Each shot hit took out a drone and their numbers started to drop, but the drones just relentlessly kept chasing the entity.
Using the jetpack to create some distance and shooting , it made the drones attack pointless as before any of them can reach it they will either be shot down or it will have enough time to react and move out of the projectile's way.
The white space also realized this and changed its strategy.
[New directive received releasing tier 2 units]
Soon new portals opened and new types of drone units came out and started attacking the entity.
These tier 2 drones had better speed and were catching up to the entity , they had shields and each drone took five bullets to be destroyed .
As soon as they were in range they started to fire, the entity dodged as usual but this time the projectiles followed it, caught off guard one of its wings was shot and got destroyed, with the help of its jetpack it managed to get out of range and buy some time.
The entity analyzing the new enemies started upgrading its load out, first instead of straight fixed wings it upgraded to more fairy or insect like wings for better maneuverability, it's head which only had frontal vision before now had 360 vision. Its body became thinner to dodge better. It changed the gatling gun on his right hand to a shotgun for widespread greater damage and its left arm to a extendable electric chainsaw tentacle with sharp tip. Lastly it added a full body shield which could take some damage and also recharge.
With its preparation done it no longer ran away from them but flew towards them, the bullets they fired were dodged but they kept following the entity. Increasing its speed it drove into the swarm of drones, using its electric tentacle it stripped them of their shield and used its shotgun to kill them in one hit.The projectiles that were following the entity also slammed into the swarm killing many drones.
The drones tried to reorganize to trap the entity but it followed them , the tracking bullets they fired were now being dodged and hitting their own kind. The few bullets that hit were being absorbed by the shield.
The entity lashed out with its left tentacle, the sharp appendage piercing straight through a drone's metallic frame. But it wasn't satisfied.
It extended the tentacle further, the writhing limb stretched unnaturally, skewering multiple drones at once. Their bodies twitched, their systems struggling against the impalement—but they weren't destroyed.
Instead, the entity manipulated them, twisting their immobilized forms into a makeshift barrier. The next wave of projectiles rained down, but they never reached their mark. The captured drones absorbed the blasts.
In those precious few seconds of cover, the entity felt its shield systems recharging. Energy surged back into its form, flickering to full strength.
The entity dove back into the swarm and kept using this method to kill drones with minimal damage.
Although the pressure on it was not reducing, as more drones were being summoned, the entity managed to bring the Tier 2 drone swarm to a standstill.
The battle in this strange white space was relentless. The drones moved with calculated precision, their sleek metallic frames darting through the space, weapons primed to strike. Each time one fell, another took its place, an endless tide of mechanical resistance.
But the entity was learning. Adapting.
With every clash, it understood more about this strange battlefield—how to manipulate the space, how to counter the drones' movements. Bit by bit, it turned the tide.
After a few minutes of fighting these drones, the entity has fully adapted and can keep killing them no matter how many spawned but the more time it spends fighting the more strain it would put on Jason's brain , it has to find an exit to this place, before any substantial damage is caused.
The entity tried to get help from Jason's intermediate netrunning experience but this was out of its scope.
This was a completely new battlefield for both the entity and Jason.
Although it didn't find how to solve this space,Jason's experience did show it a way.
When Jason faced new problems with no one to hold his hand he would always follow his instincts.
The entity knew that this was illogical and often caused more harm. But it was at a dead end. Who knows if this space would soon summon stronger units, at that point whether it died first or Jason's brain fried both ends were not favourable. Thus it has to take a leap of faith.
From the beginning when it started fighting drones whether its tier 1 or tier 2, it kept feeling a certain way when it looked at these drones , this was all new to it and it thought this was just a sensation it gets when fighting, but after all this time , it had analyzed this instinct and found it very similar to how Jason feels when he looks at fried chicken or other foods he likes.
The entity had decided to follow this instinct.
Impaling another drone with its tentacle. It rushed out of the swarm , the projectiles followed behind it , turning around it shot a round object into the projectiles which upon impact expanded into a net that neutralized them, buying it some time.
