Chapter 12 - A Talk With The Book

Dabi: "Listen carefully, pet."

He hissed, slapping Overhaul hard across the face to ensure his full attention.

Dabi: "From now on, you will address me as 'Master.' If I hear anything else leave your lips, I'll make sure the next few days are even worse than the last."

Dabi: "Did you hear me, you worthless whore?"

Dabi backhanded Overhaul, the sharp snap echoing through the room. He watched as blood trickled from the corner of the villain's mouth.

Dabi: "I said, answer this question. What do you call me now?"

Overhaul: "Yes, Master..."

He whispered, his voice barely audible as he looked up at Dabi with sad, defeated eyes. The once-proud villain was now a shell of his former self, utterly broken and submissive.

A cruel smile spread across Dabi's face at the broken submission in Overhaul's voice. He grabbed a handful of the villain's hair, jerking his head back roughly.

Dabi: "Good boy."

He purred mockingly.

Dabi: "Now open your mouth."

He held up a small pill between his fingers.

Obediently, Overhaul opened his mouth, allowing Dabi to place a small pill on his tongue. He swallowed it without protest, his throat constricting around the foreign object. The pill was bitter and unfamiliar, but he knew better than to question his new master's orders.

Dabi: "...Good boy."

He praised softly, though there was still an underlying threat in his voice. He gently stroked Overhaul's hair, an oddly tender gesture that contrasted sharply with his previous brutal treatment.

Dabi: "The medicine will help with the pain...."

(In his mind).

"I've broken him completely,"

Studying Overhaul's shattered form carefully.

"No longer the fearsome villain. Just my perfect, obedient pet."

He decided to remove the chains, confident that Overhaul would make no attempts to escape.

As Dabi unchained Overhaul, he couldn't shake off a lingering doubt. The absence of the mysterious book that had been inside of Overhaul was unsettling. He hoped his decision to trust the broken villain wasn't a grave mistake. Overhaul lay still, too exhausted and defeated to even consider resistance.

Overhaul remained silent, his body covered in bruises and bite marks. His inner thighs were stained with dried blood and semen - evidence of the non-stop abuse and forced sex. His mind was blessedly blank, numbed by the endless pain and humiliation. He barely registered when Dabi removed his chains.

"I'll go with my gut instinct, but I'll change my approach."

(Out of his mind).

He decided to change his approach, determined to make Overhaul develop Stockholm Syndrome. Instead of brutal beatings and forced sex, he would now show the broken villain kindness and affection. He sat down beside Overhaul, gently brushing the hair out of his face.

Dabi: "You're tired, aren't you?"

Overhaul nodded weakly, his voice too hoarse to speak. His silent submission was almost unsettling in its completeness. Dabi smiled softly, satisfied with his progress so far. He carefully lifted Overhaul into his arms, cradling him.

Dabi carried Overhaul to the bed, his movements surprisingly gentle despite the lack of romantic feelings behind them. He wasn't attracted to men - certainly not in a traditional sense - but he wanted Overhaul's devotion and love solely for him. He wanted the broken villain to crave him.

Dabi: "Do you love me?"

He asked softly, looking down at Overhaul's battered face. His tone was calm yet probing. He wanted to hear those words come from Overhaul's lips - a confession that would seal his victory over the once-proud villain.

Overhaul: "Yes, Master."

He replied quietly, his voice barely audible. His confession lacked sincerity, forced out by the constant mental and physical torture. But Dabi didn't care - he would mold Overhaul's feelings over time, turning the forced confession into genuine love. For now, it was enough.

(At the City).

She stood in the same spot where she had once talked to Overhaul, replaying his words in her mind.

(Flashback).

Alice: "You killed so many women."

She accused, her voice shaking with anger and sadness.

Alice: "For what? Because we looked like the little girl you tortured and abused? You experimented on her for some stupid plan that will never happen because you're just a pawn."

Her words hit Overhaul like physical blows. Her accusations rang true, hitting Overhaul where it hurt most. After thorough investigation, she'd uncovered the truth—Overhaul was indeed a pawn, used by All For One to gather data on quirk-destroying and restoring bullets. The realization was devastating, shattering his already fragile mental state.

Overhaul: "Shut up!"

He snarled, his face contorting with rage.

Overhaul: "I am not a pawn for All For One!"

