The Ice Heart Technique wasn't just effective at suppressing the madness-inducing Crazy Blood of Nie Feng's lineage. Even later, when Bu Jingyun consumed Dragon Essence and showed signs of beastification, the Ice Heart Technique proved invaluable. Its ability to calm and focus the mind was unmatched, making it a powerful tool for controlling inner turmoil.
Nie Feng's later Heart of Demons Trial was only successful because he used the Ice Heart Technique to master his demonic heart, turning his Crazy Blood from a curse into an asset.
When in his Crazy Blood state, Nie Feng was terrifyingly strong. For example, when battling the fake Dugu Yifang, the death of Mingyue pushed him into a berserk state. Although he was no match for Dugu Yifang before, in that moment of rage, he ended the fight with a single slash.
"Wind Whirl Devours the Pavilion."
Standing in the middle of a still, tranquil lake, Daniel Davis began to spin rapidly. The water beneath him churned violently, forming a massive vortex. Soon, a ten-meter-high waterspout rose from the lake, drawing in the lake's water until the lakebed was completely exposed.
When Daniel stopped spinning, the waterspout collapsed back into the lake, sending rain pouring from the sky. However, the rainwater mysteriously avoided Daniel, as though an invisible barrier surrounded him, deflecting the droplets to either side.
"Now I only need the Heaven Frost Fist and Three Dividing Essence Technique to complete my collection," Daniel thought. His figure blurred as he vanished into the distance, propelled by the unparalleled speed of the Wind God's Kick.
In the deep mountains, nestled in a secluded valley, Bu Jingyun and Nie Feng were diligently training in the Black Tortoise Divine Skill.
After obtaining the Ice Heart Technique and Wind God's Kick from Nie Feng, Daniel had reciprocated by teaching Nie Feng the Ao Han Six Techniques. But he didn't stop there. He also passed on the Black Tortoise Divine Skill and Ten Strong Martial Arts to both Nie Feng and Bu Jingyun.
At first, Bu Jingyun had no intention of wasting time training. Consumed by his desire for vengeance, he wanted to take the Peerless Sword and confront Xiongba immediately. However, Daniel had convinced him otherwise—by defeating both Wind and Cloud in a sparring match.
The sparring was brief and decisive. Despite their combined strength, Wind and Cloud were no match for Daniel. The gap in power was far too great. Even if they had mastered Moksha Infinite, they wouldn't have stood a chance.
Moksha Infinite, though formidable, was still limited by the user's base strength. Previously, when Wind and Cloud combined their strength to unleash Moksha Infinite, they couldn't defeat Xiongba outright.
But now, things were different. With the Black Tortoise Divine Skill,True Man Pills, and Blood Bodhi Fruits, both Nie Feng and Bu Jingyun had grown substantially stronger. Given more time to consolidate their newfound power, either of them could take down Xiongba alone.
Unfortunately, patience wasn't their strong suit. Bu Jingyun was eager to avenge himself against Xiongba, while Nie Feng was desperate to rescue the imprisoned Qin Shuang.
Finally, the day came when Wind and Cloud decided to march toward Tian Xia Hui to settle their grievances once and for all. Daniel didn't try to stop them. At this point, their combined strength was more than enough to defeat Xiongba.
"Come out. They're gone now; no one will find you," Daniel suddenly said, his gaze shifting toward a hidden corner of the valley.
"Second Dream, if you like Nie Feng so much, why are you hiding from him?"
After a moment of hesitation, a woman in a flowing white dress stepped out from the shadows. Her slender figure and veiled face couldn't hide her striking presence—it was none other than Second Dream.
Daniel had noticed her through his Observation Haki. It turned out she had been secretly monitoring Nie Feng, likely out of concern for his safety.
Nie Feng, for all his perceptiveness, was completely oblivious to her presence. That, or he hadn't stopped to question how his pen pal—who communicated via carrier pigeon—always managed to find him so easily in the mountains, where there were no phones or transceivers.
"Who are you? And how do you know it's me?" Second Dream asked warily.
"I have my ways," Daniel replied with a slight smile. "You don't need to worry; I mean no harm. In fact, I can help you resolve the things you're worried about—whether it's your appearance or your father."
"You… have a way?" Second Dream hesitated, her hand unconsciously touching her face. The birthmark on her cheek was the main reason she avoided meeting Nie Feng in person. She feared that he might find it unsightly and reject her.
