I opened my eyes to see figures staring at me, and in a distorted tune, I heard one of them say "she's awake" and that statement made more people hover over me.
I felt like the monalisa at that point but , all I could do was stare. I couldn't move any part of my body and at that moment, I just drifted back to dream world.
The next time I opened my eyes, I could move my hands, head and neck but not my legs so I was able to sit up.
I looked around me just to have an idea of where I was and I couldn't recognise it and that's when it hit me and I was able to put the pieces together as to how I got there.
Just then, a young beautiful woman walked in with a tray of food and was surprised to see me sitting up.
"How do you feel ?" she asked.
"I'm ok but I can't move my legs"
"Can you remember how you got here? " she asked with a little frown on her face
"I remember some details but not all" I truthfully replied.
"What do you remember?" She asked while placing the tray of food on a small table in front on the bed I was on.
"I.... I was umm, I was out at the sea side with some of my friends..wait.. my friends, where are they"? I asked feeling the fear of losing them start to dawn on me.
"Calm down, ok. Breathe" she paused for a moment after saying that before she continued "tell me, what happened after you and your friends were at the sea side?"
"A tsunami struck and swiped everyone away, and I think that's how I ended up here." "Now where are my friends?"
"So the truth is.."she said slowly, "we only saw you, we didn't see any of your friends"
I felt like my world was shaking at that moment not just because my friends weren't seen but because my younger brother ethan was among them which also meant he wasn't seen. "So, are you trying to say they're....dead. noo, they can't be"
"Some other people your age were found later unconscious by the side of different rivers around the town, they were taken to different houses to stay temporarily. I didn't see them but i was told" "I'm just saying that you were the only one I found near to death at shore. I brought you here for a place to stay until you are fully conscious to tell me about where you're from".
I felt a weight lift off me and I became calmer than I was a few minutes ago. Then I heard her ask
"What's your name?"
"Elsavour" I replied "u?"
"Lamari" she said while giving me a small smile.
