The morning light filtered through the curtains as Hope stirred in my arms, dazed and disoriented. I held her close, whispering what had happened the night before—that I had brought her back along with Alaric and Landon. Relief washed over her face before she kissed me deeply, nestling into my embrace. Her gratitude was unspoken but palpable, her fingers tracing my skin as she whispered, "Thank you for taking care of me."
We spent the morning wrapped in each other until lunchtime forced us to rise. The day was quiet, a calm before the inevitable storm. After lunch, I lingered with the girls, then found myself in Emma's office, the air between us charged with silent understanding. Hours later, Brooke, one of my devoted maids, led me to the werewolf pack, introducing me to those eager to serve me as she did. Their eyes held reverence, loyalty, and something darker—a hunger to be useful, to belong to me.
But as night fell, I sensed it—the sinister presence of the next nightmare lurking in the shadows. The Oneiroi had arrived. A demon shape-shifter that blurred the line between dream and reality, a creature reveling in fear, twisting into a nightmarish witch. Its first victim was a mere child, terrorizing him but leaving him unharmed.
The following day, whispers of relentless nightmares spread among the students like wildfire.
Hope, ever the leader, gathered our circle, determined to unearth the truth. But I already knew. This demon could lull its victims into slumber without them ever realizing it.
Then, Raphael suffered the first true wound—a searing belt mark burned into his arm, a cruel echo of his past.
I told them my theory. To defeat this nightmare, we had to face it within our dreams, wrestle it into reality, and seize control. In the werewolf gym, we laid out mats, preparing for the descent. Alaric stood guard, ensuring no harm would come to the others. Hope, with her unwavering strength, cast a spell over us, forcing sleep upon us. I let my defenses down, allowing the abyss to swallow me whole.
The dream pulled me under, and I found myself within the Salvatore School. The demon slithered forth, its twisted form shifting as it searched for something—anything—to use against me. But I had no fear for it to feast on. It hesitated, and in that moment, I struck. My grip was unrelenting as I yanked it into the waking world.
The gym erupted into chaos as the demon, now fully corporeal, stalked forward. Hope stepped between us, her stance unwavering.
"Watch me," she commanded.
Blows rained between them, magic crackling through the air. Then Alaric arrived, his voice slicing through the battle.
"Hope! Aim for its eyes!"
She didn't hesitate. With a swift motion, she drove the enchanted arrow deep into the demon's skull, splitting it apart with merciless precision. Silence fell. The nightmare was over.
The next day, the trials for the next year loomed, but they were of little concern to me. I participated only for the sake of the team. But the night—ah, the night was mine.
Josie. Penelope. I did not let it slip through my fingers. And this time, I made certain that Penelope would never leave me, ensuring she bore my child.
As the weekend dawned, Josie and Lizzie departed for France with their mother, and I remained, indulging in my world.
Then she arrived.
Gini, the Giin—a creature of desire and deception, a twisted mimicry of a genie. Blue-skinned, invisible until she willed herself seen, bound to grant wishes until her five-hundredth service freed her. She prowled, searching for the weak-minded. And she found Lizzie.
I let her watch.
For three days, I reveled in pleasure, losing myself in the embrace of vampires, werewolves, witches, and the exquisite beings that belonged to me—my dragon, my dryad, my maids. Deina and her companion adorned in their French maid outfits, their devotion absolute. And Gini—oh, how she watched. Her body shuddered in pleasure, surrendering to the spectacle, touching herself in secret, unable to resist.
When Lizzie and Josie returned, I made my move.
I concealed myself from Gini's sight, lurking as she revealed herself to Lizzie. But before she could speak a single word, I appeared in Lizzie's room, my hand closing around Gini's wrist.
In an instant, I transported her to my world.
She would never leave.
Lizzie gasped, her voice trembling. "What was that?!"
I pulled her into my arms, my fingers tangling in her hair as I hushed her fears. "A monster that came for you," I murmured. "But it won't touch you. Not while I'm here."
She melted into my embrace, the weight of my words sinking in.
"You're safe," I whispered. "You and Josie… you'll always be safe with me."
