Chapter 4715: A Piece of Root
Ultimate Undying activated, Lin Moyu's aura surged and he instantly entered a state of undying and indestructible existence.
Before the stunned Chaos Heaven Dragon, he drove his fist straight into the dragon's gaping maw.
For this punch, Lin Moyu drew on everything: nearly all the power of his Undying Spirit Arms, the might of Linguistic God World, and even the Force of Death.
It was the strongest blow he could currently unleash, beyond what his body could normally bear and only possible in the undying state.
At the same moment, the dragon's jaws clamped down, biting onto his fist.
A soul shattering impact echoed through the void, yet Lin Moyu's fist did not move in the slightest.
The Chaos Heaven Dragon could not believe he could not bite through Lin Moyu.
Despite using full strength, cracks even appeared on his own teeth.
This was only a clone, but such a thing should not have been possible.
Then Lin Moyu's fist power erupted.
The space before his knuckles shattered into fragments, tearing open a colossal rift that stretched who knew how far.
That punch had already surpassed Supreme level and touched another realm entirely.
The dragon avatar was pierced through, its massive body ripped apart by the violent force and exploding to dust.
Lin Moyu casually shook his fist. "So much for 'number one.' That's all."
He knew there was no such thing as an absolute defense only insufficient force.
Given enough power, any shield could be broken.
For instance, in the Life Forbidden Zone, no known being could withstand its annihilating power.
The dragon's true body could have taken this blow; this clone could not.
Lin Moyu also knew the real dragon would not appear, just as Dao would not use full power against him.
Now, no one remained who could block his path to Supreme.
As for the other one…
He glanced off into the distance and then looked away.
He knew Calamity Supreme had arrived but stayed hidden.
Calamity Supreme had no intention of stopping him; Lin's ascension had always been part of that one's plan.
He had come mainly to observe how strong Lin Moyu had become.
"He is probably feeling very conflicted right now."
"Go on agonizing. That's the sort of person you are."
Lin Moyu's heart curled in contempt.
Calamity Supreme's nature was like that: seemingly decisive, yet inwardly full of hesitation.
He liked to calculate every move before acting, which made his adaptability weak.
There were things that could not be planned out.
No one was perfect not even the mightiest.
Ignoring him completely, Lin Moyu walked the final steps and sat upon his Supreme seat.
The illusory throne vanished, turning into world power that wrapped around him.
He felt the world's recognition.
The enemy of all worlds had now become a world recognized Supreme.
What had seemed like a joke had come true, and Lin Moyu smiled, sensing that very interesting developments were ahead.
When a new Supreme is born, the world sends its blessings and officially announces to all beings at or above the Chaos Realm that another Supreme has appeared.
Radiant glow encircled him as countless golden flowers materialized in the sky, the world's congratulatory omen.
Amid those blessings, the blinding red light marking him as enemy slowly faded away.
Yet only a few breaths later, the glow vanished and the flowers broke apart.
The fresh recognition from the world rapidly weakened.
Red light burst from him again; he was once more the enemy of all worlds.
A few breaths more, and the blessings returned.
The rules had fallen into chaos, sometimes treating Lin Moyu as an enemy, sometimes as their own Supreme.
The two states clashed and contradicted each other.
From within that turmoil, Lin Moyu carefully felt the rule changes and compared them with fluctuations in the Great Calamity.
The Calamity, too, danced with the rules' instability, rising and falling like waves.
Within his sight, something hidden at the Calamity's core finally surfaced.
A severed root.
Lin Moyu saw it clearly: a cut off tree root.
The instant he did, a name sprang to mind: Primordial Spirit Tree Root.
He had once obtained a Primordial Spirit Tree leaf in Azure Dragon World and used it to help Little Tree break and remake itself, advancing from Chaos Ancestral Tree into Primordial Spirit Tree.
Now a Primordial Spirit Tree root had appeared; if he could secure it, Little Tree would benefit enormously.
If he himself wished to become the strongest of Chaos Wasteland, refining that root could also serve as the key.
A few breaths later, the object sank back into hiding.
Its time to emerge had not yet come.
It remained buried within the Calamity, and unless it showed itself, even an ultimate powerhouse could hardly drag it out of the rules.
Yet once an ultimate being truly appeared, there would be no more Great Calamities.
So the idea of taking it in that way was a paradox, nearly impossible.
Lin Moyu glanced down at himself and could not help but smile.
He flipped between enemy and Supreme, back and forth, unable to tell when things would finally stabilize.
This breakthrough to Supreme had accomplished several goals.
Chaos Child and Little Peng had fully escaped Chaos Wasteland; their safety was no longer in doubt.
Lin Mohan, through the bloodline resonance, had also gained much and stabilized her realm.
When she finally acted, the result would likely shatter the heavens.
Meanwhile he had mocked Dao, shattered one of the Chaos Heaven Dragon's avatars, and more importantly tested their combat power.
They were not as terrifying as expected.
Their true bodies would naturally be stronger, but by then he would also be stronger.
"…Master, Master, just now I felt a strange aura."
Little Tree's voice sounded suddenly.
Lin Moyu knew it had sensed the same root he had just seen.
"Tell me what you felt," Lin Moyu said.
"Did Master see something?" Little Tree answered. "I suddenly sensed a very peculiar aura and felt a powerful craving for whatever Master was looking at.
"That thing would be incredibly beneficial for me. If I obtain it, I can become very strong."
"That was a severed root," Lin Moyu replied. "If I'm not mistaken, it's a broken Primordial Spirit Tree root, and yes, it would help you greatly."
Little Tree asked softly, "Then can Master get it?"
"Yes," Lin Moyu said. "But not yet. It'll take some time."
What interested him more was why a Primordial Spirit Tree root would be here at all.
A leaf was one thing, but a root implied the tree itself had been broken.
How could such a powerful being have been severed?
He had always judged the Primordial Spirit Tree to be beyond this world; if it could break, what had happened?
Was this tied to the world itself, the World Wall, and the Life Forbidden Zone?
No answer came for now.
When he eventually obtained the root, perhaps it would yield clues.
He shifted his awareness to the gestating forms of Chaos Child and Little Peng.
Their two light clusters were developing quickly.
Judging by the state of their soul flames, it would not be long before their consciousness returned.
Once they awoke, with endless Primordial Qi at hand in Linguistic God World, regaining their peaks or even surpassing them would be easy.
