Upon hearing William's words, Yasa immediately removed her headgear, revealing her dark face. The girl called Nissa hesitated for a few seconds, but when Yasa looked at her, she took off her hood, revealing a seductive face.
Looking at Nissa's face, where two black dots appeared above each eyebrow, a memory surfaced in William's mind. After thinking for a moment, he suddenly remembered—this was the vampire princess from Blade II!
As his thoughts shifted, a beam of light shot from Antonov's helmet, scanning Nissa. Soon, Sunday reported a name to William.
"Elyda Makinos."
Seeing William immediately recognize the two's backers, Yasa's pupils involuntarily contracted, and she couldn't help but reassess William's strength.
She knelt on one knee in respect, saying, "Yes, Duke Devonshire, I serve the bloodline of the Makinos family, and this is Princess Nissa Makinos, the daughter of the Duke."
Nodding at Nissa, William asked, "So, does this mean all of Marcus' subordinates are in the U.S.?"
Yasa dared not answer, but Nissa spoke without hesitation, "Yes, Your Grace. According to the ancient agreement, Elder Emilia's influence is in Eastern Europe, while Victor, the most powerful elder of the vampire race, holds sway in Western Europe."
"Heh, it's a pity Marcus, the founder of your bloodline, didn't make it. Now his descendants, Victor and Emilia, are stronger than him. But, I suppose this is just how things go—thirty years of change. The wild lands of America, which were once nothing, have now become the strongest place in the world."
After mocking them, William didn't bother to look at the sour expressions on Nissa and Yasa's faces. After listening to Sunday's report on Elyda Makinos, his thoughts shifted, and he asked, "Tell me, the bloodthirsty old man, Marcus, who never sleeps and makes himself age quickly, did he send you here to die? Or is there another purpose? Perhaps after I finish here, I'll pay him a friendly visit in the U.S. And don't try to tell me this is just a message. If you can fight, it's assassination. If you can't, it's just a message. Am I wrong? Or perhaps, in accordance with your noble traditions, I could ransom the princess."
Hearing William completely expose their plan, Nissa, who didn't know how long she had left to live, actually became awkward.
Looking at Antonov and the others, she said, "I'm sorry, Duke, but I must speak with you alone."
Perhaps Nissa's shy expression reminded William that if Marcus had truly sent an assassin, he wouldn't have sent his daughter.
"Please take Princess Nissa to the garden room."
Once the virtual image disappeared, Black Ghost extended his hand to Nissa, signaling for her to follow. Antonov and the other three surrounded Yasa, keeping an eye on him.
Nissa removed her weapons and followed Black Ghost through the mansion, crossing the living room and heading to the garden room in the western corner.
After waiting for a few minutes, William, dressed in casual clothes, walked in.
Looking up at the young man standing in front of her, Nissa suddenly had an unbelievable feeling—was this young man really the one who wiped out the entire werewolf slaughterers in London in just one day?
"Please sit, Nissa. Hmm," William apologized. "Should I call you Nissa, or should I refer to you as Princess Makinos?"
"You can call me Nissa, Your Grace," Nissa smiled. "You are the first person to call me princess."
"That's true. Marcus isn't a king and doesn't have the right to bestow such titles on your family."
Even Nissa, with her good temper, couldn't tolerate William's repeated insults.
"Mind your words, Mr. Devonshire. You are speaking to a family that has existed for nearly a thousand years."
"Alright, enough with that," William nonchalantly pointed at the chair in front of him, signaling Nissa to sit down. Once he sat, he asked, "Now, you can finally tell me the real reason you're here."
After glaring at William for a while, and seeing him busy drinking the whiskey Black Ghost brought, Nissa finally sat down, remembering her mission.
She glanced at Black Ghost, who stood six or seven meters away, guarding the door of the garden room. She suddenly realized that even though she was so close to William, her subordinate wasn't worried at all that she might harm William.
Provoking, she showed her fangs and said, "Although the data shows that your marksmanship is excellent, aren't you afraid I might bite you?"
"Given your skills? If it weren't for your face and figure, I wouldn't even look at you," William squinted, lying. "It doesn't matter. Even if you bite me, I have ways to remove the vampire virus."
"What?" Nissa stood up, incredulous. "How is that possible?"
"Who am I?" William sat up straight. "I'm William Devonshire. For me, nothing is impossible."
"Hiss," Nissa hesitated for only a moment before, just as William expected, she suddenly revealed her fangs and lunged at him.
Unfortunately, before she could even stretch her hand out half a meter, a golden circle suddenly appeared in front of her. Then a six-pointed star flashed within the circle.
Unable to stop her movement, Nissa crashed into the special space, and hearing the sound, Black Ghost, who had just turned around, suddenly realized his helmet was completely dark and he couldn't see anything. He hurriedly turned his ear toward William's direction and heard William say, "Leave this place."
"Yes." Understanding that he couldn't see because William didn't want him to, Black Ghost immediately turned and left. The helmet's darkness vanished as he exited.
Once William was alone in the garden room, a series of reflections from the glass around him formed, and soon, the chair, coffee table, and whiskey glass all disappeared along with the room.
Nissa, trapped in the mirror space, looked at the identical garden room but couldn't find any trace of William.
Panic set in, but after a while, she suppressed her fear. She quickly realized that this might be an independent space. Covering her mouth in disbelief, she murmured, "Magic? A wizard?"
Before she could finish, she saw William sitting in a chair not far from her.
Before she could speak, William said, "Have you ever seen magic and wizards?"
Without saying anything, Nissa unwillingly lunged at William, who simply waved his hand.
She ran for several seconds, but the distance between them didn't close at all.
Looking down at her feet, Nissa froze in shock. The ground beneath her feet was moving like an electric escalator, pulling her backward. In a split second, she jumped, trying to charge at William, but the entire space began retreating with her.
Realizing she was completely under control, Nissa grew terrified and yelled at William, "What is this? What exactly is this?"
"Mirror space. It's a magical space independent of the real world. Here, unless you can break the barrier of this space, everything will change according to my will with just a thought," William said, raising his hand. The spot where Nissa had been standing suddenly became a set of stairs that began to tilt. As the angle grew steeper, Nissa's body began to shift, sliding back.
"Run, or else you'll fall into the abyss and never return."
