Regular magical sensing will not work against the darkness created by these creatures. Plus, voices and echolocation will not work, as the smoke itself is a sort of physical entity that will interfere with these things.

"Alright, that's good," Karna thought as he took the ominous-looking lamp from the system storage and found out it was emitting light even without any flame inside it. It also seemed as if it was not using any fuel at all to light up.
"Is there anything left from the information rewards that is helpful to me in any way?" Karna asked once more as he stood on the surface of the sea using the armor's wings.

"Got it," Karna said as he flew upwards for a few hundred meters and then immediately flew downwards while increasing the speed using his wings. As he neared the surface of the water, he used the thunder magic in the armor to create a drill-like structure that started to spin, effectively allowing him to cut through the surface of the water very easily. As he went deeper, water did fill up inside the drill that covered him, but the momentum he created before helped him go even deeper without any problems, and then the water pressure began assisting as well.
As he went deeper, he saw an ominous-looking hole filled with darkness at the bottom of the sea.
'Found it,' he thought as he began going straight towards it. As he passed through the film of darkness at the entrance of the hole, he was able to feel that the air and the darkness inside were highly corrosive.
He immediately deactivated his armor and activated the Demon Slayer form. The transformation was instantaneous as the armor seamlessly retreated into his skin while the energy of death covered him completely.
For a moment, there was complete darkness around Karna, but it immediately dissipated as the soul lamp he had nearby began to make the entire place bright enough for him to see around.
'The corrosive effect is gone,' he thought as he saw his current body was able to easily tank the energy around him.
But the moment he passed through, the beings deep inside had already become aware of his presence.
Deep inside the seal.
"A rat has scuttled in through the seal," Sloth replied as he was supplying the power to break the seal.
"The seal was mainly made to trap us inside. Unlike us, who require the destruction of the entire seal to exit, the humans and other weak species would be able to easily enter if they find a small gap within it," Gluttony replied.
"Doesn't matter. Don't forget that the seal is deep inside the ocean, so for a person to appear here means they had knowledge about this place. But seeing that almost the entire population of the world was killed that day, the chances of anyone knowing the location as well as our existence is very low—or, to be more exact, next to impossible," Pride replied from the side.
"So what, it's just a human. We can kill him easily," Lust lazily commented from the side as she was working on the seal.
That made everyone pause and look at her silently. Even without eyes, all of them turning their attention towards her made her feel extreme fear.
"Do not forget how we almost died, Lust," Wrath growled from the side as he slowly got up and started walking towards her. "Don't forget that it was just a single human that wiped out our entire species while we were at our prime, just a few people shy of conquering this world completely."
Lust began to crawl backwards in fear as she felt the intense heat from Wrath.
"Do not forget the days when we had to resort to trickery just so we could survive, and even then that bastard managed to seal all of us for at least a few millennia before he croaked out. That was after he wiped out every single one of our species spread across the entire globe."
"So the next time I hear you underestimate our enemies, Lust, I will kill you myself just to rid the rest of us of your headache," Wrath growled as he went next to her.
"Do you understand?"
"Yes… yes, yes," Lust answered fearfully.
"What we need more than anything right now is time to complete the ritual. The more people we send after him, the more time it will take to complete the ritual. This will put the person we are sending at a disadvantage, but we have no other option," Pride started speaking as he felt the intruder's presence getting closer.
"I will do it. Even if he is strong, there will be many things he will be envious of not having achieved, as he is young. My powers might not be enough to beat him, but they will be enough to hold him in a dreamlike state indefinitely, depending upon the dreams he has locked in his heart," Envy replied as he exited the ritual space.
"Make sure to win," Gluttony said without turning back. Envy nodded and went forward.
