Chapter 191 - Intrusion

"We have to smoke her out Vi. No other choice."~ Caitlin, The Sheriff of Piltover

Aha! Caitlin voice line today. But it is her current words to Vi.

Anyway drop a couple comments. A few stones. Or a review if you have the time.

Are you looking forward to this arc? I hope so. There are entire fanfics based on this region alone. Funny little thing. And we are almost at 200 chapters. How crazy is that? I never imagined that I would get this far.

Finally, I just need to figure out a way to end Overtime. And as I was working on it I just thought of a really good premise. I think I'll get to it when I'm done with this fic. And after I release Overtime.

Anyway, enjoy the chapter.

The ticketmaster looked at them with a smile, "Got your tickets?"

"Yep!" Briar said popping the P.

Gregori handed it to her.

She looked at the ticket and then to the group, her eyes widening, "All one family?" Her voice rose a pith higher.

"Yeah." Annie nodded, "Different mothers."

Gregori's sputtered at the absurdity of the statement.

A wide smile shot onto Sydell's face as he jumped at the opportunity, "Our father is quite the ladies man."

Gregori's head swiveled around so quick, it was almost like it would fall off.

The ticketmaster's judging eyes fell on Gregori.

"In my defense..." Gregori raised both hands, "I was a soldier and flings were quite common." It was better to just accept and move on instead of try to defend himself. There was no point in trying to appear better in the eyes of a stranger.

Handing back the ticket to them, the ticketmaster shrugged, "Who am I to judge? There is worse in this world than a man who cannot control himself around women..."

Gregori took the ticket back.

She stepped aside, "Go ahead. There is a waiting room right in and you need to wait a few minutes before the next carriage arrives."

As the group shuffled in and the door closed behind them, Gregori turned toward his children and stared at them all.

Annie folded instantly, "Tibbers told me to say it." She held out the bear in front of her.

TRAITOR

Rell snorted at the instant reply from the bear. Daani hugged Sydell and was nearly in tears laughing.

"You didn't need to lie." Gregori spoke.

Faye raised her finger, "They didn't lie." She pointed to the two who spoke, "The both of them said the truth but the two sentences weren't connected."

"The meaning was implied Faye." Gregori sighed.

Sydell shrugged, "You can't blame me for acting on that set up. It was too good." HE flashed a thumbs up at Tibbers.

"Tibbers says that at least someone understands." Annie said out loud still holding the bear in front of her for protection. Her eyes flitted to Tibbers for a second, "Oh." She said as she moved the bear back to her backpack.

"What?" Daisy asked her.

"Tibbers told me to stop displaying him like a trophy." Annie replied.

Gregori shook his head slowly, almost disappointed. But even he could understand.... that was a really good set up. And Sydell did well to capitalize on it. The embarrassment from the interaction did not mean much when he took into account the fact that the children were making jokes and showing their own individuality. The years of trauma and hatred were fading... and this was proof of that.

The door behind them opened just as a carriage arrived.

Gregori, instantly let his magic flow.

A group of five enforcers walked in. In their hands were weapons the kind he hadn't seen before, all glowing the same blue that pointed to Hextech.

It could be dangerous.

Smoothly he stepped in between his children and the enforcers.

The lead enforcer, a girl wearing a beret and holding a long gun stepped forward. "I apologize for the sudden intrusion but we need to take the carriage."

The ticketmaster pushed into the room and spoke, "I apologize sir but two of your group can go with them and the rest can go in the next carriage."

"Can't we all go through together? On the next carriage?" Gregori asked as he frowned at the woman.

Daisy frowned as she stared at a large man with a shield.

"We cannot do that sir." The ticketmaster said, "People aren't allowed in and out of the room multiple times due to safety concerns. The attacks have mandated for increased security."

"So we have to be separated. No other choice?" Gregori asked once more, "What about letting two others in?"

"Too many people cannot be allowed sir." The ticketmaster said, looking remorseful. "We will waive your travel fee for this."

One of the enforcers stepped forward, pink... almost red hair swept to the side and the sides cut short. Her gauntlets let out some smoke. "We will keep them safe. Don't worry."

