'Knock, knock, knock...'
The sound of knocking at the door.
Mo Ang put out his cigarette and opened the study door.
An Ning walked in with a tray. "Not sleeping well? I brewed some herbal tea, it has a calming effect, would you like some?"
Mo Ang frowned. "Weren't you asleep?"
An Ning set the tray down. "Ever since my husband sacrificed himself, I've been a light sleeper, waking up at the slightest sound. Especially after I had my daughter, if she so much as moves, I'd check if she's wet herself, if she's had a bowel movement, then after cleaning her up, I still have to nurse her."
Mo Ang looked at her with concern. "You've had a hard time."
"I'm used to it, it's not hard." An Ning looked at him, tears glistening in her eyes. "Especially now, I'm happier and more content, I don't feel the hardship of those years at all."
Mo Ang gently stroked her face. "I will definitely make it up to you in the future."
