Chapter 16 - Chapter 16

(A/N: Not gonna lie, the winter Olympics may or may not have an effect on me and a few of these chapters. I'm not sure, though.)

I have a big problem, and most of it is up to chance.

Here's my ideal scenario: I don't have to fight Bakugo or Shoto.

Here's the realistic scenario: I will fight Bakugo, or Shoto, or both, depending on how the seeding goes, which, if the "randomness" holds up, I'll just replace someone while the other fights stay the same. I don't know if Midoriya will inspire, or whatever, Shoto into using his fire. It's in my best interest that Shoto doesn't realize that and stays where he is, and only uses his ice.

But how will I counter his ice? Just shoot it up; it's weak. But his fire? I could shield from it, or run away from it, or I could just make him not use it against me. I have drones; I can just give him too many threats to defend against. After all, I only need one good hit to win. This applies to Bakugo as well.

All right, no need to complicate things; just drone swarm them and throw a bunch of flashbangs and stuff.

Now, it's time to train. And by "training," I mean coming up with a good entrance. I really want a bald eagle, but even if I went back home and got one, that's just asking Uncle Sam to fine me thousands upon thousands of dollars and put me in federal prison for a few years. So, no bald eagle, unfortunately.

The stadium is open-air, so a flyover is an absolute must. I can make a drone version of a B-2 Spirit bomber, no wait, I meant a B-21 Raider and some F-47s. Those are the 6th-generation aircraft, and they are crazy, trust me. American air superiority guaranteed for the rest of the 21st century in my time. Although here, it's the 22nd century. If I'm right, there should be 7th-generation aircraft, with research into 8th-generation aircraft. Eh, not like it matters, I'm not going up against a military, the B-21 Raider and F-47 will be more than enough. A lot more than enough.

Okay, I'll use a formation with a B-21 Raider leading and with F-47's following; a delta formation of sorts. I'll modify them to release red, white, and blue smoke. And after that, I'll fly in on an osprey, but it'll be a sci-fi looking one using mag-lev assisted propulsion instead of blades. I'll be in the middle and then parachute out of the Osprey. And after I land, I'll have some drones set off a bunch of fireworks.

This is going to be great.

(2 weeks later)

The cameras were rolling, the stadium was packed as much as it could, and vendors outside and inside the stadium were working wildly to try to serve everyone. An influx of heroes was patrolling to make sure everything was safe, but realistically, there were too many people to cover, even if there were multiple on patrol; the presence is what matters more.

But while everyone was excited and filled with anticipation, the main attraction of the event wasn't. There were mostly nerves, and some kept a cheerful expression. But there was one question on people's minds.

"Hey, where's Eleanor? Has anyone seen her?" Tsu had asked while the class was in the waiting room. The event was set to kick off in less than 30 minutes.

"She's not here?" Mina asked.

"Can we even go out if she's not here? She's our class representative. This won't affect us, right? I really need to make an impression." Ochaco said, slightly panicking. She needed to perform well to help her parents.

"It doesn't matter, it's less competition for me." Bakugo said.

"I still need to talk to her about what happened in class when we met that mob outside of our classroom. She knew, but how? She also mentioned a big event." Momo said as it all came together over these weeks when they were preparing for the sports festival.

"She'll be here. There's still some time left. Maybe there was an emergency on her way here?" Mina said, still optimistically. "Wiat, where does she even live?"

"I don't know, she never mentioned it. All I know is that she seems to stay on campus even after it's time to go home. Maybe there are extra things an exchange student does?" Midoriya said. He had seen her on school grounds even after all after-school activities ended whenever he met with All Might.

Just then, the door to the waiting room opened. It was Aizawa. "It's time. Get ready to walk out." Aizawa said as he scanned the room. "Where's Eleanor?" The class was quiet. No one had an answer. "There's no time for this. Come on."

The rest of the class followed as it was time for the opening ceremony.

When the announcement arrived, the stadium got louder. With each announcement of the classes, there were cheers, but of course, the hero courses got the most attention. They were the main attraction, after all. The small procession continued until it was time for the moment.

Midnight stood on the podium once everyone was gathered. "Representing Class 1-A for the student pledge is Eleanor Hayes!" Most of the class got nervous about what was going to happen. What do they do now, since Eleanor isn't there?

Elsewhere, inside an osprey. 'Theodore, have you gotten access?'

{Yes, Eleanor, full access to stadium systems achieved. What is your command?}

A smirk appeared on Eleanor's face as she stood and put on a specially prepared parachute, and adjusted her cap. She even put on aviator sunglasses. She had to look as cool as possible. 'Play Kickstart My Heart by Mötley Crüe on all speaker systems. Turn it off when the pyro show ends after I land. It's time to steal and hijack the show.'

{With pleasure} Even the AI had a bit of excitement in its voice. Eleanor put her tablet into her coat as she got ready.

Back at the stadium, just when things were about to get too awkward from Eleanor not going up to give a pledge, the speakers started emitting rock music. A high-pitched whine distinct from the music could be heard. As it got closer to the stadium, the pitch lowered before a rumbling noise became prominent.

Swoosh. The violent roar of the jets and bomber flying overhead seemed to shake the air as they flew over, leaving a trail of red, white, and blue smoke above the stadium.

Most of the stadium was shocked and amazed at the sight. Exclamations of awe were thrown around.

In the booth, Aizawa and Present Mic had their own reactions.

"Did Nezu order a flyover? This is super cool." Present Mic said as he watched the flyover.

"Not that I'm aware of." Aizawa said.

Quickly following the flyover was an Osprey, slightly clouded by the smoke. The ramp of the Osprey opened up, revealing Eleanor with an excited smirk holding on to a handrail. Red, white, and blue flares were smoking from her arms and legs.

"What‽ What is she doing?!" Midoriya yelled as he saw what was happening. The big screen of the stadium showed her as the cameras Theodore gained access to were under her control.

Eleanor let go of the handrail and ran before jumping from the ramp, falling through the air in a vertical head-down position. She rapidly fell through the air, her hair whipping around wildly as she felt the rush of air hit her face. She spread her body to slow down before pulling the ripcord of her parachute, yanking her body up from her spread position.

"That's so manly!" Eijiro exclaimed as he saw the whole thing.

A parachute with the American flag and a bald eagle on it was broadcast on the stadium screen as Eleanor glided down to the ground, circling the stadium as she controlled the parachute. The flares gave it a smoky appearance. A few drones joined her in her descent as they gave off flashy lights to make it a bigger spectacle.

She landed in the center of the podium, the parachute falling behind her as she took it off. The drones following her quickly flew behind her as they set off an intense sequence of pyrotechnics in the air, as Eleanor, her hands in machine-gun style, pretended she was firing them. She punched downwards for a final, massive blast of pyrotechnics before she finally went up to the mic, grabbing it from the mic stand. Midnight was too stunned by what Eleanor did to say anything.

"My name is Eleanor R. Hayes, and that was courtesy of the red, white, and blue!"