Gregori sighed, waving her off. "Its alright." He turned to the ticketmaster, "No need to waive of the ticket.... its alright. The tickets don't cost much either way."

"Pssst."

Gregori turned to Briar, who did a really bad job trying to gain his attention silently.

"The coin." She said.

Gregori shook his head, "No need to rely on it everywhere. It will cause more problems than solutions."

Sydell stepped forward. "I'll go."

He understood what Sydell was doing at a glance. Sydell would chat with the group. Gain information and relay that to him.

Gregori nodded, "Fine." He turned around, "Rell go with him. Keep him in line."

"Alright." She said and stepped forward.

The group boarded the carriage and set off.

Gregori and the others watched them go.

"Sydell's planning something?" Annie asked.

He nodded.

Daani seemed unsure, "Surrounding themselves in a closed space with unknown weapons doesn't seem very smart."

"Which is why I sent Rell with him." Gregori responded calmly, "A closed metal space with weapons made of metal."

"AH!" Daisy clapped her hands.

The group turned to her.

"That shield! I saw him when we landed here." Daisy said finally figuring out where she had spotted the shield before.

Gregori frowned at that. This enforcer squad..... they did not seem to be up to much good.... something was up.

Hopefully, Sydell could figure out what.

As he finished that thought, the door opened letting in two people, one of them, in a white coat smiled at them.

Inside the carriage, both Sydell and Rell looked outside the windows as they crossed the giant gap.

The pink haired girl looked at them, "Why are you heading to the Undercity?"

Sydell looked away from the window, "Adventure."

Rell smacked his head in a reprimanding manner and turned to the girl, "We are here to get the full Twin City experience. And Zaun is part of the Twin Cities."

"Very odd time to come here." She said frowning.

"We found out about all of this after coming here." Sydell shrugged, "Don't blame us... the trip was a long time coming anyway." He leaned forward, "What are you guys up to anyway?"

"Keeping the peace." She said and turned around, ending the conversation there.

A few moments of silence later, another enforcer spoke up, a ginger one. "Do you think she is going to attack?"

Every head turned to her.

"Who?" Asked the Ionian looking enforcer.

"Medarda." She answered.

Sydell's attention focused on the entire group, catching every expression.

"She won't." Their leader spoke up with an air of finality, "Her daughter won't let her."

"But there is an army coming onto our shores." The girl replied, "And more coming from Noxus using the teleporter."

"She fears for her daughter's safety." The leader spoke. "This is to make sure she has some semblance of control over that. My mother would have done the same."

"Cait-" The pink haired enforcer spoke but was cut off immediately.

"It doesn't matter now." The leader spoke. "The only thing we need to worry about is our mission."

Silence fell onto the carriage once more.

"Sooooo...." Sydell spoke, gathering all the eyes on him. "Any recommendations for Zaun? Places that we cannot miss?"

The seriousness in the faces of the enforcers was cut through as they were taken aback by Sydell's words.

The pink haired girl sighed, "Well.... there are only a couple places you can explore. Don't even think about the mines. The docks are pretty good. If you are looking for food.... then it is Jericho's without a doubt."

"Take notes." Sydell told Rell.

Rell frowned at him, "You want to get beat?"

Sydell raised his hands in surrender he turned to the pink hair girl, "Anyway thank for the information... uh... miss-"

"Vi." She answered.

"Miss Vi." Sydell nodded. He then turned to the rest of them expectantly.

They understood and began to introduce themselves.

"Maddie." The ginger girl said.

"Loris." The big shield wielding man said.

"Steb." The fish looking Ionian said.

Their leader looked at the two, contemplating weather she should introduce herself but then sighed and said, "Caitlin Kiramman."

"Like the councilwoman?" Sydell asked.

"Like?" Vi chuckled, "You are looking at her."

Sydell's eyes widened, "Well miss councilwoman, my name is Sydell Hastur. And this is my sister."

"Rell Hastur." She introduced herself.

"Nice to meet you two." Caitlin nodded at them.

But at that moment, Sydell did not fail to catch the ginger girl, Maddie, shake. He almost let out a chuckle. His father would find this information quite interesting.
