After thinking for a moment, William said, "At dawn, have someone bring Jessie back. As for Ambrosio... forget it, just assign more personnel to protect her. If her runway show gets interrupted, she won't dare to throw a tantrum, but she'll definitely be disappointed."
"Understood, sir. I'll notify the Brian Squad in the USA to recruit more personnel to protect Miss Ambrosio."
At around 6 PM the next evening, while William was having dinner with his mother, Abigail, and Jessie, Sunday reported to him, "Sir, our sensors have detected several vampire scouts near Garden Street."
"Hmm." William, who was cutting his steak, froze for a moment. "So soon?"
Sunday explained, "It's likely because it has been raining all day across England. There hasn't been any sunlight since 3 PM."
Earlier in the afternoon, William had been napping with Jessie, so he wasn't aware of the weather outside. "Are we ready?"
"Yes, sir. However, after the Daredevil Squad and Eggsy's trio finished clearing out the remaining werewolves in London last night, they moved on to the surrounding cities. For now, we only have combat robots at our disposal."
"Have Antonov and his team of four put on Type-3 combat armor and stand by."
"Orders have been issued."
After finishing his conversation with Sunday, William noticed the curious stares from his mother, Abigail, and Jessie. Smiling, he reassured them, "It's nothing, just a few small fries. I've already made all the necessary arrangements. You can rest assured and stay at home."
Then, turning to his mother, William said, "Mom, please notify Pierce to withdraw the people stationed outside the manor. We don't want any unnecessary casualties."
Lena froze for a moment, then rolled her eyes at William. "I knew I couldn't keep that a secret from you. Since you knew, why didn't you just have Sunday inform me?"
"I thought it would be better for you to have a force at your disposal. That way, you won't have to rely on me for everything," William sighed. "I already control enough power. Besides, Pierce's team members were Grandpa's subordinates. It makes sense for you to oversee them."
"Well, at least you know how to sweet-talk," Lena replied with a satisfied smile, then took out her phone to call Pierce.
By 11 PM, the persistent rain had made the already quiet Garden Street even more desolate.
William was lying on the living room sofa with his head resting on Jessie's lap, chatting with her while watching TV. Suddenly, Sunday reported, "Sir, there's an unexpected situation."
As Sunday spoke, the television screen switched to a live feed of a moving medium-sized van. Abigail and Jessie both looked at the screen in surprise.
The feed changed again, revealing six individuals inside the van, fully armed and dressed in combat suits.
After just a glance, William's expression turned serious, and he smirked. "Heh, these guys have gotten smarter. They know that to deal with a wealthy tech-savvy person like me, they need to prepare against silver and ultraviolet light."
"Alright, you two go get Mom and take her to the underground safe room."
"Got it," Abigail immediately stood up, pulling the still-dazed Jessie upstairs to find Lena.
Once they were gone, William opened a portal and returned to the Mark armor dressing room at Oxford Castle. Standing on a platform painted with a stag's head, he said, "Let's begin."
As soon as he spoke, the platform retracted around him, and four mechanical arms equipped with components emerged from the floor. They began assembling the Mark III combat armor onto him.
A few moments later, amidst the sound of machinery, the helmet clicked into place, and the arc reactor on his chest and the eyes of the helmet glowed with a faint blue light.
Stepping back through the portal to the manor, William heard Sunday report that his mother and the two women had entered the underground safe room.
He retracted his helmet, walked to the liquor cabinet, poured himself a glass of whiskey, and reclined on the sofa. Gazing at the holographic projection descending from the ceiling, he observed dozens of figures approaching the manor in succession. Meanwhile, the six vampires in combat suits remained inside the van.
"Ha, these vampires really underestimate me," William muttered. "Attacking my base with so few people. Sunday, am I being too cautious? Once this is over, Mom is definitely going to give me a hard time."
"Well," Sunday hesitated for a second before offering some comfort, "better safe than sorry, sir."
"Alright, let's have some fun. Send Antonov and his team to deal with these small fries."
"Understood, sir."
Two minutes later, the dozens of vampires who had jumped into the manor grounds saw four figures in blue-glowing armor charging out of a side building.
Leading the charge was Ivan, a man built like a bear. Already over two meters tall and with arms thicker than William's thighs, Ivan looked even more massive in combat armor.
Taking full advantage of the rare opportunity to wear the armor, Ivan roared as he charged straight into a group of ten or so vampires. He grabbed two who were shooting at him, crashing into the marble fountain with a loud "bang."
"F**k!" William cursed as he saw the shattered marble fountain. "Damn it, I should've known better than to let these violence-obsessed polar bears out."
Despite his irritation, William knew how to prioritize. He merely cursed once before ignoring Ivan, who was now smashing the heads of the two vampires against the marble.
Meanwhile, Yakov and Valentin, who were of more normal builds, each wielded two rapid-fire pistols. They opened fire on the vampires in front of them.
"Ratatatatata!"
The ultraviolet-coated bullets cut through the rain-soaked night, striking seven or eight vampires.
The moment they were hit, a purple glow emerged from their bodies. Vampires struck in the torso died instantly, while those hit in the limbs quickly lost combat capability and collapsed.
Standing at the rear, Antonov stopped about 30 meters away, and the twin Gatling guns on his back automatically deployed.
Two red laser beams swept across the vampires, feeding data back to Sunday's processing center.
Seeing Antonov's twin Gatling guns, the vampires were instantly filled with dread, a chill running up their spines.
"Scatter! Gatling guns! Scatter!"
The whir of the motors filled the air, followed by a torrential "ratatatata" of gunfire.
"Blood God above!"
The thought barely crossed the minds of the vampires before the ultraviolet-infused bullets, glowing purple, rained down upon them. The twin beams of purple light from Antonov's guns split apart, sweeping to either side before beginning to oscillate back and forth.
In just ten seconds, the massive ammo box on Antonov's back was emptied.
Apart from a few extraordinarily lucky vampires who were only hit in the arms or legs, the rest were reduced to ashes in the barrage.
"Fk! Fk you, Antonov!" Ivan stood up, visibly annoyed, and flipped off Antonov. "Next time you steal my twin-shoulder Gatling guns, I'll play Russian roulette with you. Damn it, I only managed to kill two!"
Antonov merely shrugged, further irritating Ivan. Fuming, Ivan stomped over to a few vampires lying on the ground, groaning in pain. Grabbing one, he slammed it to the ground and stomped on its head, crushing it. Repeating this "watermelon smashing" action several times, Ivan still didn't feel any better.