It was a moment of irrational insecurity from an otherwise intelligent woman. Second Dream had shown great wit in deducing that Xu Fu was Empyrean Deva, yet her self-esteem faltered when it came to her feelings for Nie Feng. Perhaps it was because women, in their hearts, often wished to present their best selves to the ones they loved.
"Yes, I can help. If you trust me, I can fix it for you right now," Daniel offered. Removing a small birthmark was a trivial matter for someone of his abilities.
After a brief pause, Second Dream removed her veil, revealing the mark on her cheek.
"This tiny thing caused you so much worry? Good thing you're not in the Marvel Universe. You'd have a meltdown seeing all those tattooed heroes," Daniel thought with a chuckle. He gently raised his finger and touched the birthmark.
Second Dream tensed slightly at his approach but ultimately let him proceed, trusting him based on what she'd observed during her surveillance of Nie Feng.
"It's done."
Seconds later, Daniel stepped back, conjuring an ice mirror with a flick of his finger. Second Dream gasped as she saw her reflection—the birthmark was gone.
Her hand trembled as she touched her now-clear cheek. Overwhelmed with emotion, she murmured a heartfelt, "Thank you."
"There's no need for gratitude. I did this for Nie Feng, and for you. As for your father, you don't need to worry too much. As long as he can't defeat Nie Feng, he won't have any reason to oppose your relationship."
Second Dream's father, the Second Blade Emperor, had always been a thorny issue. Daniel couldn't help but feel exasperated. "If he's so powerful, why doesn't he go challenge Absolute No-God instead?"
"However, if you truly want to stay by Nie Feng's side, heed this advice: don't let your martial skills go to waste. I've studied physiognomy, and I can tell you this—Wind and Cloud's lives will be full of turbulence. Even if they wish to leave the martial world, it won't be easy. In this world, 'a person in Jianghu cannot escape its conflicts.'"
Daniel could take care of Xiongba, Absolute No-God, and even some of the hidden threats from the East Island. He could deal with Empyrean Deva and the Celestial Gate. But he couldn't change the fate of Wind and Cloud or fight every battle for them.
Even if he eradicated every major threat, Wind and Cloud would still face countless challenges. The martial world wasn't a place of peace, and danger lurked in every shadow.
"I've said my piece. The rest is up to you." With that, Daniel nodded at Second Dream and disappeared into the distance, leaving her to reflect on his words.
Tian Xia Hui, located at the base of Tian Mountain, was Daniel's next destination. He arrived well before Wind and Cloud, his superior speed making the journey a breeze.
The once-mighty Tian Xia Hui was now a shadow of its former self. Though still a formidable force, its inner turmoil had left it weakened. The betrayals of the three hall masters, combined with Wen Chouchou's defection, had thrown the organization into chaos.
The remaining disciples were plagued by anxiety. Gone were the days of pride and unity. Now, they operated under a shroud of fear, dreading Xiongba's unpredictable wrath.
Without Wen Chouchou's administrative expertise, Xiongba was forced to handle many of the sect's affairs personally, further delaying his recovery from his injuries.
In Tian Xia Hui's central tower, Xiongba sat in his study, poring over reports. His face darkened with rage.
"Useless! All of you are useless!" He slammed his palm onto his desk, shattering it into splinters.
Before he could vent further, his body froze. The colors of the room dimmed, replaced by an eerie gray. The technique Heaven and Earth Dimmed had been activated.
"Who?!"
Panic filled Xiongba's eyes as he realized he was immobilized. No matter how much inner energy he channeled, he couldn't break free from the technique's grip.
Without a word, Daniel's shadowy figure stepped through the dimmed space, appearing beside Xiongba. Placing a hand on Xiongba's head, Daniel began extracting his martial techniques.
"It's done."
Having obtained the Heaven Frost Fist and Three Dividing Essence Technique, Daniel released Xiongba and
vanished into the shadows.
When Xiongba's disciples rushed into the study moments later, they found their leader trembling in fear. Though his injuries had prevented him from fully recovering, nothing had ever shaken Xiongba like this.
Elsewhere, Daniel reflected on his next steps. "Wind and Cloud can handle the rest. I'll deal with Absolute No-God when the time comes."
