Chapter 10 - Death of Chu Feng

Qing Li looked at Chu Feng with eyes devoid of mercy. He knew exactly what these so-called Sons of Destiny were like. They killed whoever they pleased and stole other people's treasures and belongings, yet they would become furious over the slightest insult directed at them. They would never be satisfied with simply killing you—they would wipe out your entire family and destroy everything for no reason at all.

"I'm not a good person... but I'm not a hypocrite."

Then he raised his sword and cut through Chu Feng's neck.

Chu Feng's head fell to the ground.

Qing Li began wondering why people like them were always given so many opportunities, but before he could continue thinking, the System's voice interrupted his thoughts.

Ding!

(System):

You have killed the Son of Destiny named Chu Feng.

Reward: Ma Liang's Inscription Brush (Saint Grade) – Increases the success rate of inscriptions and can also be used in battle.

....

Qing Li: "You useless System, are you trying to fool me? I killed a Son of Destiny, and you're giving me a brush? Do I look like a painter to you?"

(System): "Host, I did not deceive you. He was only an ordinary Son of Destiny. And don't call me useless. I am the greatest System."

Qing Li: (ರ_ರ)

(System):

"Ma Liang's Inscription Brush and the Dragon Sword (Emperor Grade) have been stored in the System Inventory."

It seems the System even collected his sword.

Qing Li looked at Chu Feng's corpse, which had already turned cold.

He summoned Demonic Flame and burned the body to ashes.

After changing into a fresh set of clothes, he began making his way back to the Seven Peaks Sect.

On the way, Qing Li called out to the System

Qing Li closed the System screen

He continued toward the Seven Peaks Sect.

On his way back, he saw the ruins and destruction left behind by the battle between Chu Feng and the Imperial Ancestor. The devastation was enormous

.

He continued his journey, and an hour later he arrived at the sect.

As soon as he returned to his residence, the chubby servant disciple came to inform him about what had happened while he was away.

"Young Master Qing, a delegation from the Imperial Chu Family will be arriving."

Qing Li asked, "Why are they coming?"

The servant disciple replied, "I don't know the reason for their visit."

Qing Li tossed him a few spirit stones.

"You may leave."

The servant accepted the spirit stones and left.

Qing Li began thinking to himself.

I don't think they're coming just for a visit.

A thought suddenly crossed his mind.

Don't tell me they're here because of Chu Feng. What a cliché. The hero saved the heroine, so now she'll come to take revenge on me for hurting her savior

.....

After that, Qing Li went to the sect's library to borrow some books on inscription arts.

When he arrived, he found an old man with a long white beard sitting at the entrance.

"Young man, what brings you here?" the old man asked.

"I came to borrow some books to study inscription arts."

The old man opened the door for him, and Qing Li entered.

He carefully searched every book on the first floor but found nothing related to inscriptions.

He went up to the second floor but still found nothing suitable.

Then he climbed to the third floor and continued searching.

There, he found two books.

The first was a Spirit Grade inscription manual written by one of the sect's ancestors.

The second was an Earth Grade inscription manual that had been taken from a demonic sect after it had been destroyed.

After memorizing both books, Qing Li searched for more but found nothing else.

He walked toward the entrance to the fourth floor, only to discover a barrier blocking the way.

So he returned to the first floor.

The old librarian looked at him.

"Finished already?"

"Yes."

Qing Li nodded before leaving the library.

He then headed toward the sect's Treasure Pavilion.

A few minutes later, he arrived.

Inside, he saw a woman who appeared to be in her thirties. She had a seductive figure, elegant embroidered robes, a beautiful face with a dignified aura, and a beauty mark beneath her lower lip.

She was the elder in charge of the sect's treasures.

She looked at Qing Li and asked,

"What do you need, young man?"

"Elder, I need inscription paper to practice inscription arts."

She nodded.

"I have many kinds. Some are made from the hides of powerful beasts, while others are made from weaker ones."

"Since you're a beginner, quantity is more important than quality."

"I'll sell you fifty sheets made from the hides of weak beasts for five hundred low-grade spirit stones. They're perfect for practicing inscriptions."

Qing Li handed over the spirit stones and received the beast-hide sheets.

He then returned to his residence.

After arriving, he closed the door and sat on his bed, practicing inscription arts.

He failed over and over again.

He couldn't use Ma Liang's Inscription Brush, because the moment he took it out, it would release an overwhelming aura, and everyone would immediately realize that he possessed a Saint Grade treasure.

Besides, it required an enormous amount of spiritual energy to use.

After two hours, Qing Li finally succeeded in creating a First-Level Spirit Inscription that enhanced speed.

At that moment, the System screen appeared before him.
