The man smiled up at him.
Under the pale moonlight filtering through the trees, his light-colored eyes seemed to shine strangely, almost like the eyes of an animal watching from the darkness. There was something unsettling about them, especially because the man looked completely relaxed after being chased through the forest only moments ago.
Zixin did not move any closer.
Instead, he remained where he was, leaning against the rough trunk of a tree with his arms loosely folded. His eyes stayed fixed on the man.
"You intentionally ran towards me. Why?"
"I wanted you to save me. That's why."
The man gave him a shameless little smirk, as though that was the most obvious answer in the world.
Zixin scoffed.
"I know you're more than powerful enough to deal with those people. You had no necessity to run away from them in the first place."
He had sensed it the moment he met this guy.
There was something powerful about him.
