Chapter 5 - chapter five

Charlotte

The pair of black eyes overlapped the pair of red eyes that tormented me in the darkness.

Maybe I was being sentimental or overthinking things but that feeling of familiarity had taken a place in my heart and the emotion was...

Fear

I was scared

"why are is it so cold?" I heard people complain. The principal signalled to the a staff to reduce the temperature of the air conditioner which didn't help the situation.

"your hands Charlotte" I heard Natalie whisper with a gasp and I was brought back to reality by the slight pain at my fingertips

Frost bite

"I'll visit the restroom" I told her in a haste, pulling my hands away from her embrace before walking away at a fast pace.

I could feel her gaze and another familiar gaze lingering at my back and I almost ran out. luckily no one noticed anything.

Once in the restroom, my grip on the basin tightened a listen as I took deep breaths to calm my palpitating heart, my hands reaching for my pills stuffed in my pocket before swallowing it without water.

Slowly, I calmed down.

There was a sound of notification from my phone which I checked was a message from Natalie 'the meeting is over. I'll see you in class, there's something we need to talk about '

my heart almost flew to my throat and a question popped up in my mind.

Did she notice anything?

it shouldn't t be

I comforted myself, took a deep breath and rinsed my face before walking out of the bathroom, praying in my mind not to encounter difficulty or most especially Mr gray and his entourage.

The corridor was almost empty, few student hurrying into their classroom. My footsteps halted at the furthest window away from the board when I noticed our homeroom teacher in the class.

'oh no, this is bad'

One thing I noticed about our homeroom teacher Mrs savanna was that, she doesn't like me. When she turned to the board, I gave an eye signal to Natalie who immediately understood what I wanted to do.

she stood up and walked towards the board communicating with Mrs savanna. Once the coast was clear, my hands gripped the window sill, one leg already in the class while the other ready to cross over.

It wasn't the first time so my classmates weren't surprised.

I was so close to climbing in when I heard a cough from behind making me lose my grip on the sill and falling down with a 'slump', my butt heavily hitting the ground while attracting unwanted attention to myself.
