Chapter 157 - 12

"Make sure to get those documents to Ainz-sama as soon as you can. Now get going."

Deep within the heart of the great tomb of Nazarick's 7th floor, was the floor guardian of the area, Demiurge. His great master had bestowed upon him the privilege to sign off on the policies for the newly gained piece of land in their culling they had recently committed. He was not as fast as say, Albedo would be, as this was one of her specialties, and his master could somehow glance at a document and then stamp it, as if he immediately knew what it was and how it would help them. He was always awed every time he saw that.

But as he had been attempting to strengthen his masters great nation, he had noticed somethings among the pile of documents. They were some of his and Albedo's and his own suggestions, as well as things that he had sent out to gain permission to use some of the resources of Nazarick to further his plan.

While Demiurge had initially though that maybe his master had left those here by mistake, he quashed the notion almost as soon as it came. His lord simply cannot make mistakes, he is perfect in every way. Which could only mean that he had left those papers here on purpose for Demiurge to find. Which meant that his master had either already known what they were going to suggest before they even came up, which was highly likely, but there was another idea that Demiurge dared to entertain.

His great master may have been allowing him to sign off these Documents on his behalf. He initially was about to scold himself for thinking so boldly, but then he remembered his masters words.

"I am entrusting these documents to you Demiurge as I know that your knowledge is extremely vast, and your adept at seeing the future of the sorcerer kingdom. I believe that you know my intentions better than anyone else in Nazarick, and that is why I feel confident in entrusting this work to you."

While at the time he had just thought he was talking about the Kingdom, he now realized that he may have been talking about these all along, and if that meant what he thought it did...

He would have shed a tear in that moment if he was not in the middle of his work. All of Nazarick was truly unworthy to receive the grace and mercy their wonderful lord has shown to all of them. They all were born to serve, yet there supreme overlord had still chosen to thank them all for there tiring work. Perhaps one day they may even prove to be competent enough that there creators would return to them. While he deeply cherished everything his realm had to offer by his creator, it was only natural to miss the presence of ones god.

As Demiurge was reminiscing about these memories that had occurred only the day before, he had suddenly received a message which snapped him out of it. Nobody in Nazarick would dare misplace whose great voice that was.

{"Demiurge."}

{"Yes my lord, how may this servant be of use to you?"}

{"I do not need anything from you at present, but I do require your presence. Please come to my chambers in Nazarick. There is somebody here who wishes to see you."}

While he was confused at his phrasing as his master would normally be very direct with what he was talking about, he knew better than to question the will of the supreme one.

{"Of course Ainz-sama, I shall immediately make the appropriate preparations and head to your side."}

as the message terminated, Demiurge prepared himself to head for the gateway connecting the 7th and 9th floors. He checked his suit for any soot they may have accumulated, or any remaining blood from working in the farm, and after seeing there was none, headed out in the direction of his master.

After they had stepped through the gate, He had sent Crepuscule away for the time being so he and Ulbert could converse. As his gaze left from her to him he noticed that Ulbert had been standing in place with his mouth open. He simply was enthralled by the location he now found himself in. he stayed this way for a few moments before he was finally able to utter

"M-momonga-san, i-isn't this..."

"Nazarick yes. Evidently It came with me when I was transported a while back."

"Fufu..."

While he didn't know why his friend was laughing to himself, if he had to guess, it was because he found it funny going from the bottom of society, to straight to the top. Either that or he was experiencing child-like glee, much like Ainz had when he had first come here at seeing the base they had all built together, truly exist.

"So, everything is real now huh, hey Momonga-san, did any other guilds come with us as well?"

"So far I haven't been able to find any no."

"This really is, fufu..."

Once again he had launched into another fit of chuckling at this news reaching his ears, and what could only be described as a smile began to form on his face.

"so what your saying Momonga-san is that were the strongest force on the planet. They we are now to these people what the mega-corporations were to us?" he could tell why his friend was so excited now. After being oppressed all his life, and having truly bleak views on the world, he was now thrust into the position of one who did the oppressing. Granted he was sure with all his talk of hating the system, he wouldn't just implement that system in this world. But simply was relishing the power he now possessed.

"It would seem so. I'm sure you know I am the king of this country by now, for better or for worse."

"Indeed, and it would seem your doing a great job, compared to the other countries I've either heard of or been to, you seem to be doing a great job."

"Well its not really me that does it, it was just the direction I wanted to take it. A utopia that would make anyone wish to live here."

"Well I sure as hell would want to." as he said this, he threw himself backwards, allowing the ginormous bed behind him to absorb the impact and form around him as if it were water. "hah... its nice to finally be able to enjoy the nice things in life huh Momonga-san?"

"well I do agree to some extent, but I can't enjoy half of them due to my being a skeleton and all. Plus it honestly feels way to gaudy for my taste since I just lived in a shoddy apartment."

"Maybe, but I would take a bit gaudy over dilapidated any day." Ulbert simply closed his eyes and descended even further into the cloud-like fabric. While Ainz was about to say "You have your own bed you know?", he decided to hold his non-existent tongue for the sake of letting his friend enjoy himself. "Now I really am glad that we spent so much time into building this place. Hell I even remembering a few times where harped on about not filling the data capacity with useless things like bedrooms or canteens. All I can say to that now is, thanks for ignoring me."

Ainz merely nodded as an affirmative.

"Still though, how much of Nazarick is now real? Were our treasures and such brought here as well?"

