The Outer God: Thousand-Faced Moon, Hydra!
Once, at the edge of the crystalline walls of the Greek Pantheon's Mythological World, Hades encountered Hydra for the first time.
At that time, Hades could only flee. He had not yet even reached the level of a God-King. Facing Hydra, even meeting its gaze spelled near-certain death.
Now, however, things had changed.
Hades stood as an equal to Hydra, both of them Ancient Gods.
Hades was no ordinary Ancient God, and Hydra, as an Outer God, was a monstrous entity even among its kind.
Because of this, Hades knew he needed to reclaim what he had once lost. The memory of that crushing defeat was less about failure itself and more about the lingering shadow it left—a psychological scar that could plague even the strongest of gods.
For ordinary deities, such an experience might become an eternal nightmare.
Even for Hades, the ghost of that memory had the potential to manifest in moments of vulnerability.
As Hades progressed toward greater levels of divinity—toward Creator God, toward Absolute God—he knew he had to confront his inner demons. Breaking free from such barriers was a necessity on the path to ascendancy.
This was why Hades remained. When the Serpent Evil God fell, it had called out to Hydra in its final moments. Hydra's imminent arrival was precisely why Hades had not left.
Some matters needed to be resolved decisively.
Elsewhere, Absolute Gods, Evil Gods of similar rank, and transcendent beings watched from afar, their attention fixed on this unfolding clash.
Hades vs. Hydra.
Who would emerge victorious?
For those observing from the chaotic sea, it was a rare spectacle. Battles between Ancient Gods and Evil Gods were exceedingly uncommon, and encounters of this scale were nearly unheard of.
Absolute Gods seldom fought—such battles often ended inconclusively.
And for any being below their rank, venturing into the chaotic sea was almost certain death.
Thus, combat between Ancient Gods in the chaotic sea was an event worth watching.
This time was no exception.
Hades and Hydra were formidable entities, both standing at the pinnacle of their respective domains.
Hades, among the most powerful Ancient Gods, was nearly invincible at his level, surpassed perhaps only by exceptions like Gaia in her prime.
Hydra, an established force within the Cthulhu Pantheon, was equally terrifying—a creature that epitomized chaos and monstrosity.
The outcome of this clash was a matter of great curiosity for the many onlookers.
Hades watched Hydra silently, his gaze calm and unwavering.
Hydra, maintaining its grotesque form, mirrored his stillness. Invisible ripples of power radiated from both beings, the divine energy of Hades colliding with the corruptive force of Hydra.
The chaotic sea boiled with their energy, a clash of pure divinity against unholy malevolence.
For now, there was no clear victor.
"Hades…"
The voice was eerie and impossible to classify as male or female. It seeped into Hades' mind like an insidious whisper, seeking to corrode his soul and will.
Yet Hades remained unperturbed, his expression calm.
Though he said nothing, his gaze conveyed a clear message: Hydra, enough of these trivial games. They are meaningless.
"Amusing…"
"Last time, you were nothing more than an ant beneath my gaze."
"And now, you've grown so strong."
"How delightful. Your soul, your flesh, your life—it must taste so much sweeter now than it would have back then."
Hydra's voice, initially corrupt and decayed, became increasingly deranged, its tone escalating into wild madness. Its grotesque form exuded an aura of chaos so intense it could have corrupted lesser gods instantly.
Hydra's excitement was palpable, its twisted essence pulsing with dark anticipation.
Hades, however, remained composed, his calm gaze containing the infinite duality of life and death—the principles of the Underworld that he commanded.
Under his divine authority, all seemed to fall into eerie silence.
"Boring…"
Hydra's tone shifted, tinged with mockery. "Underworld gods are always so dull. But when they die… when they fall, their screams of despair are the sweetest symphony."
With a roar, Hydra unleashed its power.
The gray sea of sludge that composed its form erupted, countless heads morphing into twisted figures, rushing toward Hades.
These figures were the remnants of lives Hydra had consumed—humans, gods, other species, even worlds.
Once absorbed by Hydra, they became part of its grotesque collection, their sentience extinguished but their forms twisted into eternal servitude.
For Hydra, devouring the intellect and agony of its victims was the ultimate pleasure.
Yet, Hades remained unmoved.
"Pointless."
His voice was cold and emotionless, carrying the weight of death itself. As his divine power surged, the corrupted figures disintegrated, dissolving into nothingness in the chaotic sea.
The battle seemed subdued, neither side appearing to gain the upper hand. Both Hades and Hydra were testing each other.
But Hydra's frenzy only grew.
"Magnificent!"
"Such divine power, such a soul…"
"Your death, Hades, will be my masterpiece!"
Hydra's form began to shift, collapsing inward. From the center of its grotesque mass emerged a humanoid figure.
This was Hydra's Evil God Form, the embodiment of its true strength.
Despite their chaotic origins, even Evil Gods possessed humanoid forms—a relic of the chaotic sea's primal laws, established by the Supreme Transcendent at the dawn of creation.
In this form, Hydra's power reached its peak.
Dark green hair cascaded over a face that defied categorization, blending masculine and feminine traits into a single, unsettling visage. Its body reflected this ambiguity, an amalgam of both genders' characteristics.
Hydra's mouth curled into a sinister smile, its gaze fixed on Hades with unrelenting greed and madness.
"You are perfect, Hades. The finest feast I have ever laid eyes on!"
"Enough games!"
Hydra declared, raising its arms. Dark green energy surged forth, a tidal wave of raw destructive force bearing down on Hades.
No finesse, no complexity—Hydra fought with sheer overwhelming power.
This was the hallmark of Evil Gods: brute force that sought to crush any opposition through sheer intensity.
Hades stood firm. With a single motion, his own divine energy surged forward to meet Hydra's attack.
The chaotic sea trembled as their powers clashed.
The battle had truly begun.
