Chapter 56 - Virgin Mortal

A demon soldier rushed into Leviathan's chamber, clutching an ancient black book tightly against his chest.

"My lord! You need to see this!"

Leviathan glanced up from the flames dancing above his palm.

"What is it?"

The demon quickly approached and presented the book.

"We found this hidden beneath the Throne Palace ruins."

Leviathan raised an eyebrow.

"And?"

The soldier swallowed nervously.

"It contains a prophecy concerning the destruction of the world."

The Demon King's interest was immediately piqued.

He sat upright and snatched the book from the demon's hands.

Its black pages were covered in ancient symbols and forgotten runes.

"And how exactly does this world end?" Leviathan asked.

The demon hesitated.

"According to the prophecy... it begins with a mortal."

Leviathan frowned.

"A mortal?"

His voice dripped with skepticism.

"What could possibly be special about a human?"

The soldier lowered his head.

"Not just any human, my lord."

Leviathan's eyes narrowed.

"Then explain."

"The prophecy speaks of a young mortal man."

The demon pointed at one of the pages.

"A virgin born beneath a full moon."

For several seconds, silence filled the room.

Then Leviathan burst into laughter.

"AHAHAHA!"

The chamber shook from the force of it.

"You're telling me the destruction of the world depends on some insignificant human boy?"

The demon remained serious.

"The prophecy claims he will be your instrument in destroying the world."

Leviathan stopped laughing.

"And how am I to find this human?"

"According to the book his blood is unlike any other," the soldier replied.

"His blood?"

The soldier nodded. "Yes, my lord. It is said that anyone who tastes it will immediately recognize it was him."

Leviathan slowly closed the book.

A dangerous smile spread across his face.

"If that's the case..."

Dark fire ignited in his eyes.

"Then search the Human Realm."

The surrounding demons straightened instantly.

"Capture every young man you find."

Leviathan's smile only widened.

"Find him immediately."

The soldiers knelt.

"As you command, my lord."

Moments later, countless demons took flight toward the Human Realm.

The hunt had begun.

.

.

.

Meanwhile, back at the vampire palace...

"A mortal?"

Blake nearly fell out of his chair.

Lilith nodded grimly.

"The vision was clear."

Everyone gathered around her.

"If Leviathan finds that young man first, our future ends in disaster, " she added.

A heavy silence settled over the room.

Xenon folded his arms. "Then we must find him before Leviathan does."

Maddison frowned. "But how? There are billions of humans. How are we supposed to identify one specific person?"

Lilith lowered her gaze.

"There is a mark."

Everyone immediately looked at her.

"A person born beneath the full moon carries a small birthmark on their back."

She paused.

"It is no larger than a coin and crimson in color."

The room became quiet once more.

Heberlin stood. "Then we should head to the Human World immediately. Let's find him first."

"We don't need to," the unexpected response came from Lilith.

Stephen blinked. "What do you mean?"

Lilith looked around the room.

Her expression was unusually serious. "There is already a mortal among us."

Everyone froze.

Then slowly, all eyes turned toward one another.

Xenon was the first to speak. "You can't mean..."

Lilith nodded. "Sagi."

The room instantly exploded with reactions.

"What?!"

"No way!"

"You've got to be kidding me!"

Meanwhile, completely unaware of his newfound importance...

Sagi was probably sleeping peacefully in his room.

.

.

.

Jade sat quietly in her chamber.

The heavy chains around her wrists rattled softly.

Through the partially open door, she had overheard every word of Leviathan's conversation.

A mortal boy.

A prophecy.

The end of the world.

The thought alone terrified her.

Slowly, she wrapped her arms around herself.

Closing her eyes.

"Please..."

Her voice trembled.

"Let this war end."

Tears filled her eyes.

"Xylon..."

She lowered her head.

"Hurry."

.

.

.

Elsewhere in the palace...

Titus and Cedrick sat across from one another.

A chessboard rested between them.

The atmosphere was calm.

At least, until Cedrick casually spoke.

"You like my girlfriend, don't you?"

Titus froze.

The chess piece in his hand stopped moving.

For a moment, neither man spoke.

Cedrick watched him carefully.

"It shows," his voice remained calm. "In the way you look at her... In the way you protect her. In the way your entire expression changes whenever she's around."

Titus lowered his eyes.

Unable to deny it. "I'm sorry."

Cedrick chuckled. "So it's true."

A bitter smile appeared on Titus's face. "But she's yours," his fingers tightened around the chess piece. "Not mine. You met her first."

Cedrick nodded slowly.

A distant look entered his eyes. "I've made many mistakes."

The confession surprised Titus.

"I hurt Aria more times than I can count," he stared out beyond the terrace. "But despite everything... She never stopped loving me."

A small smile appeared on his lips. "I am incredibly lucky," his eyes softened. "And I love her more than anything."

