After a few more minutes of looking at the coral reef, the group starts to swim back up to shore to meet with Marigold. The group talks while they swim.
Joe-"I wonder what Marigold picked for us to eat"
Elise-"Maybe some cooked fish, since we are on an island"
Julius-"You guys know I can just conjure up some food, we don't need to spend money on food"
Adam-"We know, we've just ate that conjured up food for the past year"
Julius-"Did it taste wrong?"
Damion-"I didn't notice a difference"
Joe-"It's a mental thing I think"
Adam-"I mean we are tourists, it would be weird to not eat their food. Imagine going on a trip somewhere and just bringing a bunch of food with you so you wouldn't have to eat anything there; that would be weird wouldn't it?"
Julius-"I guess that makes sense. It's still annoying that I can't just create money"
Joe-"You tried a lot of times while we were on the island"
Julius-"I couldn't even make machine that could replicate that pattern on the back of the coins"
Adam-"Well to make a machine it would have to have that pattern too"
Julius-"It's seemingly full proof"
Damion-"Making fake money collapses the economy"
Julius-"Well I wouldn't make a bunch of it"
Julius(in his head)-"From what I remember, you said that special pattern on the back of the coins that can't be copied, is the result of a skill right?"
Voice-"It's possible"
Julius(in his head)-"It's the only thing that makes sense. Even if magic couldn't create that pattern for some natural reason. I should have at least been able to make a laser that would cut the pattern into the coins. Yet somehow even that couldn't work. So there's some sort of force preventing the pattern from being copied by any means of magic"
(Julius has a short flashback of him making multiple machines each one failing to copy the patterns on the back of the gold coins. Each coin has a different image on the front showing which kingdom it came from)
Julius(in his head)-"So all of the coins were produced by that one company called Sigil right?"
Voice-"That is what your friends told you correct, they mass produce the coins which are then used by the kingdoms. They put the images on the coins based on whatever kingdom they're shipped to"
Julius(in his head)-"I can't even begin to imagine how many times that company has been attacked by people trying to steal the secret to making the money symbol"
Voice-"They likely have top level security"
The group makes it back to the beach and walks out of the ocean water.
Marigold-"Hey guys!"
Marigold waves at them, she's sitting at a table underneath a beach umbrella.
Marigold-"I ordered some food at the restaurant right here. They'll bring our food out in a couple minutes"
The group walks over to sit down at Marigold's table.
Julius-"Thank you for ordering for us"
Marigold-"You're welcome. I ordered everyone things I think you'll all like"
Joe-"I appreciate it, I'm not a picky eater so I'm sure I'll like whatever you ordered"
Damion-"Hey Julius, do you miss eating?"
Julius-"What?"
Damion-"You said you used to be a human, so now that you're an atom and can't eat; do you miss eating?"
Julius-"I did for a little while, but I've gotten used to it. Besides, now I don't need to ever use the bathroom again"
Joe-"Hey Julius, how many rooms do we actually have?"
Julius-"I don't have the room keys, Adam has them"
Joe-"Oh true, I guess you don't have... pockets"
Adam-"Well right now we have two rooms. They said that's all the spare rooms that were available"
Marigold-"So who is staying in which room?"
Elise-"How about boys and girls get our own rooms"
Joe-"That's a four to two split"
Damion-"Julius doesn't need his own bed"
Julius-"That is true"
Adam-"Let me guess, you're trying to avoid my snoring right?"
Elise-"I don't know why you'd suggest that, it just makes sense we girls should get our own room"
Adam(sarcastic)-"Yeah right"
A waitress walks out carrying five plates of food. The waiter is a bird beastfolk who has wings instead of arms. Since she doesn't have arms she's using a levitation skill to carry the plates of food.
Waitress-"Here's your order"
The waitress uses her levitation skill to lower the plates of food onto the table.
Waitress-"Enjoy your meal"
Adam-"Thank you ma'am"
Marigold-"Now I ordered the smoked salmon for myself. The smoked pork is for Elise and Adam. The baked potato for Joe. And the soup is for Damion"
Elise-"That's what I'm talking about, some real meat"
Elise grabs the food and starts chowing down.
Julius-"My recreations should have been accurate down to the molecular level"
Julius's statement falls on deaf ears. The rest of the group begins eating their food.
Julius-"So Marigold? How much did all of this cost?"
Marigold-"I think it was about 8 or 9 gold in total. Which we can easily afford with the money we got from saving the ship"
Joe-"That's a bit expensive"
Joe scoops out a piece of the potato with a fork and eats it.
Adam-"Food at hotels are always at least a little more expensive"
Adam takes a bite out of his smoked pork while Damion sips up a spoonful of soup.
Damion-"Tastes good"
Adam-"I agree"
Marigold-"I'm glad I picked good options"
Julius-"Well after you're all done eating, do you wanna see our rooms? It will be getting late here soon"
Marigold-"Sleeping in a large bed will be strange due to my current size"
Julius-"Do you want me to change you back to normal?"
Marigold takes a bite out of her smoked salmon.
Marigold-"I think I'll change back tomorrow morning"
The group continues to eat their meal. Once they've finished eating they head towards the hotel. A few of the other ship passengers are also checking into their rooms. The group walks up to the receptionist's desk. They see a deer beastfolk at the receptionist desk.
Deer beastfolk-"Hello there, are you looking to check in for the night?"
