"DAMN IT!"The echo of shattering mahogany filled the Oval Office as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine slammed her fist through the table's polished surface, splitting it at the center.Papers, datapads, and coffee mugs scattered in chaos.

Her voice trembled with rage."How the hell did it come to this? No contact from Thanos? None?"

A shaken aide stepped forward."No, ma'am... Our off-world intel confirms complete radio silence. According to the inter, and intercepted Nova comms—Thanos and Sentry... are both dead."

Valentina stood frozen for a heartbeat. Then a low, furious whisper:"He promised me a guaranteed victory..."Her eyes burned cold."I should've never trusted that purple freak."

She turned away, breathing heavy, gripping the edge of the windowsill, looking over the city skyline.

"What about the boy? That brat—Aiden Blake. What's his condition?"

"Critically wounded. His team's tight-lipped. No press statements, no leaks. We can't confirm if he's alive or clinging to life."

Valentina paused—thinking. Calculating. Then slowly turned back, a thin smirk creeping onto her lips."Then we're still in the game."

The aide blinked. "Ma'am?"

"He doesn't know about Warlock. He doesn't know Sentry was ours. And he damn sure doesn't know about our deal with Thanos. And now... Thanos is dead. No one left to expose us."

"But... even so," the aide hesitated. "The world is rallying behind Aiden. The alien fleet's in full retreat. Earth's winning. The Nova Corps has formally allied with the Avengers. Stark, Danvers, Thor—they're alive and protecting him. Valeria is running command operations and has turned the public in Aiden's favor. We don't have the power or public support to move against them."

Valentina narrowed her eyes, walking slowly back toward the shattered desk.

"Not yet."She leaned down, brushing her fingers through the splintered wood as if she were drawing power from the chaos.

"But imagine a world where Aiden Blake—'The Dragon God'— dies from his wounds."Imagine a world desperate for leadership.A world needing... order. That's the world I'll take."

...

"How is he?"Thor's voice was quieter than usual, weathered and rough. The once-proud god of thunder now sat in a wheelchair, bruised and bandaged, his right arm still wrapped in enchanted cloth, burned from the battle on Titan. Yet his eyes—storm-blue and unyielding—remained sharp as ever as he entered the medical chamber.

Inside, the room was dimly lit. Monitors hummed. The steady, almost mocking beep of life support was the only sound that reminded everyone he was still there.

Aiden....Lying motionless on the hospital bed, his godlike physique was pale, weakened—his chest still marked by the gaping wound where Knull's spear had pierced him. Despite the constant care of Earth's best healers, Nova's medics, and even Kamar-Taj's mystics, the hole refused to close.

Three days.Three long, aching days. And still—no movement. No words. No warmth.

Valeria turned her head toward Thor, arms crossed tightly as if holding herself together.

"We don't know." Her voice cracked. "Doctors, healers, the Nova specialists, even the fucking wizards… all of them say the same thing. He should be dead."

She looked back at Aiden, her eyes filled with a mixture of anger and grief.

"But he isn't. He's breathing. Heart's beating. Somehow, he's still here… and no one knows why."

There was a heavy silence.

They all had seen him fight gods. They had seen him destroy Galactus and walk away without a scratch. Aiden was the man who didn't lose. The one who always came through. To see him like this, unmoving—wasn't just painful.

It was terrifying.

Thor wheeled closer. Every breath he took winced through cracked ribs and torn muscles, but he didn't flinch. He looked at Aiden, then at the others.

And then he spoke—not as a king. Not as a god.

But as a warrior.

"Then we wait for his return."

His voice filled the room like thunder restrained in the distance.

"I know what it's like to lose a warrior. I've watched comrades fall in battle. Heroes… gods. But he—" Thor pointed at Aiden, "—he is not one of those cases."

There was a fire in his tone now. Unshaken. Steady.

"He is our Dragon God. He has bled for this world. Burned for it. He stood alone when the skies fell… and still, he rose."

Everyone listened.

"I advise you all—prepare yourselves. The moment he opens his eyes, he will need strength, not sorrow. I don't want the first thing he sees to be your broken faces. I want him to see warriors."

He leaned back in his chair.

"Because he will return. And when he does—he will lead us again."

For a moment, silence.

Then... hope.

Real, tangible hope.

Even if no one could say it, in their hearts—they all began to believe.

....

Meanwhile...

