Eiravyne didn't move.
Neither did Urag.
His hands remained on her skin a moment too long, warm, trembling, devoted,and then, as if the realization of what he had said caught up with him, Urag blinked and slowly pulled away.
Eiravyne glanced down at her lap, unsure whether to smile or apologize, or say anything at all.
But now…
He stood.
Too quickly.
"I'll…" his voice cracked faintly before he cleared it, carefully. "I'll send for the maid. She'll help you …."
Her eyes shot up to him.
He didn't meet them.
He didn't dare.
And before she could answer, before she could reach for him again, he was gone.
The door closed behind him with an almost shy softness.
The maid came in not long after.
She helped Eiravyne to the bath, washed her hair with slow, soothing movements, as if careful not to disturb her.
Eiravyne let it all happen in silence.
