Chapter 3 - Chapter 3 – Salaz and Kaban!

Third-person POV

Shortly after, Ignatius, Red, and their teams got off the plane and walked through the jetway and the terminal. The modern look of it (glass, concrete, and some flourishes from contemporary Filipino styles) mesmerized Red and his team. After exiting, they had a city bus ride to the Natividad City Central Terminal, a hub for the main island's train system. As the bus rolled on a flyover, Red and his team could see the lights of the city (much like ones in Southeast Asian cities with the traffic on the two-way highway, lights on open windows, and busy night markets) night while Ignatius held on a bus strap.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" Ignatius said positively. "Especially at night, the lights are beautiful."

At the train station, they got off the bus and travelled east to Kaban by a commuter train (much like suburban commuter trains in Japan). 10 kilometers felt like minutes for Red, but for Ignatius, it felt like homecoming and nostalgia.

In Kaban, they got off and navigated through the town's lights and night markets. Some of the people who knew Ignatius' habit of wearing the logo-less Team Plasma grunt clothes as a hobby were astonished by Ignatius's sudden arrival from Kanto as they walked to Ignatius's home, which had the style of a small Palladian countryside home. Ignatius and his family had a lineage of being small-time officials in town, and by now, his uncle had a tenure as a town official. They were flabbergasted when they recognized Red from the Indigo League.

"Is that?" one farmer whispered while clutching his crate of Oran Berries.

"Red from the Indigo League?" one boy gasped while his Spoink made a bouncy sqeak.

"Why does Red-san look so disheveled?" another resident, a seamstress, added.

"What happened to him?" her husband, a fisherman, added.

Even Ignatius's older sister Tuyết Cseh and her Pokémon and companion in her taxi travels, a Braixen, was stunned when she pulled over her white, Filipino-style taxi on the side of the town market street from a long day in Natividad City and its surrounding areas.

"Wait, Ignatius-kun?" Tuyết, with her dark green, long hair and light purple eyes, said to her younger brother. "I thought you left the region for the Kanto championships…"

She glanced at Red and his team. "Red-san?"

"Ate Tuyết," Ignatius said while pulling his mouth mask down. "I'll explain what had happened to him later at home."

And so, all of them went into the Cseh home for the night.
