Suddenly, the door across the hall opened, and a young man came out to throw away the trash.
Valentine Teller glanced at him and lowered her head again.
Watching her wait so foolishly for so long, the man finally couldn't help but ask, "Are you waiting for Mr. Reed?"
"Yes." Valentine nodded, "I don't know where he went, and I can't reach him on the phone."
"You'd better not wait anymore; Mr. Reed no longer lives here."
The man's words shocked Valentine into standing up from the ground. She looked at him, stunned, and asked in disbelief, "He really doesn't live here anymore? When did he move out?"
"He moved out last month." The man thought for a moment before continuing, "Mr. Reed said he was going abroad. I even ran into him at the elevator the day he left."
"Going abroad? Did he say where?" Anxiously pressing for details, it hurt that he left without telling her, he really was so heartless.
"It seems like he went to Africa, but he didn't say which country."
Africa? Africa?
