Seo froze.
For the first time since Snow had met her, Seo didn't immediately respond.
The words hung between them, heavy and wrong.
Seo's fingers tightened slightly around the hilt of her sword as she stared at Snow, trying to read her expression, trying to find even a hint that this was some kind of joke.
There was none.
Snow's eyes were steady.
Calm.
Too calm.
Seo didn't like that.
"What are you saying?" Seo asked quietly. "Explain yourself."
Snow hesitated for a moment, then took a slow breath. "I'm serious, Seo. I need you to do it."
Seo's usual blank, emotionless face cracked just a little.
Her brows furrowed, irritation and something sharper flashing across her eyes.
"You think I would just agree to something like that?"
Seeing that reaction, Snow felt a strange sense of relief.
