Chapter 34 - Options

"Where is she?" I asked as my fists slammed into the face of the man beneath me for the umpteenth time. Luke was the last person I expected to turn traitor, and now it made perfect sense to me. I had been the one who was too blind to see how perfect he was. Nobody could be like that without keeping skeletons in their cupboard, and I had been an idiot to not recognise that sooner.

"We still need him alive, your grace." Ethan whispered in my ear. He too was barely containing his rage, but unlike me he didn't have a killing intent towards the bloodied traitor on the floor.

Angry and full of hate, I rose from Luke's unconscious body and stormed out of the place. This was the worst that could happen, and it had happened right under our noses. I felt so mad at myself, and I blamed myself more than anybody else. Just when I thought that things were beginning to settle, I got welcomed with even worse news. This was the worst of my days, and I felt like I was in a nightmare.
