Chapter 127 - Chapter 127. Moon

Alaric moved on to the next skill he had learned. Stealth. He chuckled at his choice of words. Was it he who had learned it or was it the system? It was his first time trying to learn it. Very ironic.

He then recalled everything that the system had said about Stealth. Stealth was a very complex skill to begin with though. Stealth involved going undetected. That was a general way to explain about stealth.

But Stealth was a complex skill and it did not only involved just wearing masks and tiptoeing as many would expect. It was classified into ten levels and he was at the first level though. He never actively practiced it in the first place.

Stealth was different from Perception in its growth for it was dependent on the effort he put into it while Perception only needed him to get stronger and that was why it had improved after his Soul reached the Supreme Plane while his Stealth remained level one.

Alaric was not discouraged though. He let all information about stealth he dug up from his memory to flow into his mind. The first aspect of Stealth was agility. To improve his Stealth, he had to be agile in the first place.

When it came to agility, he could rank himself to be agile but he knew his agility had gone down as he never had any chance to train since the accident that left him unconcious for two months. He was going to resume his training regime and also improve it.

Agility meant that he had control on his body. He could make his steps as light as possible and also his ability to move his body as he willed it. This involved even reaction speed. But these were just the minimum requirements.

He needed to have control over everything. This included his breathing and heartbeat. He had to make sure that he would not produce any sounds when he was practicing or using Stealth. Another thing he needed control of his aura.

He had to control the energy he released. If he was going to use Stealth, he was going to require to have complete control over his aura. People with strong senses could sense the aura of others without even looking. This meant that even going as quiet as possible did not necessarily mean that one was stealthy.

Alaric had learned how to hide his aura and he had realized that he could hide it from many who were in the Cryptic Plane. That was back then but now he was confident that he could hide from everyone below the Master Plane.

With the help of the system, he was able to hide it from everyone but now that it was gone, he had to do it personally. Aura was an important aspect of Stealth skill. This was all that level one entailed and it mainly dealt with the introduction to stealth.

When one perfected level one, they were now going to be able to move on to level two. But whatever level two entailed, he did not know yet and he could only move blindly. Everytime he hit a rock bottom where he was in lack of information, he could help but think about Sarah.

He sighed as he cleaned away the regret. He had already steeled himself to move on without Sarah. Then there were Intents. Sarah had explained more about them but he only knew about the Death Intent for that was the only one he had learned.

The Undead Body was also one he did not have much information about. But he recalled Sarah saying that his body would not die unless it was damaged beyond repair. He regretted not asking much about it from Sarah.

He had gone through everything concerning his body and energy and all that was left was the Soul. The soul was a complex matter though. He recalled the arrays that he had used on that day.

It was Sarah who had passed them to him and they proved to be powerful. He did not get a chance to ask about its name but from the blood red structure they had and the aura they released, he could only have one feeling coming from them, carnage.

He was going to name them Carnage. Alaric did not know but that was the name they were called. From his current skill though, he knew that he was past the Grandmasters level in arrays.

If anyone realized that there was such a young Array Grandmaster, many would take in cold breaths when they witnessed it. But now he was past that! The next level had around 1000 people and around three quarter of them were only in the first stages of this level.

Almost every one of them were of the Old Generation. They were the ones who had practiced Array till they were old and had reached this level. Reaching this level and even being in the first stage was enough to make you a powerhouse. The same way for Alchemy.

This level was the Moon level. Anyone who could reach this level in array was an old expert. Or rather call them old monsters. Anyone who was an Array Moon, you would not want to cross them.

Fighting against normal array Practitioners, Masters and Grandmasters was a hassle and an endless headache. When it reached an Array Moon, it was a death sentence. Every powerhouse had at least one Array Moon.

Those who were Array Moons were fought for and even newly promoted Array Moons were a hot pie. Alaric was now an Array Moon and he knew that that was not his limit. That said though...

In order fo him to promote to the next level, he had to raise his energy cultivation. There was a limit to how long he could use the soul while using Moon arrays. But he could probably cast Grandmaster arrays for a whole day without getting tired.

It was not the same for Moon arrays though. He could also, if given enough time and resources, cast arrays above the Moon level! If one heard him, let alone saying that he was bragging, no one would believe him in the first place if he said he was in the middle stages of the Master level in Array.

Alaric recalled Sarah's warning. He was to never use his Soul to attack directly. He would use Array to attack drawing energy from the Soul but he should never attack those who were much stronger or closer to the strength of his Soul with his Soul.

He also recalled the branch he had learned called Array Alchemy. As things stood, Alaric had some knowledge about Alachemy he had learned from Sarah but he knew he needed to learn systematically and become an alchemist.

Alaric sighed. He might be able to cast Moon Arrays but he knew very few of them. He needed to go through the library on arrays. This way, he could even create new arrays from them.

If one asked him about the level Carnage was, he would say that it was a low level Moon Array. One could ask how he was able to create communication devices but not many would believe that he knew it naturally.

He recalled Sarah saying that he would awaken his memories of the past life slowly through some dejavu or through sudden encounters. For this case, it was either a dejavu or one could say he found it imprinted in his mind.

It appeared that there was a connection between him and Arrays he was yet to know for the first memory he recalled from the last life was about Arrays. This was also the reason he had a high affinity to Arrays even before he awakened his Soul.

He decided to cap his Array knowldege to Array Master at the late stages when he was in public. He finally opened his eyes after almost one hour. Anyone else would have taken longer. That is if they had undergone the same changes that Alaric had undergone without split minds.

Alaric realized that it was also his time to leave. He did not have a lot of things that he needed to carry. Clothes were the least of his worries since he was already well versed in arrays, he did not think he was going to need bought clothes at all.

He rose from the bed and went to his wardrobe. He picked a towel and soap and headed to the bathroom. He did not take long as he came back drippng wet with the towel tied on his waist.

When he opened his wardrobe, one would expect there to be a lot of clothes but that would be asking for a lot. It was only his backpack which was in there and as he untied his towel and hung it inside, it was obvious that only his towel occupied the wardrobe.

Immediately he dropped the towel, he was engulfed with a golden light and when it was fading, one could see the faint outline of a blue t-shirt and black sweatpants forming. When it faded, he was ready and a pair of blue sneakers formed on his feet.

He reached he backpack and strapped it on his shoulders as he prepared to leave. He dis not forget to insert the remaining Buloke wood in the wardrobe and without a second glance, he locked the door behind him...

Volume 2 ended.

[Author's Note: Okay... This is where I shall end Volume two. The story so far may have been slow and the introduction of the system might have not been satisfying. The same for its removal. But now that its purpose has been accomplished, you can reat assured that the MC who is going to leave a trail of blood in his wake on his way to the top has been birthed. The next chapters are going to have a lot of action and development]
