"I am sure you know that we are from different backgrounds. I don't want my daughter to be tormented by your family." Mr. Shen said.
Frankly it was no surprise that he had that fear, with Hu Yiting's aristocratic family, he would be required to marry someone from his class. He didn't want his daughter to face torment in his family because of her background.
Besides with this families, they always have marriages arranged for them for more power. It has always been known that aristocratic married other aristocratic.
"My family will not torment her." Hu Yiting spoke.
"How can I believe that? Don't you normally always have your marriages arranged." Mr. Shen asked.
"Yes, it is usually like that, but I am not in the line to take over my family business. Also, the marriage that was arranged to me was cancelled when me and the woman came of age, we declined it." Hu Yiting asked, and Shen Mu's eyes went wide, she had no idea that he was engaged to someone before.
"What if she wants to come back? Will my daughter be the one to face her furry?" He asked.
"That won't happen." Hu Yiting said calmly.
"How could you be so sure?" He asked again.
"Because she is my brother's fiancé and they are to get married soon." Hu Yiting replied.
"Sir, you don't have to worry Shen Mu has met my mother and my mother loves her so much, she can't wait to embrace her daughter-in-law." Hu Yiting said with a small smile.
"Really?" Mr. Shen asked looking at Shen Mu.
"Yes, father she is really kind, and she doesn't mind about our background difference." Shen Mu reassured her father.
"Alright, come with me." Mr. Shen said to Shen Mu to follow him.
Mr. Shen and Shen Mu went to his study, once they were inside, he told her to close the door. Shen Mu closed the door, she walked and sat down.
"Are you happy with him?" He asked.
"Yes father, he treats very well." Shen Mu replied.
"Does he now? You know out of the children you are the one I always worry about the most. You are always so kindhearted and I would hate it if he ends up treating you wrong." He spoke.
"Dad!" Shen Mu said softly.
"If you are sure that he is the one then I won't stop you, but you should always remember that if he doesn't treat you right, you can always come back to me okay." Mr. Shen said.
They talked for a little while and Shen Mu walked over and embraced her father in a tight hug. Shen Mu was the last born out of five children, she was the only one who was still staying in the city, other two stayed in other cities, and the other two stayed out in another country.
