Maya sat on the sofa with her legs crossed, and next to her was a panther, who walked around sniffing things.
Captain Adam and the other team members had already left for security. In the dim light, Maya couldn't see Lucifer clearly, except for his blue eyes. But now, under the light, she could see that Lucifer's sleek, obsidian-black fur was thick and velvety, and his long tail swayed playfully.
Lucifer didn't feel like a stranger in Maya's place. He was very happy and started scratching his claws on the sofa rapidly.
"Ma'am..." Maya didn't react, but a guard named Felix felt bad. After all, the sofa was a custom-made luxury piece, imported from abroad.
"Get him a bowl of water and some meat," Maya instructed. Guard Felix, his legs shaky with apprehension, complied. The butler and maids were all fast asleep, and they didn't wish to disturb them.
After a while, Guard Felix came back with a bowl of water and some meat. He put the bowl of water near Lucifer, who sniffed it and happily started licking the water and eating the meat.
"Ma'am, the doctor has arrived," another guard said, bringing the doctor with him.
The doctor appeared flustered, beads of sweat glistening on his face, revealing his hurried arrival.
"Where is the panther?" he asked, looking around until he saw Lucifer drinking water.
The doctor was experienced with wild animals, so he approached Lucifer carefully. But Lucifer growled, sensing someone coming near him.
"It's alright. Let him treat your wounds." At her command, Lucifer's guard dropped, and he lay on the ground, observing the approaching doctor.
The doctor treated Lucifer's wounds, and when he was done, he said, "Don't worry, miss. It's just a minor wound. I've treated him for now, but I recommend bringing him to my clinic for a proper check-up." Maya agreed and paid the doctor online.
After the doctor left, Maya looked at Lucifer, who was lying on the ground looking at his bandaged paws and tapping the bandage with his other paw.
