Maddie sat alone outside, just beyond the tree line.
"Concentrate" she thought as she closed her eyes. She knew she could do it. She wasn't incapable of using magic like most who knew of her shifting ability thought.
But who was Maddie really? What was her past?
Madelyn Frey was Born 12 years ago, on the night of Samhain, to Maria Thomas and Lewis Frey.
The night of her birth her parents were cursed into a fox form permanently turning them into foxes. For the first 5 years of Maddie's life they thought she was unaffected by the curse but one day she turned into a fox and from then on nothing stayed the same.
The coven she grew up in shunned her for being different, not even teaching her basic magic.
"Damnit" Maddie whispered as she failed the spell once again.
"You know what would help?" A male voice suddenly asked behind her making her jump.
"Its you!" She said looking at Damien as he leaned against a tree. "Don't you want the answer to my question?" He asked standing up straight. "Not from you" she said quickly standing up.
"You have the eyes of a seer" he said looking her in the eyes. "What have you seen?" He asked. Maddie remained silent. "Whatever it is you think I am... Im not" she told him as he took a step closer. "I wish that were true, I really do" he said as she suddenly backed up against a tree.
"But you and I both know that you are the key to the answer I need" he said calmly. "Please..." She said. "If you take me you will become a monster" she told him. "Good" he replied. "If it means keeping the gods from hurting Seraiya anymore than they already have I'll do what ever it takes" he told her.
Maddie suddenly transformed into her fox form and took off running deeper into the woods. Damien transformed into his blonde wolf and chased after her hot on her tail, but quickly losing her.
Maddie hid under some leaves near a tree as Damien put his nose in the air to smell for her before transforming back into his human form.
"How much do you know about Seraiya?" Damian asked. "Not much, I presume" he yelled as he spun around. "If you knew anything about what they did to her you would be on my side to" be continued.
Maddie stayed curled up in the leaves. "When we were 12 our pack was attacked, and to protect me she hid me in the crawl space of a closet making sure to hide in front of me" he told her. "They found her within minutes and took her to Russia to be sold on the black market" he continued. "She only escaped because she lost control of her power and burned the place to the ground with everyone inside"
"And that's not even the first instance of her being taken" he said. "When she was born our aunt kidnapped her, when we were 5 she became sick because both her and her magic created an imbalance, the only reason she is still alive is because the goddess of the moon allows it" he said. "You see the goddess gave her a choice" he said. "She could die, right than and there and her pain would forever end... Or she could live and fight her whole life to become the tribrid"
"Her whole life she has sacrificed for everyone around her and lost those closest to her" he continued. "And yet because I choose to sacrifice the world for my own sister I'm the villain? Wouldn't you do the same if you were in my shoes?" He asked.
Maddie suddenly came out from behind the tree. "Did all of that really happen to her?" She asked a look of concern and pain filling her eyes. "I wish it didn't but it did" he said. "And that isnt even the end of it all" he told her.
"But if you come with me Maddie I can change that for her" he said kneeling down. "If you come with me and help me become the tribrid, the gods will no longer come after Seraiya, they won't need to" he said holding out his hand.
Maddie stood there for a moment, looking at his hand. "I can really help her?" Maddie asked. "If I go with you?"
Damien nodded. "I believe so, yes" he said looking into her eyes. "Your a seer, you could find out for yourself" he added. "I-i don't know how" she told him.
"Take my hand and close your eyes" he said. Maddie gulped before slowly reaching her hand out and closing her eyes.
Her eyes suddenly shot open but this time completely white. Images flashed through her mind of seraiya smiling and laughing, standing next to a familiar man with red hair.
She saw everything, Damien becoming the tribrid, Seraiya falling in love with Zack. The day of her wedding her children... But the world wasn't destroyed. It didn't erupt in chaos. It seemed peaceful. Like everything wrong in the world was gone. But Maddie wasnt there.
Maddie suddenly closed her eyes and fell to her knees. She opened her eyes again and this time they were back to normal. "That's really the future?" She asked. "If you saw it, it must be..." Damien told her. "Alright than..." Maddie said as she stood up. "I'll go with you" she added.
"What what the hell do you mean Maddie's gone?" Seraiya asked. "We can't find her anywhere weve checked the whole house and even the territory she is no where to be found" Michael said a look of worry covering his face.
"Where the hell could she have gone?" Seraiya asked unsure of what to do.
"The vision is fake" she suddenly heard a familiar voice in her head and began to look around. "Fuck" she said looking at daemon. Seraiya took in a deep breath. "Keep having the pack search find any trace you can even the smallest scent" she commanded.
"Yes alpha" he said before leaving the room. "Selene please lead me to her" Seraiya whispered. "I doubt the goddess will help you when she's the reason your in this situation" Daemon told her.
"If your not gonna help me find Maddie than get the hell out" Seraiya demanded. "Relax I didn't say I wouldn't help" he said throwing his hands up, "there's only two possibilities of where she could have gone" he said. "Where?" Seraiya asked. "The triad, or your brother" he said simply.
