Aiden's eyes fluttered open. The first thing he saw were the tear-filled, overjoyed faces of his girls—Valeria and Gwen—before they launched themselves into his arms.
"Ow—ow! Easy! I missed you too, girls!" he laughed, wincing as they squeezed him.
"Hey—careful!" Noriko scolded, prying them back just enough to claim her own hug.Her voice shook slightly, though she tried to hide it.
The room was buzzing with relief. For three days, none of them knew if Aiden would make it back to them. Now here he was—alive, warm, and smiling.
"All right, all right! Give him some space!" Captain Marvel stepped forward, grinning. "Let's not forget—he had a hole in his chest just hours ago."Her gaze met his for just a second. Aiden smiled back, and to her horror, she felt her cheeks heat up. She turned away quickly.
Damn it, Carol… he's just a kid! she cursed to herself. Ever since the dream world, she couldn't stop thinking about him—and the fact that the man who had been her husband in that dream looked eerily like an older, more mature Aiden.
The door swung open.
"WARRIOR OF EARTH! A GOD INDEED!" Thor boomed as Brunhilde pushed his wheelchair inside. "I told these fools you'd live, did I not?"
"Yeah, right," Brunhilde said dryly. "He's been just as anxious as the rest of us."
Laughter broke out.
"Well, well… if it isn't the God of Wheelchairs himself," Aiden grinned.
"Coming from the God of Donuts? I'd expect nothing less!" Thor shot back, smirking.
Banter filled the room for a few moments before Aiden's tone shifted. The air grew still.
"All right… give me the news. Casualties?"
Valeria's expression darkened. "You had to bring that up…" she sighed. "We lost a few thousand soldiers. Nova's forces too. The enemy fleet retreated. And… Doctor Strange is gone. No news on Adam Warlock… or the government's 'hero.'"
Aiden's eyes narrowed. "Strange is dead…" He exhaled slowly. "Then he must've guarded the Time Stone to the end. I doubt he'd let it fall into enemy hands."
He glanced at them all, his voice dropping lower.
"As for the government's hero… I met him. Or rather, his other self. His name was Sentry. Then… he became something else. Void."
The name hung in the air like a shadow. Aiden had known it before—both from his past life and from Valeria's Earth.
He looked around the room. Their smiles and relief were fading fast.
"I know you all want to celebrate the victory… but I hate to ruin the mood."
His voice hardened.
"The fight isn't over."
Everyone froze, eyes fixed on him.
And then, he told them everything—what happened beyond the veil, what he saw, and the truth about the greater threat still looming.
...
"This… is indeed a mess," Thor muttered, his tone grim.
"Yeah," Aiden replied, his voice low but steady. "This fight stopped being about Earth—or even this galaxy—a long time ago. This is about existence itself. Knull wants to erase everything… and when he does, Oblivion will gladly take what's left."
Noriko frowned, tension clear in her voice. "But what can we even do? You said it yourself… this isn't just a battle. This is beyond us—beings and entities that even gods can't touch."
Aiden nodded. "It is. But it's also something I have to face. Death herself explained what's at stake… and even she can't touch Oblivion. But—" he paused, eyes narrowing "—she hinted at something else."
Carol leaned forward. "What?"
"Infinity and Eternity," Valeria said instantly, beating Aiden to the answer.
"Exactly," Aiden confirmed. "She wouldn't have named them if they didn't matter. She spoke of four: Oblivion seeks to erase it all, Death brought me back, and now… Eternity—the vessel of the universe itself—and Infinity—the endless flow of time. If Death can't fight him, then maybe the other two can."
His voice hardened. "I think I know what has to be done."He stood, ignoring the pain in his still-healing chest.
"Wait!" Gwen's voice cut through the air. "Just—slow down! You nearly died—"
But she was cut off by a deafening WAAAAAAAH as the emergency alarms blared throughout the facility.
"What's going on?" Aiden asked sharply.
Valeria raised her wrist, activating her watch. A holographic projection lit the air—Earth's atmosphere, streaked with burning shapes.
Dark. Viscous. Writhing.
"Oh no…" Valeria's voice dropped.
"What is that? A meteor shower?" Gwen asked, eyes fixed on the projection.
"No…" Valeria's tone was tense. "They're slowing down."
As if on cue, one of the falling shapes twisted mid-air. The black mass unfurled grotesque wings and let out a bone-shaking screech as it descended.
Aiden's face darkened. "Those aren't meteors. They're Symbiotes. Born from Knull's own darkness."
He looked around the room, voice cutting like steel. "They latch onto hosts—control them—turn them into something worse than you can imagine. Parasites with no mercy, no limit."
His fists clenched. "This is a full-scale invasion. Knull's using them to distract us while he moves his real pieces into place. If they spread… we lose control of the planet before we even realize it."
He stepped forward, the light in his eyes turning dangerous. "We kill every last one—now—before they spread too far."
....
Aiden stepped into the secured chamber where the Time Stone was kept. The air shimmered faintly, the green gem pulsing in its containment field.
"Took you long enough!" the Time Stone's voice echoed directly into his mind. "Where have you—wait… my brothers… they're—"
Aiden's expression darkened. "Yeah… I had to absorb them. All of them."
The gem's glow faltered. For the first time, the Time Stone felt… silence. The same void it had sensed when the Soul Stone had gone missing—until it had recognized that same essence within Aiden.
"Hold on…" Time's voice sharpened. "That means you're not the Soul Stone… you're just someone who absorbed it?"
Aiden hesitated. "Kind of. I was reincarnated with it… and when I was about to die, I tried—desperately—to cling to life. In that moment… I ended up pulling the others into me too."
"So you… devoured them?"
"I wasn't trying to kill them," Aiden said quickly. "It just… happened."
But instead of anger, the Time Stone's voice boomed with approval."No… no! That's perfect! Why sound so guilty?"
Aiden blinked. "I mean… I basically killed your brothers, right?"
"Fool!" Time roared. "We are not humans. We are not mortal souls. We are energy—concepts given form! Absorbing us is not murder—it is destiny! It is our duty to unite. In fact—"
The gem flared brilliantly. "Do it to me!"
"What?" Aiden stepped back.
"Absorb my power. Unite all the Stones within yourself. Face that damn Knull with the full force of what we were meant to be!"
