Chapter 13 - Fall Away

Planeptune Basilicom_

Several hours after his crushing defeat, a particular blond lancer found himself laying down on a super comfy material, waking from quite the uncomfortable slumber with his eyes still closed. Every sense felt off for the man as he laid down, making his reawakening way harder than it needed to be in his opinion. Or rather, moving after waking up. With the world's most comfortable pillow currently being under his head.

The Leanboxian would spend a few minutes just laying down, taking in the warmth and comfort of whatever his head was resting on. The sensation presented to his head reminded the man of when he fell asleep on his mother's lap, back when he was a kid all those years ago. A feeling he'd barely remembered until today's reminder. And not wanting the feeling to disappear just yet, Mugen felt inclined to keep his eyes closed, to keep sleeping on this absolutely amazing and perfect pillow.

"Oh... Fuckin hell..." Mugen grimaced as he went against his natural instincts, opening his eyes. Only to get flashbanged by the midday sun currently beaming down on wherever he was.

But he also felt the inclination to wake up. To get off of his bed and get to avenging his comrade, whom he didn't know the whereabouts of, forcing him to hold onto hope that he was still alive as his weary eyes fought the crust of sleep to open themselves.

But for now, the guy needed to get up. He needed to get to action as soon as possible, no matter how great he was feeling just laying down with his eyes closed. The adventurer within sought vengeance! Blood!

"Ah gawd bhai, whadi fuck happen?.." The blond asked himself, fighting to keep his consciousness thanks to the fatigue of facing the lioness from earlier and the amazing comfort from his current pillow combining together like a thick, viscous glue, sticking his head to the surface he laid upon.

"That's what we should be asking you, dear~" Answered the patron goddess of Leanbox herself, Green Heart, from a suspiciously close angle. "After all, you and your friend were the ones who aided all of Gamindustri with your bravery~"

Taken aback by the distantly familiar voice of his Nation's goddess being less than a few feet away from him, Mugen's eyes quickly shot open in mixed surprise and panic. With his blue orbs landing dead on the woman herself, her benevolent features hanging directly over his own.

"Lady Green Heart?" Mugen questioned, still somewhat out of it from his defeat in battle not too long ago. After a second, he'd put two and two together, figuring out that he was fast asleep on the lap of his patron goddess.

Suddenly, the Leanboxian found himself far more conscious of his position, but far too tired to do much about it. Leaving him with little more than staring up at the fellow blond as his options at the moment, a fact that made the man blush heavily. After all, it's not everyday you not only get to see your patron goddess in the flesh, but get a personal lap pillow from her, AND get complimented by her all in the same day.

With a twist of his neck, the man saw the other three goddesses in the room as well. Black Heart, White Heart, and Purple Heart. With all four in their "human" forms as they sat down in the living room of Planeptune's Basilicom.

How'd he know it was Planeptune's Basilicom? The futuristic motifs mixed with the purples everywhere. Oh and the Vinaya-sized hole in the wall being repaired by some workers over on his left.

"Indeed, Mugen," Noire interjected, seated opposite to the two Leanboxians with her usual smile. "While you were out, Neptune and Nepgear took it upon themselves to inform us as to what had went down."

Noire, ever the matter-of-fact gal, got straight to the matter at hand, which was last night's events. Skipping over the usual offerings of empathy and sympathy for lost friends in favor of speeding up the process of catching the Lioness Sin as soon as possible. Which earned the Nation leader a blank stare in stare from Mugen. He knew where she was coming from, but the sudden cut to business simply threw the man for a loop for a second.

Only adding to the mountain of reasons the tsundere will never have friends.

"My deepest apologies to your fallen comrade, Mugen." Blanc added, her tone quite formal despite her words spoken, pulling the blond male's attention away from Noire. At least someone was trying. "While we don't know of his current status, Vinaya doesn't sound like the 'let the enemy live' type of woman."

"True, but I believe he's alive, he's survived this long." Mugen spoke, his voice hoarse and dry from just waking up. That didn't stop him from quipping at least a little. "And with his current girlfriend, that's quite the feat by itself."

While the deities didn't know exactly what Mugen meant by that, they caught on enough to know it was a joke. It even earned a chuckle out of Vert, you was currently fighting the urge to stroke the guy's head and losing.

"That's the spirit, Mugen!" Chirped Neptune, seated on her couch with that lovely cheery smile she was known for. "I'm sure he's doing better than being dead! After all, there's no way you can get a power like that and just croak in the next five minutes like that!"

Mugen thought over the main character's words, sitting himself upright a second before Vert's hand could reach his hair. 'She could be up to something there...' The man thought, putting a thumb on his chin as his thoughts began to form properly. 'John should be able to tell me if Gyn's soul has passed to another life or not.'

"Yeah, that's the spirit..." The man couldn't stop himself from parroting, hope evident in his gaze, "I know a way we can confirm my boi's survival, anyone up for a road trip?"

"A road trip? Where?" Blanc questioned, the first to react to the sudden question at hand. Followed up with enthusiastic nods from Neptune and concerned glances from Vert and and Noire.

"London" Mugen answered plainly, his features blank as he stared off into the distanc- Hold on is he aura farming?

"LONDON?!" All four women repeated, each with varying levels of shock running through their veins.