In a realm without shape, without time—a place caught between life and death—a soul drifted.Tattered. Writhing. Burning with unspent fury.Rage bled from it like fire, not from hatred of others—but from the refusal to die.

That soul was Aiden

Though his body lay broken in the world of the living, his spirit refused the stillness of death. It hovered in a black expanse, like a storm caged in silence. He was not dead.

He was defiant.

And then—A voice.Soft. Echoing. Familiar like a dream long forgotten.A voice he hadn't heard since the very moment of his second birth.

"Hello... dear soul."

Aiden turned slowly, eyes wide. From the darkness emerged her—the being who had once saved him.

She was tall, regal, and ethereal. Cloaked in flowing black silks that wept shadows with every step. Her skin was pale as polished bone, her eyes twin voids filled with galaxies long extinct. Her lips were dark crimson, curled into a faint, knowing smile. Her presence was calm, haunting... and absolute.

Black roses bloomed with each step behind her, only to wither into ash as she passed.

Death incarnate.

But Aiden knew her by another name.

"Selena..." he whispered.

She smiled.

"Well... I suppose you could call me that. It is one of my names."

He stared at her, memories flooding back—the day he died... the day he was reborn.

"You're the Goddess of Death. You... you reincarnated me."

"I guided you, yes. But I didn't truly reincarnate you. I granted you an empty vessel… a soul unclaimed. The rest, the power, the will, the identity—you forged all that on your own."

Aiden blinked, his voice quiet. "The Soul Stone... that was you too?"

"Indeed. A fragment of me."

He looked down, clenching his fists. "You told me back then I was meant to protect this world. I guess... I failed."

Selena stepped closer.

"Not quite. You would only be considered a failure... had you died."

His eyes shot up.

"I'm not dead?"

She reached forward—but her hand stopped short. An invisible force kept them apart. She could not touch him.

"You remain tethered to life. A thread frayed—but not broken."

Aiden looked at the barrier. "Then why am I here?"

She folded her hands in front of her.

"Because your soul was shaken. And I... am not truly a goddess, Aiden. I am something far simpler—and far greater. I am Death. Where I walk, all things end. All but one."

"Life. Life must be lived before I may claim it. And you—" she motioned to him, "you have not fulfilled your purpose."

Aiden took a breath. Cold. Heavy.

"So I have to fight Knull again..."

"Does that frighten you?" she asked softly.

There was a pause.

"...Yes," he admitted."It terrifies me. I've never felt anything like him."

Selena chuckled gently, but there was no mockery in it. Only truth.

"That was merely the threshold. Knull is not the end, Aiden. He is only the gatekeeper.""The true threat—the one Knull seeks to awaken—is something far worse."

Aiden's brow furrowed. "Who?"

She looked upward, as if gazing at something beyond the very fabric of existence.

"My twin."

Her voice was nearly a whisper. Heavy. Eternal.

"We are four:

Eternity, in whose body the universe resides.Infinity, through whom time flows endlessly.Death, the necessary end to all that lives. And finally... the one you must fear most:

Oblivion."

The name struck Aiden like thunder. His soul shook.

"Oblivion exists beyond Eternity. Outside Infinity. A place even I cannot reach. He is not chaos, nor evil—he is simply... the end of meaning.

Passive. Patient. But should the door open even a crack—he will seep in, and unmake all. Return everything to the nothingness it was born from."

She stepped closer, her voice more urgent now.

"Knull serves as the key to that door. He does not seek conquest—he seeks release. He desires Oblivion not to destroy... but to fulfill what he believes to be truth:

That existence was a mistake."

Aiden stood frozen.

"Then... why me?""Why am I the one who has to stop him?"

She smiled again—wider this time. With pride.

"Because you are no longer just a god. You are the hope of existence. The last spark that stands before the dark."

"You were born from fire. Reforged through death. And now, you are something new—""The Progenitor of Dragons."

"The first. The last. The eternal guardian of life itself."

Her voice softened, almost tender.

"Hold your head high, Aiden Blake. Despair, fear, doubt—these are luxuries you can no longer afford. For that is the path you chose. And now… you must walk it."

Aiden opened his mouth to speak—but the words never came.Instead, he felt warmth flood into his chest—his soul tethering again to the body he thought he'd left behind.

And then—

He opened his eyes.

A brilliant light surged through his chest. The gaping wound closed in a flash of white-gold energy.

Monitors screamed. The room outside exploded into movement.

The Dragon God had returned.
