Shen Mu and Hu Yiting were walking down the stairs when they heard the front door open with force. Shen Mu was startled, Hu Yiting was in front of her. Hu Yiting watched his mother storm into the house in her pajamas and knew his housekeeper had called her.
"Mom, you could have at least changed your clothes." Hu Yiting spoke.
When Shen Mu heard that it was Hu Yiting's mother, she froze in place. First of all she was still wearing his clothes, second of all this was not how she wanted to meet his mother. What if his mother misunderstood and ended up not liking her.
"Shut up! I am not here for you." Mrs. Hu said pushing him aside.
"Mom!" Hu Yiting was shocked at the impact.
"There you are!" Mrs. Hu said taking hold of both Shen Mu's hand in her own.
"Come dear, are you tired." Mrs. Hu spoke.
"Move!" She said pushing Hu Yiting out of the way.
Mrs. Hu led Shen Mu to the couch and sat down besides her, Shen Mu's hands was still in Mrs. Hu's own.
"What is your name?" Mrs. Hu asked.
"My name is Shen Mu, Mrs. Hu." Shen Mu introduced herself nervously.
"Mom, I was going to bring her to you. There was no need for you to come all this way in your pajamas." Hu Yiting said sitting across them.
"Shut up! Ignorant brat, was I talking to you?" Mrs. Hu scolded Hu Yiting.
Shen Mu looked at Hu Yiting nervousness written all over her face.
"This is the first time I hear that you have a girlfriend, do you expect me to believe that and not see it with my own eyes. You have been single all your life, bind dates you refused. If you went to blind dates, you end up insulting the ladies. Even your younger brother is getting married soon, but you." Mrs. Hu scolded.
"I want to take a good look at my daughter in law, and not this your ugly face." Mrs. Hu spoke.
"You gave birth to me you know that." Hu Yiting retorted back.
Shen Mu just watched the mother and son argue back and forth.
"Does he bully you?" Mrs. Hu asked turning to Shen Mu.
"No Mrs. Hu, he is really a gentleman." Shen Mu replied.
"As he should." Mrs. Hu said sending a side eye at Hu Yiting.
"Why are you calling me Mrs. Hu, you should start calling me mom." Mrs. Hu said with a frown.
"Yes Mrs. Hu!" Mrs. Hu gave her a look.
"Mom!" Shen Mu said nervously.
"Mm!" Mrs. Hu nodded.
"Hu Yiting, I have decided that she will be my daughter in law, if you do anything to upset her, I will deal with you." Mrs. Hu said pointing a finger at him.
