Chapter 735: The Extraterrestrial Demons
The Boundary Stabilizing Isle.
Standing high above the ground, Xiao Ze gazed at the horizon. Even across the vast sea surrounding the isle, the outline of an immense continent loomed in the distance. This was the Chaotic Continent.
Black storms shrouded the continent, endless and fierce, tearing apart the land and fragmenting space into scattered shards. Within those shards, an eerie distortion seemed to ripple, transforming the landscape. A lush, verdant valley might suddenly shift into barren, craggy peaks, as if centuries of change had occurred in an instant.
Xiao Ze observed the spectacle, his brows furrowed. When they first arrived at the Boundary Stabilizing Isle, the storms had obscured the view of the continent entirely. But as the storms weakened, glimpses of the fragmented world within became visible.
These fragments, each torn apart by chaos, were the spaces they would soon be venturing into.
At the Great Thousand Pavilion, Xiao Ze and Qing Yanjing joined a growing crowd of Earth Sovereigns. Figures who would typically dominate their respective territories were now gathered en masse, their power muted in the presence of a much greater force.
Before the pavilion stood the elderly, white haired woman they had met earlier. She held an ancient tome in her hands, her attention focused on its pages.
She emanated no spiritual energy an unassuming presence. But everyone here, including the Earth Sovereigns, knew better. Only a Heavenly Sovereign could suppress their energy so completely.
The silent reverence was palpable. To avoid incurring unnecessary wrath, the crowd maintained utter silence.
Xiao Ze and Qing Yanjing, finding a quieter spot on the pavilion's square, chose to wait. As more figures arrived, they too fell silent, unwilling to disturb the atmosphere.
"It's rare to see so many Earth Sovereigns behaving so obediently," Xiao Ze thought to himself, impressed by the quiet discipline. Only a Heavenly Sovereign could command such respect.
Moments later, the elderly woman closed her tome, seemingly sensing the right time. She waved her hand, creating a massive spatial fissure dozens of feet wide on the side of the square.
Another wave of her hand summoned numerous glowing tokens, each radiating faint spatial energy. These tokens floated toward the gathered Earth Sovereigns.
"The Chaotic Continent is now accessible," the woman's raspy voice announced. "To enter, step through the spatial fissure. If you encounter danger, channel your spiritual energy into the token."
"These tokens are connected to the grand spiritual array surrounding this city. Activating them will pull you back from the Chaotic Continent."
Xiao Ze grasped the token, sensing its intricate spatial connections. The woman continued, her gaze sweeping the crowd.
"For those traveling together, allow your tokens to touch. This will negate the chaotic spatial energy during transit, reducing the risk of being separated."
"Thank you for the guidance, senior!" the Earth Sovereigns chorused, bowing respectfully.
One by one, they began entering the fissure.
Qing Yanjing turned to Xiao Ze, holding her token in her palm, her gaze inviting. "Let's go. The chaotic energy is incredibly strong. Without these Heavenly Sovereign crafted tokens, we'd likely be separated even if we entered hand in hand."
Xiao Ze nodded, placing his token in his palm and joining hands with Qing Yanjing. Together, they stepped into the spatial fissure.
Immediately, a powerful force tugged at their bodies, threatening to tear them apart.
Qing Yanjing's body glowed with spiritual energy, shielding herself from the chaos. Xiao Ze, relying on his formidable physical strength, resisted the force, his grip on Qing Yanjing steady.
Their tokens emitted a soft, radiant glow, forming a protective barrier that kept them together.
As the chaotic energy pressed on, Xiao Ze felt a rare sense of disorientation. This was no ordinary spatial turbulence it was as though the very fabric of space had lost its structure, with no sense of direction or stability.
Bang!
After what felt like an eternity, the chaotic energy receded, and their feet landed on solid ground.
Before them stretched a forest of golden leaves, the air heavy with an ancient, untamed energy. Qing Yanjing let out a breath of relief, patting her chest.
"We made it. That chaotic disarray was just a taste of the Chaotic Continent's storms," she said. "In those storms, even basic movement becomes a challenge, let alone combat."
Xiao Ze nodded in agreement. This place was truly extraordinary. The Chaotic Continent wasn't a solid landmass but a patchwork of fragmented spaces each surviving the storms through some miraculous force.
"These fragments are no ordinary places," Xiao Ze remarked, gazing at the golden forest. "Anything that withstands the chaotic storms must have an extraordinary history or energy. Let's explore."
The two began searching the golden forest. Despite being a "fragment," the area was vast, rivaling the Boundary Stabilizing Isle in size.
At the center of the fragment, they took to the skies, overlooking the sprawling golden landscape.
Xiao Ze extended his soul perception, his gaze locking onto a northern mountain range.
"There's something unusual there," he said.
"Let's go," Qing Yanjing responded without hesitation, trusting Xiao Ze's extraordinary perception.
As they approached, the seemingly ordinary mountain began to change. Golden trees turned black, their bark oozing a dark, malevolent energy.
A cold, mocking voice echoed from the mountain.
"After all these years, prey from the Great Thousand World has finally entered my domain. You two will serve well in replenishing my strength."
Xiao Ze and Qing Yanjing froze in midair. The aura emanating from the mountain left no doubt.
"An Extraterrestrial Demon!"
