"I knew that this would happen sooner or later" the man suddenly smirked
"This is a serious matter and to top it up they had a child together but you're doing nothing about it but smiling, " the woman asked worriedly
"trust your husband for once Madi, I knew that this would happen and that's why I had a backup plan," the man said and sat down, he took the wine on the table and poured himself a drink he also poured Madi a drink and handed it over to her
"what do you mean Clifford" Madi asked with a raised brow she knew her husband wouldn't be this calm if he didn't have a backup plan so, looking at his expression right now, she calmed down but she was still curious and eager to hear his plan
"aren't you curious as to why Hux hasn't regained his memories after all these years" Clifford asked while taking a sip from his drink
Madi raised a brow... Looking confused... She still couldn't figure out what her husband was thinking...
"tsk tsk tsk I guess I surpassed your expectations this time Madi," Clifford said looking at his curious wife
"Let's go back to the past now Madison... Shall we," Clifford smirked

Sixteen years Ago
Clifford was in a meeting with the board of directors when a call came in he looked at the caller and it was Doctor Aubrey ... He adjourned the meeting and returned to his office to answer the call
"yes doctor Aubrey," Clifford said immediately he answered
"quick come to my hospital we found your brother" Doctor Aubrey said through the phone
"What?..."Clifford whispered... He couldn't believe his ears
"I tried calling your father's number but he wasn't picking up so I called you... I found Huxley" Doctor Aubrey said hurriedly
Clifford's face sank as he looked at the phone screen
"where is he now..."
"Unfortunately he had a serious accident and was brought to my hospital along with a child" The doctor said
"a child?" Clifford asked
"Yeah"
"I'll be there in 15 minutes and don't tell my father about this I'll tell him myself," Clifford said and hurried out of the company.... He dialled his wife's number and it went through after a single ring
"Hello Clifford "Madison's voice was heard from the other end
"bad news madi..."Clifford said with a shaky voice
"what's wrong Cliff," Madi asked as she heard her husbands raging breathing through the phone
"Huxley is back," Clifford declared
"what! Huxley is back... How's that possible how can he come back after 6 years" Madi exclaimed
"no he managed to escape and I think he knows that it was me who tried to kill him six years ago Madi what are we gonna do " Clifford asked as cold sweat dripped from his forehead
"let's calm down... Where is he now?" Madi asked
"he is in the hospital doctor Aubrey found him I'm on my way to the hospital" Clifford explained
"ok I'll go to the hospital too," Madi said
20 minutes later both Madi and Clifford arrived at the hospital
They went straight to Doctor Aubrey's office after they found out that he was still in the operating room
They waited for hours and finally, Doctor Aubrey came in
"welcome me and Mrs Arison" Doctor Aubrey said
"you said you found my brother... " Clifford asked eagerly
"yes Clifford I found him but unfortunately his condition isn't good right now... You were right by telling me that I shouldn't tell your father about this " Doctor Aubrey sighed
"but we'll have to tell him sooner or later this isn't something we can hide for too long" He added
"how is he now doctor, " Madi asked feigning care
"he's out of danger now... But unfortunately, he slipped into a coma and I'm afraid that he might lose his memory after he regains consciousness because the accident caused a huge impact on his brain" Doctor Aubrey said sadly
Madi and Clifford heaved a sigh of relief
"what about the child who was brought in with him" Clifford asked
"she's still unconscious and we haven't figured out her condition yet," Doctor Aubrey said
"please update me on her condition and I wasn't to request that you keep Huxley's news a secret for now until I figure out how to break the news to my father... He would be shattered to see him in this condition" Clifford said
"and prepare a medical team and all necessary equipment we would like to move him to the Arisons mansion"He added
"ok everything will be ready by tomorrow so we can move him then" Doctor Aubrey said
"great! Thank you for the information doctor" Clifford said and left with Madi
"What a relief at least we ain't be bothering us anytime soon " Madi said while they were inside the car but Clifford still felt uneasy
'I have a feeling that this would backside I have to do something about this I can't let him regain his memory at all cost' Clifford said to himself
He dropped Madi off at the Clifford mansion and turned the car... He went towards the direction of an old clinic
He made a call while standing in front of the clinic
"I'm in front of your clinic," Clifford said on the phone and after a while an old haggard looking man came out of the clinic in a lab coat
"Long time no see Mr Clifford, what brings you to my infirmary" the man said with a creepy smile which highlighted his lost two front teeth
"I need a memory-suppressing pill," Clifford said
"hmm...a memory-suppressing pill you say" the man
"you came right on time someone was just about to buy the last batch but I can make some more if you need more... Come in Mr Clifford, " the man said
"hmm"
"but can I ask what you need a memory-suppressing pill for, " the man asked
"Huxley is back... "
"what... That's not possible" the old man's eyes widened in horror
"didn't you inject him 6 years ago" the man asked
"no... He managed to escape" Clifford said
"He is comatose for now but I need to suppress his memory " he added
