Chapter 152 - The Phantom Pain

Chapter One Hundred Fifty-Two:

I continue screaming in pain while I keep my hand scratching my wrist even though Dealla was trying to stop me.

"Stop what you are doing!" Dealla said.

"But I can't!" I replied as I keep scratching it.

"Shuki, you have to stop because your wrist is already sore."

Dealla was right, my wrist already sore and it begins to bleed. "Oh, shit!" I hold on to Dealla. "What is happening to me?!" I asked as my tears falls down and I cannot take it any longer, the pain that I feel is too strong as if it burns me deeply.

"It is a phantom pain." Suddenly someone speaks up and when we look at who it was, we saw Sai.

"Sai?"

"I called her." Haimon answered and quickly approached me.

"What? A phantom pain? But how did that happen?" I curiously asked her.

"Something happened to you though not totally in your physical state. It only means, your spirit was the one who got hurt and now your physical body experiencing the same thing happened to your spirit body." She explained that I quickly understand when I remember my dream or I call it…

"My nightmare!" I said it out loud.

"Love, what it is that you've dream of?"

"I don't know exactly what is it but, I remember that I was sleeping to our room when you came and lay down beside me, as I thought it was you, I cuddle into you after you spoke up to me. Then, suddenly I just felt that there is something wrong. The heat I feel every time I'm next to you I didn't feel and all I felt was cold and I didn't know who the person was when I pushed him. Also, after pushing him I was in this unfamiliar place and then I remember talking to him before…" I couldn't continue anymore and I just stare right at my wrist because I already remember what he did to me.

"Tell us what he did to you." Sai said that cuts off my thought and I look up to her. "What? You can't say it?"

"Sai," Haimon warned her.

"I'm doing this to help her, Haimon." She replied.

"But--"

"It's alright." I said and hold his hand while looking at him. "I think I should really tell you what he did to me."

Haimon sighed. "Alright, tell us."

"He… bites me."

Silence.

It took long before someone answered. "If what you are saying is true, the feeling as if you are already burning because of the pain that suddenly emerging and the feeling of being pierced by a sharp object into your skin which also gives severe pain is what you feel right now… then, you're telling the truth." Sai replied.

"Yes. That is exactly what I'm feeling."

Reinhardt's Mansion

"How long will you sleep, Kanik?" Medea asked as soon as she entered my room and force me to wake up.

"I don't know." I lazily answered and went back to bed.

"Oh, come on! Kanik! You need to wake up!"

"What for?"

"We still don't have the 'Maiden's Grail' so we have to find a way to get it in our hands!"

"Medea, maybe you forgot that we already know where the 'Maiden's Grail' is?"

"Of course not!"

"Then, calm down." I answered. "Because I am sure that we will have what we have been looking for." I answer boldly.

"Really? Then, why is Shu Tokino back to Haimon's home again and I also found out that she has already canceled her divorce from her husband?"

"What!" I quickly stand up out of my bed as soon as I heard it.

"You don't have any idea of it, right?"

"Damn it!" I said as I quickly went to my walk-in closet and quickly change. "Where is Mau?" I asked after I got dress up properly.

"He's in the living room."

Del Gazini's House

I still feel severe pain even though I have not sustained any injuries on my physical body. It just keeps on hurting no matter what spell or magic Sai does, it still can't alleviate the pain I'm feeling.

"Is there any other way to stop Shu's suffering?" Haimon seriously asked Sai.

"There is," she answered.

"Then, tell us." We both answered in unison.

"I don't think you'll like it."

"What do you mean?" I asked between my deep breaths.

"To stop your suffering, you have––"

"Stop it!" suddenly Dealla interrupted her that Haimon and I surprised by her sudden words.

"Deal…" I said as I look at her with question.

"Dealla, do you have any idea what Sai will say?" Haimon asked in a serious tone.

"… Yes." It took long before Dealla answered.

"Then, what is it?" I asked. "Because if that is the only way that can help me to end this suffering of mine then, I am ready in any way you will say." I answered boldly.

"Then," it was Sai. "Haimon need to enter your dream and do the same way the mysterious guy did to you."

I was surprised from what Sai suggested but on the other hand, I am glad to know that there is something that could help me to finally free from this burden. So, I am finally decided.

"Do it." I seriously answered.

"What! No!" Haimon immediately disagreed. "I will not agree with what you said, Sai!"

"That is the only way." Sai answered.

"The only way?! Her life might be more dangerous if I did what you wanted to happen!"

"Don't worry because I won't be the only one to perform the ritual so you can safely enter Shu Tokino's dream, because Netro will help me."

"Haimon," I speak and hold his hand. "We need to trust her and do--"

"No." he cuts me off. "You don't know how dangerous they will do just to end this phantom pain you are experiencing right now. And I cannot take that risk so please forgive me if I will not agree." He seriously answered.