He took a menacing step towards Alice, his hand balling into a fist.

Overhaul: "I have my own goals, my own vision!" I won't let anyone stand in my way, especially not some woman who looks like my failure!"

He hissed. His eyes, wild with anger and desperation, locked onto Alice's.

Overhaul: "You think you understand me? You know nothing."

(End of Flashback).

(In her mind).

"Just a pawn and nothing more. Had All For One sent Dabi to retrieve him?"

(Out of her mind).

(At the League Of Villains Base).

Shigaraki: "What happened here?"

Shigaraki asked, confusion evident in his voice as he surveyed the partially destroyed base.

Shigaraki: "A Hero must've come."

He murmured to himself in shock.

He immediately ran towards the other side of the base and headed inside, only to find nobody there except for a few members and a familiar face.

He turned to Dabi, his voice carrying an undertone of urgency.

"Why is Overhaul here?"

He asked him.

Shigaraki's sudden appearance caught Dabi off guard. He quickly composed himself, a smirk playing on his lips as he turned to face his fellow villain leader.

Dabi: "Overhaul is here because he belongs to me now."

He replied casually, his arm still wrapped possessively around Overhaul's waist.

Shigaraki: "You know I'm not going to say anything about it."

Shigaraki said calmly, a hint of acceptance in his tone as he turned away from Dabi.

Shigaraki: "Judging by Overhaul's expression, he seems to have found some 'inner peace'."

Shigaraki's calm acceptance surprised Dabi. He hadn't expected the other villain to understand his intentions so quickly. Overhaul's battered face did indeed look... different. Less angry, more... submissive. Dabi's smirk widened slightly at Shigaraki's words.

Dabi: "You're right."

He agreed softly.

Overhaul: "..."

(In his mind).

"Where's the book and that goat cultist? I haven't seen them in days."

He thought to himself, his brow furrowing slightly in confusion. The sudden absence of his usual companions was unusual, and it left him feeling... strangely unmoored.

Overhaul's thoughts wandered as he listened to Shigaraki and Dabi converse. The absence of the mysterious book and its cultist bothered him deep down, despite his broken state. Something felt off about their disappearance. But Overhaul was too exhausted and beaten to do anything about it.

Without warning, Overhaul found himself teleported to an unfamiliar world - The Town That Never Stops Bleeding. He blinked rapidly, disoriented as he took in his surroundings. The streets were littered with corpses, and the air was thick with the coppery scent of blood.

The Goat Cult Leader: "This world is a sanctuary for those who have fully unlocked the power of the book."

He explained calmly, his glowing eyes fixed on Overhaul.

The Goat Cult Leader: "Four individuals will be summoned here, and you, Overhaul, are one of them."

Overhaul stared back, his mind racing with questions.

Overhaul: "Four individuals?"

He echoed, his confusion growing.

Overhaul: "But if the book's power is supposed to be so powerful, why am I still trapped as Dabi's... his..."

He trailed off, his face twisting with frustration and humiliation.

Overhaul: "I'm still his damn sex toy!"

The Goat Cult Leader: "It seems you're not as broken as I thought."

He commented calmly, curiosity piqued.

The Goat Cult Leader: "Have you ever tried speaking to the book?"

He asked, knowing that it was unlikely for Overhaul to engage in such an activity.

The cult leader's calm yet knowing tone caught Overhaul off guard.

Overhaul: "Talk to the book?"

He repeated, his brow furrowed.

Overhaul: "What do you mean? It's just an object..."

Yet, something about those words made him hesitate. Had he ever truly tried communication with the book?

The Goat Cult Leader: "Try speaking with it and you'll find the answer."

He said calmly, his voice carrying a hint of mystery.

The Goat Cult Leader: "You might be the first link in history to ever speak to the book directly."

As he finished speaking, the book suddenly materialized right in front of Overhaul.

Overhaul: "I need your help."

He pleaded desperately, his voice trembling with a mix of fear and doubt. Despite having asked for assistance before, he couldn't shake the lingering uncertainty about whether he could defeat Dabi, having lost twice already.

Overhaul: "I don't want to become Dabi's sex toy."

The Book: "You have uncertainty."

The book replied through its pages.

The Book: "The reason why you lost twice was because you couldn't properly handle me. My power is too strong for you."

Overhaul stared at the book, his heart pounding with anxiety and frustration.