"Of course Ulbert-san. Everything is now real. Even the NPC's are now their own beings that see us as gods. Though that brings me enormous stress, it is nice to have their loyalty."

At the mention of the NPC's, Ulbert snapped up so fast that his imprint in the bed was still visible. "Wait, so they are all real? Is there backstory and everything real as well?" He had said all this while trying to hide a smile that was slowly manifesting.

Ainz didn't even need to ask why. Ulbert was always known to be obsessed with the romantic side of villainy. Not the act of evil deeds themselves, but just the very showy and smug way that they conducted there evil. It was almost a art form to him. As if the Villains plan itself was a play that was set up from the start to spin the story to the hero's defeat.

All of these elements he had so cherished had gone into his creation, so their was no doubt why he would want to see him.

"Indeed it has Ulbert-san. Not only that, but they've adopted personality traits from their creators. There all basically the children of our friends."

"What is Demiurge like?" he had already guessed this question was about to come up, so he had already prepared an answer.

"I would not be able to have created this world without him. His intelligence is truly astonishing, and he is unexpectedly quite a gentle person to those in Nazarick. Yet he seems to believe that were always like 200 steps ahead of whatever he has thought of, and will often act coy because of that. And because I know why you asked, yes, he is quite the evil mastermind."

"Well where is he now? I would love to actually meet him face-to-face." Ainz could not help but smile after seeing his friend so happy, of course, his face did not change. when in game, he would often talk about depressing topics to those who could bear to listen, namely the state of the world, so it was refreshing to see this side of him.

"I'll summon him here so you can talk with him if you like." After saying this, Ainz cast his message spell to notify Demiurge of his location. Even though he felt embarrassed by the way he had said "someone wants to see you", he couldn't help himself since he wanted to see the reaction of the NPC's meeting there creator again in person, so he chose to keep it a secret.

"Well while we wait for him to arrive, how about I tell you about some of his schemes he has created over the years? I'm still recovering from the Jaldabaoth incident he created."

"Sounds good."

As Demiurge walked through the hallways of the 9th floor towards his masters personal room, he made one final gloss over of his appearance before going further. While he had already checked when setting out, he could not bear to let his master see him with any sort of blemish. That was a mark of shame for any guardian.

Once he was satisfied with his grooming, he moved toward the great doors beyond and politely knocked. While he had been told to come hear by his ,aster, no one in the tomb would dare enter this sacred place without being polite. If one did do that, execution would be the only way to alleviate their sins.

"Enter"

Once his master gave the affirmative, he strode into the bedroom and immediately genuflected before his master. "Ainz-sama, I am ready to serve."

"Stop that, I already said before you had come here that I didn't have anything for you to do for me, but rather someone I wanted you to see. Though I must thank you for heeding my call."

"Of course Ainz-sama! As one of your esteemed guardians, we would not dare do anything else, as it was what we were made to do! Please, there is no need to thank us."

"While I still have reservations about that way of thinking, I'll at least honor it for now."

"You are to kind. Now, if I may, who was it that I was meant to see?" Demiurge was truly curious at this question, and he had been trying to guess who it was all the way here. But he gave up after remembering that trying to catch up to his great master was a truly pointless endeavor. But that won't stop him from trying to be at a level where he can at least assist them.

"Wow, he's exactly as I imagined him."

As he waited for his masters answer, a unfamiliar voice came from another section of the room. It sounded so familiar, yet completely unknown to him. Though his great master had not granted him leave to, he raised his head to see who the entity was, since it was extremely likely this was who He had wanted him to meet.

As his gaze met the being who had said that, his entire body seemed to freeze up. He was no longer able to articulate words, much less move. Though even if given the choice, he would still choose not to move, either for fear that what he was seeing would vanish, or because this is what he wanted to be seeing.

Before him stood his exalted creator, the demon of disaster, Ulbert Alain Odle.

"Its been a while, Demiurge. I've heard you've been up to all sorts of plans while I was gone. Truly I am impressed."

While it took everything it had in Demiurge to withhold his tears after seeing his creator, he could not contain himself anymore when the first words spoken to him were words of praise for his loyalty and handwork. Two glistening streams made their way down his face, but he didn't care. He didn't have the presence of mind to wipe them away.

"M-m-my lord! I-I truly cannot express how much it pleases me to hear your kind words!" while he knew it was disgraceful, he had to force out a thank you with all the effort he could muster. If he could not even do that, then what good was he?

"Indeed Demiurge, from what I've heard, you have helped Momonga-san a great deal during his reign over the world. It would seem that you have turned out exactly as I had envisioned you.

He was filled with so much happiness that he could only nod. Not only was his creator praising him to this extent, but it also meant that Ainz-sama was pleased with his loyalty, and had said so to Ulbert.

What did he do to deserve such a merciful ruler?

"Well since I know that you want to learn more about each other, I will take my leave for now. Come meet me in the throne room when your done Ulbert-san. After that we can get your old equipment."

"sure thing Momonga-san. But before you go can I ask you a question? Have any other guild members come here as well?"

"Well you see..."

As he was about to continue with his statement, the door to the room suddenly opened revealing a paladin of pure white.

"Hey Momonga-san, I had heard from one of Demiurge's underlings that you had called him to you, so I came to..."

As both parties became aware of eachothers presence, Demiurge suddenly broke out in goosebumps from the sudden shift in the air coming from his master."

"You."
