Chapter 50 - Chapter 50

[50: Service]

(A/N: Whoa, we're halfway there!)

So, I think I got it. Training my enhanced stats is tough because it takes me hours to get to a state of being tired, and therefore, it takes a long time to get to the state where I build upon my physical traits, but that's not important. If I were a close-range fighter with that hand-to-hand combat, it'd be important, but I'm not. I'm a long-range fighter. Drones, railgun strikes, missile strikes, and all that stuff I've mentioned before. Therefore, my idea is to summon as much stuff as I can. As many drones and aircraft, each of them built for something different and having different weapons on them. Enough things to go to war with, or take out a city if I wanted to.

Let's get to work.

(Nezu's Office)

"Yo, Nezu! What up‽" Eleanor walked into Nezu's office. "I'm going to make this quick. So, I'm sure you know that I'm going to take the license exam, and I want to give you a heads-up that things will get incredibly loud and very dangerous. The airspace in this school will be filled with a bunch of stuff. Unless there's a facility big enough to possibly hold entire drone swarms, helicopters, and possibly a fighter jet or two?"

"Eleanor, you can't just walk into my office like this."

"I'm sorry, but I kind of need to tell you as soon as possible before things look bad. I don't want people panicking that a new villain attack is happening when they see all the stuff happening," Eleanor said.

"While we may have space, you'll need the open-air to fully operate your fleet of aircraft. You can't use the entire school's airspace, but I can designate the air space around the training facilities for you to use. That'll be fine," Nezu said.

"Nice. Alright, see ya," Eleanor left the office.

Alright, now we can start for real this time. I was outside one of the training facilities or gyms. There was plenty of space to test things out. Inside and outside. Thank goodness this is my free time. I couldn't imagine doing all this next to my classmates.

Let's try making something different. I've been making standard drones, but what about something more on the side of fiction? Fiction compared to 21st-century standards, at least. And I mean fiction drones, not fiction technology. I've done that a bit already, but that's because that stuff is known, but cutting edge for the 21st-century. Think, think…drones. Drones.

Oh, I know. I got out my bow and pulled it back, aiming it in the air. Let's see…a gyroscopic sphere with an internal omnidirectional system to roll across the battlefield with an exterior filled with spikes that extend when in pursuit mode. And for the aesthetics, glowing red lights. How would something like this be built? I closed my eyes and thought of the theory needed for this kind of technology.

Got it.

I released the bow. The yellow energy arrow shot out, quickly transforming into a metal ball with spikes. The red glow signified its danger. The metal ball landed on the ground, leaving an imprint on the grass. I controlled it to roll around. The movement kicked up the grass and dirt, leaving a deep trail. I controlled it to move to a target practice. It rolled to the target before it exploded, destroying it instantly and leaving a faint shockwave.

Hell yeah.

So, what was it that I just made? It's simple. It's called a Robotic Anti-Personnel Sentry. Or…R.A.P.S. Yeah, if you know, you know.

What else? Given that I can get into the realm of fiction…just how much fiction? Mechs are out of the question, obviously. They're strong, yes, but they're also giant targets and easy to hit. The R.A.P.S. are also quite big, but they're a lot faster than their size would suggest. I don't mind making some beefy and heavy land-based drones, but I like speed and agility. There's a time and place for them, yes, so I guess I should try in case that situation arrives.

But how would it work? Oh, wait, just use a land-to-air kind of deployment. I got it. I pulled my bow, and it aimed high. Since I've done R.A.P.S, let's go with the format for now. So, this one has four, mechanically articulated legs with a robust gait, a defensive body with a rotary cannon and grenade launcher.

I got this one as well. I shot the arrow, and it transformed into a khaki colored, walking tank. Oh yeah. I try out the bullets, but unlike the R.A.P.S, for which I can kind of tell what the radius of the damage is, I'm not going to test out minigun bullets all crazy like that. But it works! This one is the Cognitive Land Assault Weapon. Or the CLAW. Again, if you know, you know.

Alright, I got my walking bullet and damage absorption. If there's no cover, just pop this down and hide behind it. Though why I would ever be on the frontlines in a battle is a big question, it would still be a good support for team coordination. Having land-based options gives me more of the combined arms warfare. If they focus on the air, they expose themselves to the land, and vice versa.

Alright, the implications of this are massive, but how far can I take it? Squiddies? Nah, only strong in swarms, and I already have strong swarm options. And they're really big compared to a normal drone. Should I go hard sci-fi? There are a lot of options there, but which ones? Good thing "drone" just means an unmanned vehicle. And a vehicle is simply a machine designed for self-propulsion. So, technically, a robot falls under that category.

Does that mean I can technically make…Ultron? No…that'd be far-fetched, right? Yeah, there's no way, there's gotta be limits to this stuff. I don't even know the comics that well, but I'm 90 percent sure it's not like that.

And aircraft. I've already made unmanned versions of a bunch of stuff, so this technically means I can make unmanned versions of everything else. I think I could make a sci-fi ship. But should I? I mean, like, giant laser or plasma cannons look cool, but I can do the same things with bombs. I don't really need to do all of that. And lasers are just concentrated and coherent photons, so any quirk that can manipulate that stuff makes lasers or other energy weapons kind of useless. Hagakure could reflect a laser, theoretically at least. Wait, not theoretically, she actually reflected light. I don't know why she isn't stupidly overpowered.

Anyway, moving on. I think I'm fine where I'm at. If I need a big land force, I can just make a bunch of tanks and these CLAWS. They're large and beefy, and have a bunch of guns, but at least they're more agile than some kind of mech, not like that's saying much though. Alright, so not bad.

"Hey, Eleanor, you're here already? Are you making an ultimate move?" I heard the voice of Midoriya approaching. Oh, right, that ultimate move stuff. I completely forgot about that.

"Yeah, I guess so. Though coming up with an ultimate move is kind of unnecessary for me. I mean, I can already do things that could be considered 'ultimate,' like summoning a massive gunship or conducting long-range precision strikes. I'm mostly just thinking of what other things I can make within the supposed rules or constraints of my Quirk."

"Maybe we can help?" Midoriya said.

"I appreciate it, but it'll get really annoying."

"What do you mean?"

"This." My aircraft carrier rigging appeared, and countless small and buzzing drones appeared, filling the sky like locusts. A loud buzzing noise filled my ears and his.

Midoriya covered his ears. "Okay, okay, I understand now!"

All the drones returned to my carrier rigging, bringing peace back. "See? I told ya. I'll go to another area. This is hardly the only one on the campus."

"Yeah, it probably wouldn't be good for the class if there was that much noise," Midoriya said.

"Nice. Anyway, see you later. Good luck." I was just about to leave, but I stopped just a bit before. "Oh, by the way, Midoriya, what do humans walk on?"

"Legs? What's with the question?"

"Nothing, just a general knowledge check. We all know legs are stronger than arms. Anyway, see ya later."

/\\//\\//\

Midorya was a bit confused at the sudden question, but went back into the gym. Or he would've, but he saw something else.

"Did Eleanor…forget about this?"

He was looking at the CLAW that was still there.