As he stared at the book, a sudden realization dawned on him. He remembered how the book's power would always mysteriously disappear whenever he fought against Dabi, or even when heroes tried to intervene. The pattern was clear now—his power was being suppressed or negated somehow during those critical moments.

The Book: "I grant partial power."

The book communicated through its turning pages.

The Book: "With four links upon me, I'm not sure you're prepared for my full strength. It may harm the original link, but I assume your pride prevents you from caring about that."

The pages rustled ominously.

Overhaul: "I'll do anything to get away from him!"

He exclaimed desperately, his voice breaking with emotion.

Overhaul: "I don't want to be broken—I don't want to fall in love with him!"

The book seemed to absorb his plea as its pages fluttered rapidly.

The Book: "I'll grant your wish."

The book communicated in a solemn tone.

The Book: "I'll give you full power..."

The pages turned with increased speed.

The Book: "...But listen well. The original link will likely break under its weight."

Overhaul took a deep breath, resolute in his choice.

Overhaul: "I don't care. I don't know who's Original Link is anyway."

(Out of his mind).

As Overhaul stood there, lost in thought and staring at Dabi trying to act nice towards him in front of Shigaraki.

Dark energy burst forth again, this time stronger than ever before. It swirled around Overhaul like a storm, his eyes turning completely black once more. His quirk, now amplified, hummed dangerously within him. He could feel its immense power pulsating through his veins.

Dabi: "What the fuck...?"

He muttered, his eyes widening as he suddenly felt an immense, heavy energy emanating from Overhaul. The sudden burst of power was so strong that it caused both Dabi and Shigaraki to stumble backward, falling onto the floor with a loud thud.

Dabi: "Damn."

He cursed under his breath as he activated his quirk, using Random's power to enhance his flames. However, for some reason, the flames didn't ignite as they should have—something was blocking his abilities. His eyes widened with realization that perhaps something had happened to Random.

Dabi: "Random! I need your assistance!"

He shouted loudly, his voice echoing through the room. He received no response. His brow furrowed deeply, knowing something was seriously wrong. He tried again.

Dabi: "Random?"

No answer. His expression darkened.

Dabi: "Shit."

Overhaul: "I told you not to mess with me!"

He roared. With the book's full power coursing through him at one hundred percent, waves of unimaginable energy spread out from his location like a shockwave. Buildings crumbled, streets split apart, and mass destruction echoed throughout Japan once again.

Random remained silent, not responding to any of Dabi's calls or attempts to communicate with him. Dabi quickly grabbed a stunned Shigaraki, helping him up as they both sprinted away from Overhaul's epicenter of destruction—running for their lives amidst the chaos and devastation spreading across Japan.

Overhaul: "Eri! I'm coming for you!"

He screeched loudly, his voice carrying on powerful sound waves that reverberated throughout Japan. The message was clear and intended for Eri's ears alone; he knew she was being protected by the heroes and hoped she would hear his call amidst the chaos.

The book's power surged to an infinite percent, the energy waves it emitted spreading throughout the entire world with devastating consequences. Buildings, cities, and entire countries were leveled as the sheer force of Overhaul's obsession for Eri fueled the book's endless power. The destruction was catastrophic and global in scale.

As the brilliant white light faded and the energy waves receded, Overhaul's eyes remained completely black - an eerie reminder of the infinite power that still boiled within him. With surefooted precision, he began to walk slowly but deliberately, his mind perfectly aware of where his precious Eri was located.

Suddenly appearing right behind Overhaul with a mischievous grin, Random snapped his fingers - returning briefly to his playful demonic self from his days with Toya. But Overhaul was faster; turning back abruptly he used the book's infinite power against Random himself - sending everyone in the entire world to Random's World.

Random: "You're playing right into the goat cult's hands!"

He snapped at Overhaul, his voice laced with frustration.

Random: "Don't you get it? They feed off destruction - you're giving them exactly what they want - every world could be doomed because of this!"

Overhaul: "I don't care about the consequences!"

He roared back at Random, his voice echoing menacingly through the empty world they now inhabited.

Overhaul: "All I want is to find Eri - to end her life once and for all! The destruction means nothing compared to my obsession!"

Random's frustration turned into resignation as he realized Overhaul was beyond reasoning with—his obsession with Eri had consumed him entirely.

This will continue in the next chapter.
