Bai Suli couldn't take it anymore. "I just wanted to play a joke on her! Why did she hit me?"
Yunyi stepped forward a few paces. "Play a joke? You really dare say that. Do you think what you just said is something to joke about?"
Bai Suli was furious and retorted, "We're educated youths who came to the countryside together. Isn't it okay to joke around with each other?"
Yunyi's lips curled up as she casually remarked, "I saw you sneaking into the cornfield with a man from the village last night."
No one expected Yunyi to make such a comment. Bai Suli gnashed her teeth and growled, "Chuyunyi, I didn't even leave the Zhiqing Point last night! Don't slander me!"
Yunyi laughed. Her laugh was so dazzling it nearly blinded the onlookers; she was simply too beautiful. But she quickly suppressed her smile and said with a nonchalant cynicism, "Why the rush? I'm just joking with you."
Bai Suli angrily protested, "Can you joke about anything you please?"