Titus listened quietly.

Then looked down at the board.

"You really are lucky," he smiled faintly. "When I traveled with her, she always seemed sad. Like she was carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders."

His expression grew serious. "Please take care of her. Don't hurt her again."

Cedrick stood and walked toward the terrace.

The evening wind ruffled his hair.

"Don't worry," his voice was firm. "I won't."

For a brief moment, sadness crossed his face. "Because I never want to lose her again."

The silence that followed felt strangely peaceful.

Titus finally made his move.

Cedrick returned to the table.

Studied the board.

Then smiled.

"Check."

Titus blinked.

Cedrick moved another piece.

"Checkmate."

The realization hit immediately.

Titus smiled.

"You won."

Cedrick grinned.

.

.

Sagi was sound asleep when the door to his room suddenly creaked open.

A group of figures quietly entered.

The sound of approaching footsteps stirred him from his sleep.

"Mm..."

He rubbed his eyes and sat up.

"What do you guys want?"

His voice was still thick with drowsiness.

Lilith stepped forward.

"There's something we need to ask you."

Sagi yawned.

"What is it?"

Xenon crossed his arms.

"Do you have a birthmark on your back?"

Sagi blinked.

"Huh? Yeah, I do. Why?"

Maddison immediately leaned forward.

"Is it red?"

Now Sagi's expression grew suspicious.

"Wait."

His eyes narrowed.

"How do you know that?"

He pointed accusingly at them.

"You've been peeking at me, haven't you?"

The room fell silent.

Then—

"Idiot."

Zander smacked the back of his head.

"We're not perverts."

"Ow!"

Sagi rubbed the spot and pouted.

Meanwhile, the others exchanged grave looks.

Maddison slowly exhaled.

"Then it's really him."

The atmosphere instantly changed.

Even Sagi noticed it.

"Uh... Why is everyone suddenly so interested?"

Blake stepped closer.

"One more question."

Sagi swallowed.

"Okay...?"

"When you were born... Was it during a full moon?"

Sagi frowned.

Thinking.

Then his eyes brightened.

"Oh! My grandmother told me about that."

Everyone immediately leaned in.

"She said my mom gave birth to me during a full moon."

He scratched his head.

"Actually, I think she said it was during a tetrad or something."

The room froze.

Lilith's face lost all color.

"T-Tetrad?"

Sagi nodded innocently.

"Yeah. That's what Grandma called it."

"A Blood Moon Tetrad."

The silence became deafening.

A Blood Moon Tetrad.

An incredibly rare astronomical event where four total lunar eclipses occur within a specific period, causing the moon to appear red.

Even Xenon looked disturbed.

For the first time, genuine fear appeared in Lilith's eyes.

The details matched perfectly.

Every single one.

The mortal.

The full moon.

The red birthmark.

And now...

The Blood Moon Tetrad.

The prophecy had pointed to Sagi all along.

Completely unaware of the horror spreading through the room, Sagi looked around nervously. "Okay... Can someone explain why you're all staring at me like that?"

Lilith walked toward him.

Her usually calm expression was gone.

"Sagi."

Her voice was serious.

"You need to be careful."

The joking mood instantly vanished.

Sagi sat up straighter.

"Careful? Why?"

Lilith's gaze hardened.

"Because Leviathan will come looking for you."

The name alone sent chills down his spine.

"L-Leviathan?"

He remembered the terrifying Demon King who had attacked the kingdom.

The monster who had kidnapped Queen Jade.

The monster everyone feared.

Suddenly, Sagi felt very awake.

"W-Wait..."

He pointed at himself.

"You mean that crazy demon king is looking for me?"

No one answered.

Their silence was answer enough.

A cold sweat rolled down Sagi's neck.

.

.

Meanwhile...

Xylon remained alone inside his chamber.

The doors were sealed.

No one was allowed to disturb him.

The King sat cross-legged in the center of the room.

His eyes were closed.

His breathing slow and steady.

Deep concentration filled every corner of the chamber.

Jade's face lingered within his thoughts.

Her smile.

Her laughter.

Her tears.

The memory of her being taken from him.

The helplessness he had felt.

The rage.

The guilt.

All of it fueled a single desire.

To become stronger.

To save her.

A thick white mist slowly spread across the room.

At first, it barely covered the floor.

Then it rose higher.

And higher.

Until the entire chamber was engulfed in fog.

The magical energy surrounding Xylon intensified.

Furniture began to tremble.

Books floated from their shelves.

Candles rose into the air.

Even the bed lifted several inches above the floor.

Everything revolved around him.

Slowly.

Silently.

Like planets orbiting a star.

The pressure emanating from his body continued to grow.

Xylon tightened his fists.

His eyes remained closed.

Wait for me, Jade.

No matter where Leviathan hides you...

I will find you.

And I will bring you home.
