Chapter 62 - Punishment 2

"Oh no milord. I'm innocent, I have no idea what is going on. I'm only like this because this is a hard time for us in the palace and I am also trying to solve a problem of my own milord. What will I gain if I poison your guest milord? Absolutely nothing!" She finally gained the courage to reply.

"A problem of your own you say? You mean your mother's missing necklace?" Sebastian raised a deteriorated silver necklace to her view and she turned as pale as a ghost.

A gentle voice in her head spoke to her "Just confess now".

Another voice raged in her head "Lie! You'd die if you say the truth, you know that!".

"Ohh milord. I didn't know it got to your hands" She succumbed to the raging voice. How in the world did the king know about the necklace? And how did he find a necklace that is exactly the same as the description she gave her colleagues earlier that morning?.

"It was found with this".

Benjamin revealed the paper containing the grey substance.

Helena felt her insides slowly want to become her outsides; she felt a puke coming.

"Do you know what this is?" Sebastian asked and she shook her head in denial vigorously.

"Seems you've lost the ability to comprehend simple things" the king glared at her.

"Now this was found alongside your mother's necklace. Among your belongings. This is poison Helena, it becomes even more intriguing because it was found among your belongings the same day my guest was poisoned. The symptoms of taking this was the same symptoms my guest exhibited. Don't you know that puts you as the number one suspect? Or even the culprit?" Sebastian slowly dangled the necklace in his hand.

There was no actual necklace, it was a lie. How did the king find a necklace according to her description? And now the poison was found with her supposed "mother's" necklace? This was outrageous!. Helena felt a headache coming up.

"Milord, I don't know how that thing got amongst my belongings. I do not even know what that is. Please, I did not do anything milord!" She begged.

Sebastian's icy gaze didn't falter, instead it turned more stern.

"Lock her up" he said and immediately two guards walked up to her, pulling her along with them. Her screams and pleading was still heard even though she had left their presence.

The other servants were shocked seeing what had transpired.

Maria, who never liked Helena was delighted that the girl was caught. She inwardly reigned courses on the girl.

"Let this be a warning to the rest of you. If you try something as stupid as this, be ready to face the consequences. You're all dismissed!" Sebastian said and the servants scrambled out of his presence.

After their departure, Benjamin turned to the king "Father Roberts and Marcellus have arrived".

"Alright, they can come in" Sebastian said and few minutes later, both men walked in greeting the king.

"Marcellus, Benjamin will lead you to who I want you to see" the king said making the young physician nod in agreement before walking away with Benjamin, leaving the king and Father Roberts alone.

"I was told you have things to tell me" Sebastian said.

"Yes milord, God showed me in a dream last night...that young maiden. The girl who had those dreams about you." Father Roberts waited to see if the king realized who he was referring to.

"Okay, what happened to her?" The king asked curiously.

"It seems she saved you from an attack milord. In the dream God showed me, you were poisoned and slowly it made you sick. It turns out the dreams she has been having was about you getting poisoned. But miraculously, her being here made you catch the culprit right?" The man asked.

Sebastian wanted to ask how the bishop knew that Mirabelle was in the palace but he concluded that God must have told the man that too.

"Yes" the king answered.

"That's how she saved you. The culprit has been poisoning you" Father Roberts concluded.

"I see" Sebastian said as he remembered Archangel Raphael's words. The poison was actually meant for him. Though, the whole experience hurt Mirabelle, it made him find out who had been planning his demise.

"Thank you Father Roberts" Sebastian said.

"Also, she might actually be the one. The one whom the kingdom has been waiting for, for years now. What will you do if she really is?" Father Roberts asked inquisitively.

Sebastian stared at the man before giving him an answer.

In one of the many guest rooms, Mirabelle's eyes slowly fluttered open but to darkness. She sighed as she recalled all that happened, she remembered the pain she felt. How excruciating it all was. "Papa?" She called out in a parched voice.

Mister Nolan who had been talking with the physician in the corner of the room, turned his head to his daughter. Seeing she was awake, he rushed to her side.

Minutes ago, Benjamin and the physician knocked at the door, hearing it Mister Nolan went to open up and seeing them, greeted both men.

He turned to the physician and noticed the man seemed different from last night. He didn't have the aura or the spark and alluring beauty he seemed to have last night. He was a fine young man but he seemed different from the night before.

Unbeknownst to Nolan that the "physician" he saw last night was in fact an Archangel who took the appearance of this physician Marcellus.

Marcellus was human but he had a vast knowledge on medics and the supernatural. He treated humans, the light creatures and night creatures who fell into situations where they couldn't heal themselves with their powers.

Not all night creatures and light creatures had the ability to heal or regenerate their bodies.

After examining Mirabelle, he found out something strange but assured the girl's father that she was completely fine now.
