Chapter 4 - Confrontation

Once again I woke up at an unfamiliar place. Covered in bruises from head to toe, my body ached so much that I had felt pain for the first time ever. Upon realizing the situation I found myself in, there I was with this question constantly repeating in my head. Why?

Being confronted with much more dangerous monsters and creatures, I was always able to overcome any dire situation. And yet, why was I hesitant to finish off my foes. Try as I might, I could not understand the reason to my actions. This was an unfamiliar feeling I had yet to experience up until now.

However, the circumstance I was faced with allowed me not the chance to be guessing. It was a must that I freed myself from my restraints and made an escape.

I was confined in a seemingly dark room with two people guarding the door. The room was filled with tools and equipments that depict a torture chamber. The two guards unaware of my consciousness, made it easy to free myself from the binds. It was apparent that escape was not going to be easy, however, that would have been the case if I had not awaken my abilities.

This time, I had cleared my mind of all doubts and was determined to fight. Luring the two guards to open the steel door was my first objective, the second was to cause a commotion within the enemy's territory. The goal behind this diversion was to find "Camish and Santos". After all where we find ourselves now, was from my encounter with them. Therefore settling the score with them was the only way I knew to end this freud.

[**Objectives]

Inside the room I was kept confined was a small window with steels bars. Using the skill "piercing blood", I was able to slice through them making it seem as though I had escaped.

With the camouflage skill I learned from killing creatures in the wasteland, I managed to hide myself within the confinement of the room. I then made some noises to alert the guards while deeming my presence so as to not be detected.

In a panic, they rushed to check inside to see if I had truly escaped. One of the two made his way to inform their boss {referring to Camish and Santos}, before the other could leave the room was when I revealed myself to him.

Hesitation was out of the frey now as I ended his life right after revealing myself. Although before dieing, he let out a loud scream to alert his allies of danger.

That was when I realized. Earlier on before his comrade had left his side, if only briefly I was able to understand just a bit of what they said. So it was possible after all, I was getting to understand the human language now [I thought].

{Thought Conclusion}

Still this development was unexpected and uncalled for. The conclusion I drew from this occurrence, I related to how I was able to understand the gestures of the creature's in the wastelands. After absorbing the skills of the humans I'd killed, it seemed I was this close to being able to communicate their language.

Prior to the guard leaving to inform their superior, did I attach one of my scouting clones to him. Being able to share my consciousness with the clones, I now knew the location to Camish and Santos.

I made quick work of every human I encountered whilst making my way to them. Due to the number of skills absorbed during my killing spree before making it to Camish, I could understand completely the human tongue.

[Camish]

I see you made quick work of my men to get here..

[******]

[Camish]

Still reluctant to speak to me are you? Doesn't matter though...

Even if you kill me and escape from here, know that you'll have a target on your back.

[******]

Creeping behind me was Santos, who had masked his presence and was trying to kill me thinking I let down my guard. However, I was already aware of him the moment I entered that room. After all his blood lust was oozing across the entire room, it was hard to miss. Right before he could reach me, was when I grabbed him by the neck and ripped his head off.

Looking at me with fear was Camish, seeing as I had killed his friend before him. Driven with fear and anger had he rushed at me, though his movements were slow and sloppy as I was easily able to counter them. We locked eyes with each other and in desperation he said....

[Camish]

You shall never find peace you "Omen"

{It was time to end our encounter}

I felt no emotion nor pity towards him, however at that moment, all I could think to say to him was....

"Sorry".
