed right behind her.
