Third-person POV
Eraño still observed what Shu, Gen, Ichiro, and Hayate were doing in this underground laboratory. The next ritual was where, while Shu was still blindfolded, Ichiro swooped in like a predatory ninja, and the predator-like ninja then swooped in and stabbed Shu in the back. Blood sprayed on the floor.
"Gotcha, Shu-kun…" Ichiro growled an imitated demonic voice in Shu's ear with his voice changer.
Shu fell on his knees and puked out more blood as his On the Brink of Death serum sealed the wounds fast.
Ichiro pulled out his katana and, much to Eraño's horror, wielded his handy SVD sniper rifle and looked at Shu through its scope.
He then pulled the trigger.
Bang!
One round was fired, and Shu collapsed on the floor with his hands stabilising himself from collapsing on the floor completely.
2 more zombie virus-laced sniper bullets were fired and then went through Shu's abdomen.
The zombie virus in the lead was released into Shu's bloodstream and simulated the fever and pain and never the turning.
"Man, that other Shu was right…" Eraño's mind muttered, "...Shu was so fractured he needed violence inflicted on him to be reassembled and whole again."
Back in the hellish, torturous, Peace Treatment, Shu got up as his special serum healed his wounds fast. The final part before the zombie virus part was when Hayate shot Shu with his zombie virus-laced-bullets-loaded M249 light machine gun.
Rat-tat-tat! Rat-tat-tat!
Shu was shot several times, and many bullets strayed and struck the reinforced walls around him. More blood was sprayed everywhere. The same modified virus in the bullets in Shu's bloodstream did the same thing as the sniper ones. Eraño took notes of Shu's "treatment" in chronological order and how Shu felt in each of them.
Still unaware of Eraño's presence, Shu felt peace as his mind was calming down and his fantasies of being punished were being satisfied. "Gracias…" Shu's mind said, "...I was being cleansed…"
And then, the final part of the treatment with Shu's written request of being injected by the modified zombie virus to quiet down his mind. But then, before Gen would administer the special sedative on Shu, Eraño stood up and came down from the barely elevated observation deck. "So this happens every night, doesn't it?"
Everyone froze at his voice and looked at him.
Even Gen put down the glass syringe.
"T-Trinidad-san…?" Shu stammered while wiping his own blood from his cheeks.
"Yes, it's me, Taro-san," replied Eraño. "Before you would stammered and try to explain this, I understand why you subject yourself to this kind of…uh…special treatment…"
"Y-You do?" Ichiro whispered as he checked the magazine of his SVD sniper rifle.
"You won't tell this to anyone, not even to the government?" Gen asked.
Eraño then nodded. "Yes, and frankly, I had seen the other Shu with a shot wound on his temple and a broken pistol on his hand."
Shu and Gen were shocked.
"You saw it?" Gen whispered.
"The pistol is now breaking apart?" Shu added.
Eraño nodded for the second time. "Yes, and he laid down why you undertook this kind of treatment. So, I understand you. Just continue this, and I will be up in the observation deck watching it."
As Eraño walked up the small, short steps, the ritual resumed.
Shu gave the green light, and with a few rhythmic taps on the glass of the syringe for Shu's sensory relief, Gen injected the modified zombie virus serum on Shu's left shoulder with a menacing movement of a madman. As Gen pulls out the needle, Shu's body convulses on the floor and starts to bleed some dark red blood from his mouth. Eraño kept on recording the spectacle on his notepad.
And then, by 8:11 p.m., Shu was now asleep, and his mind was no longer at strife and storms but at peace. After that, Gen recorded Shu's mental state during and after the treatment, seeing how Shu was calm as the lake.
After that, Gen, Ichiro, and Hayate cleaned up their mess once they had cleaned up the bloody mess and pulled out the bullet shell from Shu's body. Ichiro and Hayate carried his body to his room above the basement floor. Eraño then returned to the surface and to the guest quarters on the second floor on the south side of the YKY headquarters for the night. He tucked his notepad and pen in a drawer and rested up for the night.
